My doc asked for some thyroid tests cause I've been losing wait and have menstrual problems. the results were: TSH 1.32 (normal) FT4 1.33 (normal) FTS 2.8 (normal) ANTI - TPO 27.4 (HAD TO BE <5.6) ANTI -TG 80.5 (HAD TO BE <4) My doc said that ANTI TPO and ANTI TG maybe elevated because of celiac, and that I don't have graves cause TSH, FT3 and FT4 are normal.
Avatar f tn This is the result from one study "Prevalence and relative risk of other autoimmune diseases in subjects with autoimmune thyroid disease"... I have seen 2 specialists for Graves' Orbitopathy. One suggested decompression surgery which I opted NOT to have. Sounded too extensive and too risky so I live with the "buggy" eyes. Endo did not order any lab work this last week.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with graves disease in 1979. I had most of my thyroid removed and 2 parathroids too. I am now hypothyroid and hypoparathyroid. Avatar f tn Hypothyroidism slows metabolism and this can cause the parietal cells to produce less stomach acid (hypochlorhydria). Adequate levels of stomach acid is required for vitamin B12 absorption. Another cause for vitamin B12 deficiency is due to other autoimmune disease that may occur with Hashimoto's thyroiditis such as autoimmune pernicious anaemia or celiac disease. 4852898 tn?1360039862 Stomach discomfort, fatigue and brain fog does sound a bit like some problems that crop up with celiac disease/gluten-sensitivity. Which celiac panel was used? Did it look for the presence of an IgG reaction to gluten? Were your genes checked, too. In many cases, problems with gluten may not show up with testing for many years before damage actually occurs. Have you considered trying a GF diet to see if you note any changes? If it's tied-in, you see changes within about 4 weeks.
646782 tn?1224281384 there is a lot of stuff going on in that post but i will say that thyroid can be autoimmune and so can celiac and both are quite common together and believe me both will affect the heart rate in the long run .graves disease is harder to control that hashimotos and it will make the hr higher if not under control.if the thyroid is autoimmune it can reverse back to normal and go up again.
