102999 tn?1326855784 I have been taking many supplements and vitamins for many years now at the advisement of a nutritionist/pharmacist in town. I feel some of these have really helped. But not really sure what does what at this point. Drs around here really don't believe in vitamins and the more natural routes. My insurance doesn't cover the docs that deal with it. So it is very difficult to get trustworthy info/advice. Question is...could any of these be aggravating my PACs? Thoughts?
Avatar f tn Hey guys!!! So I'm almost two weeks free of Tramadol! I'm happy to report that I've actually been feeling great the last few days...I have energy and no more fatigue. Is this normal?!? I remember last detox the fatigue hung around for almost a month or more. It's weirdly different this time. I feel like this isn't normal and am just waiting for it to come back. And I'm not even taking any supplements or vitamins anymore. Thoughts?
Avatar f tn They can be helpful for many things, but I strongly believe exercise should be a natural process, not one pushed by supplements. That becomes unhealthy too much of the time as you move to more and more unnatural supplements that can work but aren't good for you because you aren't satisfied with the slow results that natural processes produce.

Avatar f tn What kind of specialist is best to see to find out which supplements would be best for me to take?
Avatar n tn The company that sells this product should be able to tell you what the active ingredients are and what amount of vitamins and minerals are contained in each supplement. The definition of "supplement" is to be combined with another source. You need to make sure the product has the min required recommendations for folic acid etc. I am always concerned when one product can be used for all age groups and conditions.
Avatar f tn My alphafero protein went from 6 to 11. last year i started taking massive amounts of herbs and vitamins . ,like 35 per day. 10 were to try to get rid of psoriasis , the others were anti oxidants. i took them all at once. could this have taxed my liver as far as metabalizing this amount and could that have sent my alt's up . i feel fine no change in me at all. other than these numbers. i took another blood test today.
Avatar f tn I understand that the supplemental of soy lecithin (pure) doesn't contain any soy protein which is what inhibits the thyroid gland from working properly. I started taking it several hours or more after my synthroid. With synthroid you should take on an empty stomach and then wait two or more hours before taking anything else. This includes eating because foods will also prevent the medicine from working, esp if the food isn't hypo friendly.
535882 tn?1396576685 If your a man, take one that IS iron-free. A good multi will have all the B vitamins in all the amounts you need. Try "Nutritech" brand 'All One' powder. They make one with iron and one without iron. For women I also recommend a third supplement (however, men only need the first 2 I just mentioned) which is Calcuim/magnesuim/vitaminD3. There is a product called "Liquid Target-Mins" by Country Life.
Avatar f tn m hoping Quix will see this and advise, it links to a post by Georgious some days ago. Am I right in thinking that you said there is a list of supplements not advisable for auto-immune sufferers. I have looked but can't see it anywhere.
Avatar f tn Not so!! Some vitamins actually stay in your body. Vitamins are broken up into two categories: fat soluble, such as A, D, E or K, and water soluble, including all of the B vitamins and vitamin C. Fat-soluble vitamins stay in your body, whereas water-soluble vitamins are absorbed immediately, with any excess being excreted in urine.
535822 tn?1443976780 There are some really good multi-vitamins out there that include a lot of the minerals. Read the labels and you should find one that covers most of your needs. In most cases you just need to add extra calcium, vitamin D and vitamin C in my experience.
2192208 tn?1346525832 I don't take the tylenol pm every night, nor is it good to do so. If you're not deficient in a vitamin/mineral, I don't think it really does any good to take supplements for it. Like B12 or selenium. I have pernicious anemia so must take the shots to keep my levels up. I also tested low for selenium, which is probably why I can tell a difference.
