Chemo kills it. Glutamine is a supplement sold at GNC stores and health food places. It's a powder that you can mix with pudding, lemonade, etc. I used one tablespoon of it, mixed with an 8-ounce glass of water, as a mouthwash. Incredible stuff.

Avatar f tn Please research a powder called glutamine. It is naturally produced in the intestines, and gets killed by chemo. It helped my neuropathy a lot during chemo. It's tasteless; you can mix it with juice or pudding, etc. Except during chemo! Then for some reason it tastes like, uh, donkey poo.

I can't say that I know anything about the brand you are using but I will share my experience. I also use whey protein, the exact type is the GNC Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60. It has worked really well since I don't get to eat as properly as I should with work and school. I stack that with GNC's Amplified Creatine and Glutamine powder.

Avatar m tn This confirms hopeful12345 finding of Rice Protein Powder which contained all 20 amino acids to be better than just taking glutamine alone. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. It’s needed in liver detoxification processes. It’s needed in healing the gut lining too. Any repair process in the body, amino acids are needed since everything is protein with other food groups scattered in between. We need to follow this research because it will give us more information.

Avatar f tn In addition to the probiotics and fiber, i now take Krill Oil, L-Glutamine, Magnesium, pepsin and butters, slippery elm, multivitamins, and Vitamin B supplements (Active B Complex). I also work out every day. Now I don’t get bad diarrhea unless I eat dairy, soda, high sugar sweets, and spicy foods. But my stool is still bulky and very soft (almost powdery in a way because it turns to powder when I flush) and I see bits of food in it.

Avatar f tn - please click on his name and read all of his posts especially his last two - which talks about taking L-glutamine powder/capsules along with lots of fruits/veggies, lots of water - use Stevia instead of Sugar, no coffee and reduce dairy products. You can do this, God is with you !!!!!!

Then I rubbed wintergreen alchohol on my feet and legs up to my knees. It offered a little relief. If you try this, you might spot test as the alcohol may have more of a drying effect than a soothing one. You can also ask her doctor about Glutamine powder.
