Avatar f tn Impaired renal function can lead to the accumulation of metformin, and elevated concentrations of metformin have been associated with lactic acidosis.
Avatar n tn I have been taking L-Glutamine for GERD, slow gastric emptying and it has certainly improved my condition to the point where I can eat and digest nearly as normally as when I was an adolescent and could eat and usually did eat practically everything. Although now I am much more careful as to what I eat, how and when. I lift weights quite regularly and could see some interesting positive effects of glutamine supplementation on my recovery and sustained muscle belly volume also.
Avatar m tn 1. Is there any advantage in favour of this suplements over regular food? (for example when taking a PostWorkoutMeal) Is it necessary to use it? (to maximize the effect of workout of course) 2. What is recommended daily dose for protein for a healthy male who workouts with weights 4 times per week? (the usual story is 2g per kg so is it true?) 3. Is there any unwanted consequences in case of overdose? for instance kidney problems, or maybe low holesterol?

Avatar m tn Before I start consuming the glutamine I use to loss 5 pounds every 2 weeks. Is the glutamine making a weight loss restriction for me?
Avatar m tn I'm so worried! This is her the reaction to her first dosis this time and the nurse at the clinic didn't let her see the physician and made no blood tests whatsoever regarding her one impaired kidney when she went there yesterday, and send her back home with "that's normal". But I know on weekends they like to turn people away... My mom was diagnosed with another boust of OC earlier this year. She already had it once, 6 years ago.
Avatar f tn My brother is suffering from celiac disease from last few months. Exact time we are not aware but we came to know about it when doctor told us to go through some blood test for it and endoscopy. Can you please let me know about the actual treatment for this disease and he is having rashes on his face as well as on his back due to this disease.
Avatar f tn Over the past year I have lost a lot of weight and am experiencing many 'IBS-like' symptoms. This includes stomach aches, varying food transit times (often very fast), undigested food in stools, blood in stools and large amounts of mucus in stools. I have since been diagnosed with coeliac disease, pancreatic insufficiency and have been told that I have 'complex malabsorption problems' that the doctors can't seem to put a name on?
1806721 tn?1554333407 Thx! Had EGD last wk, still waiting for biopsy, GI dr didn't think it was Celiac. My PCP sent me to DXA to eval how bad things are. Already added probiotics. Will try L-arginine, but I also have GERD, hope I can tolerate it. Cannot take L-glutamine as dr suspecting liver/gallbladder disease right now. It's horrifying to see how much muscle/bone mass I lost and how much my health deteriorated over just a couple years.
Avatar n tn Hello, The symptoms are definitely suggestive of kidney disease. You should get an ultrasound kidneys and kidney function tests done to confirm the diagnosis. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn I would encourage both of you to talk with his endocrinologist about looking into possible changes that can bring his a1c levels well down below 7. That truly is his best protection not only against kidney disease, but against other complications. If sugar levels are maintained at near normal levels, damage cannot happen.
Avatar f tn I have a 14 year old cocker spaniel who was recently diagnosed with kidney disease. She originally got sick a few weeks ago with pacreatitis, and when she recovered her lab work showed the kidney problems. We have been giving her fluids every other night as well as the epakitin powder with her food. Her blood report was better this last time. However she seems pretty good, has a good appetite ect and I'm wondering if there is anything else that could be causing this disease?
Avatar m tn i have kidney disease my creantine 2.12 my gfr 33.5 my normal is 1.
Avatar f tn Im very sick and cant get anyone to help. Avatar f tn Hi there, about a month and a half ago I started feeling like something was always under both my ribs and it has been persistently like this and it's really uncomfortable, I'm also always itchy at night and have been feeling really dizzy and lightheaded constantly. I've went to my doctors and they took my bloods and all that came up was that my potassium levels were slightly high.

387767 tn?1345872027 Be sure to discuss all recommended vaccines with your veterinarian. A cat with kidney disease or kidney failure should not be vaccinated at all. Long-term feeding of an all-dry-food diet is also suspected as a factor in Chronic Renal Failure. Cats' kidneys are highly efficient and adapted to life in the desert, where they would get most or all of their water from eating their prey.

Avatar m tn Obviously, he has severe anemia and no amount of iron will fix this kind. I have never heard of chemotherapy for kidney disease or kidney damage. I have kidney damage (kidney disease) due to an autoimmune disease. Kidney function is at 26% now, up from 20%. Autoimmune disease is in remission since I had all the mercury fillings removed from my teeth.

Avatar m tn >> In my case glutamine and collagen make my reactions worse. That's interesting, I've never heard of that. I know other PATMERs who benefit from it too so I'm surprise it doesn't work for you. There's another thing you have to take in mind. A proper died is compulsory. If you eat KFC, MacDonald, bread, butter etc. it almost makes no different. >> What brand glutamine you take ?! I took "L-Glutamine" from Jarrow Formulas. I always take it with Collagen.
Avatar n tn My boyfriend is into weight-lifting, and is constantly trying new things to gain muscle, maintain muscle, whatever. I am a nursing student, who has learned a lot about nutrition and things, and it doesnt seem healthy to me. I have access to many journal databases online, and ahve tried to look up many of the things he has tried, such as GH inhancers and amino acids, trying to find out if it's safe and works, or if it is a waste of money. Today he bought something called NO Shotgun.
