Glucose vs sucrose

Common Questions and Answers about Glucose vs sucrose

glucose

Avatar m tn t make the difference when talking about sugars because even if it is fructose, lactose or sucrose or glucose and even if it's from a candy or a vegetable, in the end they will all end up being glucose in your body. What does make a point tho is that complex carbohydrates take longer time to break down in your body to that means the blood glucose remains more stable. Complex carbohydrates are startchy food like patatoes, rice and pastas.
610738 tn?1263111556 Sweet (no pun intended ha!) yeah i'd like that list i'll send you a private message...even if it's old i'd like it because I'm having a problem finding any lists online. Like there's just not much out there on the subject....which is suprising, you'd think there would be much more info on it. I know I was struggling through work last week, and I've been starving myself trying to find answers (no soy/corn/wheat/dairy...
315737 tn?1407298997 These changes are also thought to be markers for aging. The scientists say that it is the fructose molecule in the sucrose, not the glucose, that plays the larger part.20 Because it is metabolized by the liver, fructose does not cause the pancreas to release insulin the way it normally does. Fructose converts to fat more than any other sugar. This may be one of the reasons Americans continue to get fatter. Fructose raises serum triglycerides significantly.
Avatar m tn Yomike, I strongly suggest you to consider "low-FODMAP diet" (search online). Basically it means avoiding sugars like glucose, sucrose, fructose and lactose ..one or more of these often cause bloating and diarrhea in people diagnosed with IBS.
Avatar n tn Hi Vanessa, Thank you so much for your advice, I am using " Burt's Bees Hand Soap Citrus & Ginger Root " to clean my whole body and nowadys my penis gets sweaty as usual but white liquid does not stick over it and I am not feeling itching too. Red Dots are not that dark now but they are vanishing it completely, please help me in removing those too (suggest any cream).
Avatar m tn They contain fructose, but the main problem is not fructose itself but high fructose/glucose ratio (amount of fructose greatly exceeding amount of glucose). For example, table sugar (sucrose) contains equal (1:1) amounts of fructose and glucose and is typically well tolerated by many (not all) individuals with FM. It is because glucose enhances absorption of fructose in the small intestine. So, adding pure glucose to apple pie to make fructose/glucose ratio 1:1 could help.
773755 tn?1328119777 how 'natural' are xylitol and stevia? they at the health food store assure me that it's natural :) sounds so artificial! tastes okay. i'm off glucose and sucrose for a couple weeks. this is to help restore some balance in my gut microbia. and it's working by the way! i must have my cup of tea! in fact it was the ONLY thing i looked forward to in the day, for a few dark months back there... weird huh. is one any better than the other?
675347 tn?1365460645 Certain harmful refined dietary sugars (which are specifically discussed below) almost always turn directly into fat! Glucose, Fructose, Sucrose, Galactose, Maltose, and Lactose are digested and absorbed with such speed that the body must convert them into saturated fats. Saturated Fatty Acids are "sticky" by nature, and, when introduced into the vascular system, clog arteries, increase the chance of stroke, diabetes, and definitively decrease athletic performance.

660872 tn?1238641245 Hi, does anyone know why iron sucrose can't be given as a total dose infusion? Everything I can find on the net says that it has to be given in 100mg doses to a maximum of 3 doses a week. The largest dose I could find is 200mgs at time. I need 1,000 to 1500mgs and would rather have it all at once. I can't have iron dextran due to severe reactions. Has anyone here had larger doses? Any problems?
Avatar f tn jsp My suggestion is low or no sugar and stay away from bad carbs for the latter will jack up his glucose levels. For a list of good carbs vs bad carbs go here http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art6628.
Avatar n tn It may seem counterintuitive but hunger and glucose levels are two separate processes. Hunger is what your body craves vs excess sugar circulating in your blood stream. Make sense?
Avatar f tn carbonated water, sucrose, glucose, sodium citrate, taurine, glucuronolactone, caffeine, inositol, niacin, D-pantothenol, pyridoxine HCL, vitamin B12, artificial flavours, colors. After water, the next 2 main ingredients are sugar. That is certainly not good for you. It won't hurt the baby, as long as you are eating well and this is additional. Then there is caffeine, a number of vitamins and other nutrients, and chemicals. The caffeine probably won't hurt the baby in small amounts.
362249 tn?1441315018 corn syrup, dextrose, sucrose, etc. Again do a search to get a more extensive list.
Avatar f tn I would say that there could be a relation yes, at least theoretically, but an endocrinologist would be able to answer this question correctly.
Avatar n tn Hello. I posted a few weeks ago regarding concern about my bloog glucose. To sum up, I had never had a fasting blood glucose, have diabetes in my family, so decided to get a home monitor, see where I stood (given I am still in my 20's but not in good shape - getting there, exercising now, but wanted a baseline).
11079965 tn?1415126517 Does anyone know if i can drink water before my glucose test they just told me not to eat but i forgot to ask if i can drink water????
Avatar m tn I am very familar and did the clinical trials with the FDA for Sucraid (the oral meds used to tolerage Sucrose). It is so interesting to hear and see new faces with this disease. We have full mutation of the disease so we can not with stand any sucrose. For us we went 16 years with out the drug, but now I can't imagine (although possible) going with out. It is truley amazing to hear of stories, for my sister and I it seemed like forever and we were the only ones.
Avatar n tn My fasting glucose results (Glucose Plasma-Hexokinase), three in last three months have been in the range of 108-120 mg/dL (normal range 70 - 100). In my last test I also got the HbA1c checked, it is: High Performance Liquid Chromatography-HPCL = 5.5 % (normal range 4.27 -6.07) The question is that fasting glocose test is indicating high glucose level but HbA1c in reasonably below the max. value. Which one is to be relied upon? Shall I be concerned at these glucose levels? Thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn The term “sugar” in the AHA’s calculation refers to added sweeteners including sucrose, high fructose corn syrup, dextrose, glucose, maltose and several more; it does not include natural sugars found in foods like fruit, milk and beans. Table sugar’s caloric contribution may be small when used in moderation, but it can play a role in obesity and dental problems.
Avatar m tn a low normal glucose level vs normal high glucose level has also been found to have lower rates of all cancers and higher life expectancy when cancer is already developed.......
973741 tn?1342342773 Hi, is there a reason they can't sip some fast carbs in small amounts throughout? Nausea would most likely be caused by large amounts of food and by fats. Sucrose might be best for energy replenishment between high intensity events with rest periods (like CrossFit), because it's more insulinogenic than glucose/starch. If sucrose is a problem, or if there are no rest periods, there's maltodextrin or dextrose.
Avatar f tn I went to my doc and she gave me Cipro for about 7 days redid uti test and my blood pressure was 107/70 and the glucose from the previous test showed glucose levels were in the "normal' range. Ok let me just say I'm a bit freaked out. My biology teacher told us a story of how he was hiking the grand canyon and fell off is horse and had bloody urine (knowing he had damaged himself ), and knew he needed medical help. Here I am no injury and I'm have red bloody urine.
Avatar n tn When label reading what do I stay away from? What sugars are acceptable...sucrose, glucose, table sugar? Any insight and information you can provide would be helpful. Is it at all possible that either the test is inaccurate OR could my stomach be so down and out due to stress...yes I have a lot of it (4 kids and a husband :) )that my stomach was stripped and now needs to heal and then maybe I can tolerate fructose again.
