Glucose unit conversion

Common Questions and Answers about Glucose unit conversion

glucose

Avatar n tn In order to provide the correct measuring unit it would help to know your country of origin. This is what the Stanford School of Medicine says in mg/dl. You will have to do the mmol/l conversion as needed: Infant - Normal glucose levels for infants are between 40 and 200 mg/dl. Constant levels, however, lower than 50 mg/dl leads to neurolgical damage. Children up to 5 For children up to age 5, normal blood sugar targets are 100 to 200mg/dL.

Avatar m tn best thing is that you retest with architect for both hbsag and hbsab, then if you find hbsab less than 10miu/ml just have vaccine again
Avatar m tn I would like to buy some glucometer for continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Do you have any personal experience with this type of monitoring? Can you recommend me any device? Thanks a lot.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm currently using a minimed 715 paradigm, and love it! My sister works for Medtronics and has the NEW New Real Time system. The brand new glucose sensor is about the size of a nickel around, and is not as thick as the model shown in the pictures. I've see the real time unit in action, it still has some minor issues with exact glucose readings, but it's great watching the trends in real time, Which are showing glucose values very accurate, during my observation.
Avatar f tn Whats the difference between labor and delivery and the mother/baby unit?? I'm confused I guess lol.
Avatar f tn Hello, there is not an easy conversion between unit syringes and cc syringes and you have a very high risk of overdosing (= dangerous). If you are in US you might be able to buy some unit syringes over the counter at wall mart chemist or another chemist. It is very important that you control your blood sugar well. Although it is not widely discussed, it is possible to reuse insulin syringes providing:- 1.
Avatar f tn Hello, Your blood sugar results to OGTT seem to be totally normal. In normal people blood glucose will be in the 70 - 90s range regardless of what you eat or drink. Why was an OGTT performed? Did your doctor test insulin at the same time that they tested blood glucose?
1001981 tn?1293978481 Your FT4 and TSH look good, but your FT3 is low. This would indicate a conversion problem. However, you have a number of other current issues and a history of even more, so it confuses everything. Have you ever had any liver or kidney problems, and have you had any recent liver and kidney function studies? I ask only because a good part of the T4 to T3 conversion happens in the liver and kidneys.
Avatar f tn Also my T3 FREE is measured in PG/ML (2.45) and T4 measured in NG/DL (0.31) which also is a different unit of measure than the tracking chart... What is the conversion between AU and IU?
Avatar n tn I know this is different for everyone - but generally, what is the ratio for the # of mg/dml units dropped by 1 unit of insulin. Like Humalog U100 R. Does anyone know? Lilly (the mfg. of Humalog) said that they didn't have those numbers (I didn't believe that). Just curious. I asked a Diabetes Trainers from my hospital and she didn't have an idea either.
Avatar f tn There is a diference both in the hbA1c and the readings on the glucose meters depending upon the hematcrit, or the number of erythrocytes per unit volume. The meters are calibrated to a specific number of cells per unit volume, which is a compromise between the readings of the male and the female. Males have a hematcrit of around 46 and females, because of menstrual bleeding, often end up between 36 and 38.
Avatar f tn If you are talking about the weight tracker on MedHelp, then you can add your weight in pounds only. For conversion you will need a conversion scale. You can change the unit on an application only if there are multiple provisions to add in your weight in different systems. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn Insulin and C-peptide are produced by the body at the same rate as part of the conversion of proinsulin to insulin in the pancreas. The test for insulin measures insulin from both sources while the C-peptide test reflects insulin produced by the pancreas. Reference values are dependent on many factors, including patient age, gender, test method, and numeric test results can have different meanings in different labs. For these reasons, you will not find reference ranges on iNet.
Avatar m tn Been on Viread since end of March 2012. My quantitative PCR in Nov. 11 was 17587; Feb 2012 was 7895, May 2012 was 63. So there is a reduction in HBV DNA, which is great....but Is there a "conversion" from PCR to IU/ml? Can I tell from these results if it good to start Pegasys as an add-on yet, or can you only base this on levels of hbsag? Also how are the treatment programs of stef2011and grmr coming along?
Avatar f tn If his blood sugar had been low, cereal is not the proper treatment as it will not raise glucose quickly enough. Glucose tablets are much more accurate and rapid. He needs to learn more about managing his blood sugar.
194838 tn?1303428544 I do not test my own blood but am sent to the hospital for fairly regular tests but notice that when people post with their blood glucose levels they are in the 100s. I am from the UK and wonder if there is a conversion chart because I think it would be more beneficial if I could compare with others on the forum to get a sense of how im doing for comparison, Any advise would be greatly appreciated .
Avatar f tn Just wanted to ask all mums with gestational diabetes, when you check your glucose levels with a monitor how long after a meal are you required to do so? What's the maximum mmol you should be or aim for? Just curious, coz here in the UK they expect us to achieve a job max of 7.5mmol an HOUR after a meal! It's very difficult....
Avatar f tn Because the Lantus lasts for 24 hours, the way we do this is to back off one unit of the evening dose the first night, and take a 1-unit shot the next morning. A couple of days later, we reduce the evening dose by 1 more unit and add it to the morning dose the next morning, etc. until the right balance is found. Many of us do need to end up taking some Lantus at night so our sugar levels don't rise while we sleep.
Avatar n tn Hello, To me, I hope that I am wrong, you are likely a pre-diabetic, either type 1 or 2 . Question: Why with a single and random glucose reading at 165, that I conclude such guessing. Answer:It's very simply, a 5th grader can conclude the same thing as I did. Why? Because a non diabetic reading is almost always less then 120, even 1 hr. after meal.
Avatar n tn If very low before a meal, then I would take glucose to correct the low. Note that 15 g of glucose may be too much. You need to work out how much 1 g of glucose will raise your sugars. If I was say 49.... I would probably only take 10g of sugar/ glucose. Then i would eat my meal as planned once sugars started coming up... but being a bit cautious about the bolus amount to cover meals.
Avatar n tn Did anyone here have any experience with the new mini med continous glucose system ? Do you guys think that it really works and is worth getting it ? I think the idea is great and would improve control greatly.
