Glucose test pregnancy normal range

Common Questions and Answers about Glucose test pregnancy normal range

glucose

Avatar f tn Does a persons age play a factor for their "normal" fasting glucose range? During my last visit to my 82 yo mother, I happened to see her test results that showed her fasting glucose range topping out at 180 mg. I, on the other hand, being 60 yo & under immunosuppressant meds have a range from 50 - 150 mg, yet I constantly hear the normal range is 70 - 120. Both of our blood samples are tested at the same lab too. So what is the "normal" fasting glucose range?
Avatar f tn Please can someone explain to me what exactly is this glucose test all about.
Avatar f tn If you fail the glucose test means you have gestational diabetes thats what the glucose test is for
11195379 tn?1427921527 How many of you failed the 1hour glucose test but passed the 3hour test? I had 162 and the highest you can get is 139. So my sugar was high. I tried doing the 3hour test today and puked so I have to do it again.
9884089 tn?1406756206 I failed my one hour test. The lady said I was 142 and the normal range is 136 or something like that. Is it bad or low enough that I shouldn't worry? I have the 3 hour test Wednesday I really hope I don't have gd.
Avatar n tn If that number is in the normal range, you probably have little to be concerned about. If you have not had a hemoglobin a1c test done, you may want to ask your doctor about doing it. It would give a better indication of how well your pancreas is doing in regulating your sugars than random tests or fasting glucose tests.
Avatar n tn Please help. My daughter is 3 months old. When she was three weeks she was hospitalized because her soft spot was full, and she was lathargic and dehydrated. Since then she has been hospitalized several times for dehydration. The doctors have run blood tests and they did a spinal tap, and found nothing. Her sugar levels were at 107 four hours after eating and the doctor told me to take her for a glucose test, however the endocrnologist said that 107 was normal and wouldn't do the test.
Avatar f tn I'm 31 years old, second pregnancy and was told I failed the 1 hour glucose test. The reading was 150. I'm very upset over this since I normally eat healthy and cannot pinpoint the cause. The 3 hour test will take place on Monday and I'm hoping the numbers are normal. Has anyone experienced this? Any tips?
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever refused a glucose test? I have normal pregnancy and no risk factors for diabetes. All of this is out of pocket cost and honestly I'm a person who prefers little interventions and honestly I feel this is a waste of time if I have no indicators.
Avatar f tn I failed the 1 hour with really high levels which is very weird considering I am Hypoglycemic. I was worried about it but after doing the 3 hour test everything came back in normal range. Its actually very normal to fail the 1 hour. Don't try to do anything differently because if you do have GD you will need to have it controlled and be monitored. Honestly even with that high of levels(mine was about the same) the results of the 3 hour may come back completely fine. So try not to worry.
1813627 tn?1337722375 Had about 10 viles of blood taken which I gather is normal the first time. They also had be do an hour blood glucose test done which I thought was done later in pregnancy. So today I had to go for a 3 hr test sinces yesterday my number was 141 and they wanted me to be under 135. Anyone that can shed some light on this would be wonderful.
Avatar f tn Anyone know much about Glucose numbers? I had a test and they said number came back high and want me to retest. I asked what number was and they said 113. I asked them even after eating and that is high . .nurse said yes and come retest. All research I find says 113 is within normal to low range for after eating . . . anyone know anything on this?
Avatar f tn I had it with my last pregnancy. This time I had to do the 3 hr test twice but luckily I passed. You will have to cut out sweets and watch your carb intake. I would eat several small meals a day about 2 to 3 hours apart snf make sure to only have 1 serving of carbs at each meal. If you are hungry in-between then snack on protein ie: beef jerky, string cheese, chicken chunks, tuna. It also helps to walk 15 minutes after each meal.
Avatar n tn The test you need to ask to have done on you is a glucose tolerance test. This test starts out with a simple blood test to determine your resting glucose levels. Then, you drink a sweet syrupy drink and blood is drawn at different times after this to see what happens to your glucose levels. If you have an episode of reactive hypoglycemia during this test, it will show up.
Avatar n tn I'm a 53 year old woman who just had a 3 hour glucose tolerance test, here are my results: Fasting - 106 1 hour - 210 2 hour - 230 3 hour - 167 I'm not sure if these results mean I'm a pre-diabetic or diabetic. Thank you for your help in advance.
Avatar m tn ESR is age related. Normal range for men under 50 years old= less than 15 mm/hr, so you are above that. There can be many causes for the elevation like anemia, kidney disease, thyroid disease, but also an infection.
Avatar m tn ve had blood glucose tests, and the normal blood test done (cbc, wbc?) A few times, and they all came back normal. The only abnormal test i ever had was Vitamin D, it was extremely low at 4.
Avatar f tn I did mine yesterday at 4 35pm and they didn't make me fast.the normal range is 65-139. I tested 150 so now i have the 3hr test thursday morning. Im very depressed, what was your score?
Avatar n tn I had to do the 3hr glucose test with this pregnancy. I never felt sick though. I only felt queezy when i was drinking the bottom of the bottle since all the sugar settled. By the time i left the lab though i was really weak and shakey. I was starving. I passed the 3hr test thankfully.
Avatar m tn I triggered a reading in the diabetic range the first 2 hour test. (I ate a sandwich before the test, oops) and then had to do the confirming test of 4 hours glucose test. That was about zero fun, I'll tell you. But with that one, my blood sugar was normal (I fasted properly). You've had both tests and your sugar is still high? The normal range is below 7.8 and it is gestational diabetes over 11. At least your number isn't over 11. I also think you were tested early.
