Common Questions and Answers about Glucose syrup nutrition

glucose

Avatar n tn I have been researching lifestyle factors (in alternative as well as conventional literature) in breast cancer, including nutrition. I have received conflicting information in the literature. I have read that white refined sugar promotes tumor growth, while unrefined sugars, e.g. fructose, maple syrup, agave nectar, etc., do not, and are therefore safe to consume.
1855970 tn?1325823613 My hands, they smell like maple syrup! I know it sounds insane, but they literally smell like maple syrup. At work today, a coworker asked if I had pancakes for lunch... I havent had pancakes in like 2 weeks. I havent eaten any syrup in 2 weeks or more, and I havent touched anything like that. What in the world is going on with me???
1773108 tn?1314158067 It's good to see that you care about your boyfriends well being. What he needs to understand is that popping pills - being supplements or drugs - will not cure diabetes alone. Education is a key; he needs to get educated on diabetes control and management by going to the American Diabetes Association [ADA] web site. Click the links at the top of this page - Health Tools, Health Information for additional educational material so he can start to get his health back in order.
Avatar n tn Easy on the rigorous exercise for it can cause more harm than good. And, yes, to watching his nutrition/diet. Proper nutrition along with moderate exercise is the key. Avoid bad carbs, sugar and man made products. Avoid drinks laden with added sweeteners like corn syrup and fructose.
Avatar f tn Maybe try some fruit popsicles, but really look at the ingredients or make your own. Try not to get any with high fructose corn syrup! Protein shakes have been good for me, so that's a good suggestion. My hubby had a chocolate whey protein he didn't like so I took over it. I know how your feeling. Nothing sounds good to eat at all and the only thing I can eat with out feeling sick afterwards is Mexican food (& I don't normally eat anything with meat at Mexican restaurants).
Avatar f tn 2% is equivalent to 131 mg/dl daily glucose average. Sometime during the day your levels are not OK, or your meter is need of calibration and/or test strips are not within their expiration period. "I snack late and may eat nuts, yougurt, or sugar free coffee." During sleeping hours your liver and body fat releases stored glucose in expectation for the energy you need upon wakening. Bad snacks add to the stored glucose which in turn gets dumped. Make sense?
Avatar f tn //www.diabetes.org/nutrition-and-recipes/nutrition/overview.jsp My suggestion is low or no sugar and stay away from bad carbs for the latter will jack up his glucose levels. For a list of good carbs vs bad carbs go here http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art6628.

315737 tn?1407298997 These changes are also thought to be markers for aging. The scientists say that it is the fructose molecule in the sucrose, not the glucose, that plays the larger part.20 Because it is metabolized by the liver, fructose does not cause the pancreas to release insulin the way it normally does. Fructose converts to fat more than any other sugar. This may be one of the reasons Americans continue to get fatter. Fructose raises serum triglycerides significantly.
Avatar m tn It helps, if you ingest some pure glucose (available as dextrose or glucodin, or glucose syrup) along with the food high in fructose. This won't help with foods high in sorbitol though. Glucose helps in absorption of fructose. And, crystalfresh, its important to remember that fructose, sorbitol and wheat can all irritate you. Some are tolerant to wheat others are not, so you have to find this out. Also: Fructose malabsorption is NOT an allergy.
Avatar f tn That's what color colostrum is. Like honey or maple syrup.

Avatar f tn Im 21 weeks pregnant. The last couple days my urine has had a maple syrup smell to it. I had a waffle with some maple syrup on it yesterday morning, but this is the first time, even when eating the waffles earlier in this pregnancy, that this has happened. Any one else experience this and if so what happened?
Avatar f tn It's kind of like a melted freezie pop. It's a sugary syrup but not quite as thick as table syrup. My advice is take small sips and wait 5-10 seconds between sips. They give you 5 minutes to drink it, which is a lot of time. Even doing the small sips I finished in about 2.5-3 minutes. My friend chugged it and then after 20 minutes she barfed and had to do it again.

Tbd Yes, sodas contain high-fructose corn syrup which is a simple sugar. This means that it is rapidly metabolized resulting in a rapid increase in blood glucose. This in turn leads to the rapid release of insulin which performs the role of "escorting" the glucose into your cells in order to produce ATP. Simply stated, ATP is what fuels our bodies.

Avatar m tn In mice studies, coriander seeds, from the cilantro plant, encouraged the pancreas to produce more insulin-the hormone that helps shuttle glucose into the cells to be burned as energy. This prevents excess blood sugars from being stored as fat. Cilantro leaves have the same benefits. Tarragon The Benefit: By increasing the secretion of bile and acids into the stomach, tarragon improves gastric efficiency and whets the appetite.
