315737 tn?1407298997 I found insure to have too much corn sugar, the main ingredient,ya better off with a good whey powder from a health store and mix ur own..
Avatar f tn s full of gmo corn syrup, FLAME RETARDANT and more high corn fructose corn syrup and other poisonous ingredients. Please check out food babe.com or Google food babe. It's sad that these "health professionals/fda" approve this sh*@ and give it pregnant women! I'm not taking it this time!
Tbd Yes, sodas contain high-fructose corn syrup which is a simple sugar. This means that it is rapidly metabolized resulting in a rapid increase in blood glucose. This in turn leads to the rapid release of insulin which performs the role of "escorting" the glucose into your cells in order to produce ATP. Simply stated, ATP is what fuels our bodies.
1855970 tn?1325823613 My hands, they smell like maple syrup! I know it sounds insane, but they literally smell like maple syrup. At work today, a coworker asked if I had pancakes for lunch... I havent had pancakes in like 2 weeks. I havent eaten any syrup in 2 weeks or more, and I havent touched anything like that. What in the world is going on with me???
Avatar f tn U don't have to but it's for ur health and mostly for the health of ur baby I had it with my first daughter and she was born with pulmonary hypertension (baby high blood pressure) due to the gd and they found out while I still could plan to have a sick baby she was in the nicu for 11 days and stayed on oxygen for a month! She's almost 4 now and ready to be a big sis! I've passed my 1hr this time but I will take it 2-3 more times to make sure baby #2 is ok!
Avatar f tn The orange one tastes like cough syrup it was NASSSTTY lol
8727253 tn?1400194561 I'm having my glucose test tomorrow ! And I'm nervous I know you have to drink something then wait then they take blood . But is the drink nasty ?
Avatar f tn Yeah Exactly like she said about the orange soda but between the consistency of water and syrup and about the same sweetness of syrup. It's awful!
Avatar n tn s what I did and the gave me some syrup type of stuff it was based on glucose I think.
Avatar f tn And did you have any after affects of the sweet syrup nasty crap?? Like I feel nauseated, and burping a LOT and occasionally I get really really hot and feel like I'll pass out... Has anyone experienced this at all?? I also just found out that I have chlamydia o.o my ob has prescribed me a one time dose of medication that I'll be picking up and taking tomorrow.
Avatar f tn Im 21 weeks pregnant. The last couple days my urine has had a maple syrup smell to it. I had a waffle with some maple syrup on it yesterday morning, but this is the first time, even when eating the waffles earlier in this pregnancy, that this has happened. Any one else experience this and if so what happened?
Avatar f tn It's kind of like a melted freezie pop. It's a sugary syrup but not quite as thick as table syrup. My advice is take small sips and wait 5-10 seconds between sips. They give you 5 minutes to drink it, which is a lot of time. Even doing the small sips I finished in about 2.5-3 minutes. My friend chugged it and then after 20 minutes she barfed and had to do it again.

Avatar f tn (I know people will rail against white rice but whole grain or brown rice contain too much anti-nutrients and can cause leaky gut syndrome) Make sure to eat those starches with protein and fat to help reduce the spikes of glucose. Do not go low fat, your growing baby NEEDS saturated fat in order to build healthy neuro-processors. Just stay away from trans-fats (mostly found in processed foods). Also, eliminate as much unnecessary sugars from your diets, or limit them to infrequent treats.
Avatar f tn My midwives test by having you fast like normal, do the finger prick, then go out and eat a big breakfast with lots of carbs - like pancakes and syrup and OJ etc - in place of the syrup drink. That makes much more sense to me.
Avatar f tn tomorrow morning I go for my 1 hour glucose test! Can anyone tell me what I'm going to have to do? I'm aware you drink a syrup kind of drink.. Do they give you a blood test or do you pee in a cup? I have a fear of needles, granted I'm ok with it because it's for my twins! I just want to know before I go so their is no surprises!
Avatar f tn Once the symptoms of extreme thirst, frequent urination, skin problems not healing properly, feeling nausea when hungry and itchy skin, constant fungal problems, would point to a diagnoses of diabetes. The doctor would either order a glucose test or a blood test to check HBA1C levels. The HBA1C blood test shows the average blood sugar over a period of 3 months. If the sugar level in the body is high, this would be detected in a urine specimen test using the urine test strips.
Avatar m tn I have found that things made with brown rice syrup taste very sweet to me. There are health food stores that sell some very tasty snacks. But, it is a life style change, that's for sure! My husband is supportive and has lost some weight as well. Best wishes on your quest for better health. Sorry for the long rant! I have turned into quite a zealot. OH, I used to have an insatiable sweet tooth. Gone!
Avatar f tn t done much research on GD but does your sugar intake have anything to do with it? Everything I want to eat or drink has to do with sugar, from coffees to sweet breads, ice cream, syrup, pop, anything sweet. Is this normal? I haven't done the GD test and I'm 31 wks. The reason is because I've had no health insurance. Please help!
Avatar f tn Hi ladies. Have any of you been required to do a 1st trimester blood glucose 1hr screening? Because of my age (36) and being overweight (224lbs at 5'5") I have been ordered to take a first trimester blood glucose test to check for diabetes early. I cannot tell you how awful it is to be here, empty stomach fasting, and have to drink that syrupy stuff when I'm still in the throws of 1st trimester nausea. Trying not to throw up. But already dizzy.
Avatar m tn It helps, if you ingest some pure glucose (available as dextrose or glucodin, or glucose syrup) along with the food high in fructose. This won't help with foods high in sorbitol though. Glucose helps in absorption of fructose. And, crystalfresh, its important to remember that fructose, sorbitol and wheat can all irritate you. Some are tolerant to wheat others are not, so you have to find this out. Also: Fructose malabsorption is NOT an allergy.
Avatar f tn I was really worried about throwing up so make sure not to eat cereal or oatmeal or anything with syrup:)

Avatar f tn I have to take the glucose test on the 18th.The nurse said its sweet but my doctor said its nasty. Is it really that bad???
Avatar f tn So Friday I failed my 1hr glucose test.. now I have to fast for 10 hrs and take a 3hr glucose test.. only problem is I can't handle the 100g of sugar drink they give you... I tried taking the test on Sunday at the hospital lab... but 17 minutes after drinking that "syrup" sugar drink I got sick and vomited.. now I have to RETAKE IT :( I am planning on going tomorrow morning to try and take the test again... any ideas that might help me keep this drink down??
Avatar n tn My eight year old son, who was diagnosed more than two years ago, does follow a set meal and snack routine. He has breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus snacks at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and before bedtime. He's to have 50-60 grams of carbs at meal time, and 20-30 at snack time. The only restriction he is under is that he must drink diet soda or Crystal Light (no regular drinks with sugar -- except juice when he is low), and must use sugar-free pancake syrup.
Avatar f tn //www.drugs.com/sfx/pravastatin-side-effects.html#consumer_Pravastatin Have you discussed this with your doctor? If you take other drugs and/or supplements check with your pharmacist regarding drug interactions.
Avatar f tn Anemic just means you have low iron, so you could possibly have both, but what you ate that day can affect the results of the test. That is the reason why you have to fast before the 3 hour test.
