1399363 tn?1462342610 Histamine occurs naturally in certain foods and an enzyme called diamine oxidase, which is present in our body breaks down the histamine which we absorb from food. Deficiency of this enzyme can cause histamine intolerance. Among the naturally occurring fruits and vegetables some can be rich in histamines and some promote the release of histamine from mast cells. So, with consumption of food the reactions can vary.
Avatar n tn I recently did a glucose fasting test. The test states that normal is 70 - 100 mmg/dL. My result is 128. The test also found that I have a "slight" bladder infection that I was prescribed an antibotic for. It must be slight, as I have no discomfort at all. I am taking the antibotic now. My question is: could the infection effect the number 128? How do I lower the glucose number? what foods effect glucose?
Avatar f tn Did my glucose test today how long until I hear backnif I passed or failed?
Avatar n tn My sister uses raw honey, but that too will spike your blood glucose levels. I'd try to find a coffee that you enjoy without having to add sugar if you can't get around the aftertaste of Stevia.
Avatar f tn so i had my glucose test done this morning. i dont know if i pass or not. my friend also had a glucose test this morning, same laboratory and they did call her back to resched an appointment. i didnt get any call though. so does that mean i pass? or is it ok to call the lab for my result?
Avatar m tn Hi ☺ my mother fast blood glucose level in morning is always between 100 and 120. Does this means she is diabetics and need insolin or she is just prediabetics. She only uses metformin 500mg twice a day with her meals. A1c is 6 and her blood glucoz level two our after meal is usually 120.
Avatar f tn Hello, I've never been concerned about diabetes before as my fasting blood glucose levels have always been under 100. However, my last fasting glucose test as well as my husband's were both high (mine 127, his 140). The doctor had us return for A1c tests which were in the normal range (mine 5.6, his 5.5). Based on that, the doctor assumed we had eaten something before the fasting test and said, 'see you in 3 months'. But we didn't eat anything.
Avatar n tn Is the Accu-Chek Compact brand by Roche any better or worse than One Touch Ultra? It looks almost twice the size and heavier. And uses a drum-strip dispensing device that holds 17 strips - way too automated for my taste (too much to go wrong). Has anyone had any experience with these or the Accu-Chek Softclix lancing device?
210400 tn?1325380570 Well I found out my hemoglobin is 11.2. I passed the glucose test (I can see my results before the doctor reviews them lol so I don't know what they will say/do). Glucose was 77. However, I am measuring 4 weeks smaller then I should be. I get remeasured in 4 weeks...
Avatar n tn I saw where LifeTrac finished beta Testing a glucose meter that doesn't use blood or isn't a continous meter like the GlucoWatch. Is this real or just some Internet Hoax? Life without pricking would be nice ....
Avatar n tn ve *never* heard of cancer feeding off of sugar but I know that it uses a lot of energy and that is why a PET scan uses a form of radiated glucose to look for cancers. One thing that *MANY* of us post-TT patients have to watch is for an onset of Type II diabetes. I don't really know why but many of us develop glucose issues after TTs. Have your endo check your A1C levels and you might ask for a glucose tolerance test.
Avatar n tn I wasn't for sure where to post this question, but I know that the people on this site are a great resource for similar experiences. I am a 20 year old female, 5'8" 110 pounds (skinny, I know) and I don't have medical insurance, but was given an oral glucose tolerance test through the health department. I am a college student who works full-time, and I will have insurance when I graduate.
Avatar n tn Do you or anybody around you uses head & shoulders shampoo? If not it is very interesting what you just said. I sometimes smell things those not even around me, it is coming from our memories. You too might have great imagination, probably that’s all.
Avatar f tn I have had Impaired Fasting Glucose levels for at least 5 years, which I have not been actively trying to address until recently. A fasting glucose of 123, and glyco reading (from tests I requested. I know the 3-mo average glyco test is normally to monitor diabetic control, but my doctor 5 years ago used them also as a diagnostic tool. This made sense to me so I have continued her practice.) of 6.3 shook me out of my complacency in Oct 2009.
Avatar n tn It is an on-going battle between the two of us to get him to write down his sugar level and insulin when he checks. He is on a regimen of Lantus and Humalog and basically uses his own discretion when counting carbs and giving insulin. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can better track his numbers, besides me following him around with a log book? He uses the Accu-Check Instant meter.
Avatar f tn GSD I is an inherited genetic disorder which causes the deficiency of one of the enzymes that work together to help the body break down the storage form of sugar (glycogen) into glucose, which the body uses to keep blood sugar stable when a person is not eating. How is type I glycogen storage disease diagnosed? Children with GSD I are usually diagnosed between 4 and 10 months of age.
1209036 tn?1299178657 The oral glucose tolerance test involves quickly drinking a sweetened liquid (called Glucola), which contains 50 g of glucose. The body absorbs this glucose rapidly, causing blood glucose levels to rise within 30 to 60 minutes. A blood sample will be taken from a vein in your arm about 60 minutes after drinking the solution. The blood test measures how the glucose solution was metabolized (processed by the body).
Avatar m tn People already on MOA oxidase inhibitors, with narrow angle glaucoma, cardiac, liver and kidney disorders should not take Savella. If these symptoms are bothering you a lot seek medical help. Get your blood pressure checked. If your blood pressure is normal these effects may dissipate with time. Talk with your doctor before stopping Savella and do not stop suddenly; this can cause withdrawal symptoms .Discuss your concerns with your doctor. Take care!
