1399363 tn?1462342610 Histamine occurs naturally in certain foods and an enzyme called diamine oxidase, which is present in our body breaks down the histamine which we absorb from food. Deficiency of this enzyme can cause histamine intolerance. Among the naturally occurring fruits and vegetables some can be rich in histamines and some promote the release of histamine from mast cells. So, with consumption of food the reactions can vary.

Avatar f tn One of the most common causes of neuropathy is diabetes, and sometimes only glucose intolerances, or abnormal rises in blood sugar after a glucose load can be the only indication (this is called a oral glucose tolerance test.
Avatar f tn I had a glucose test a few days ago and fainted but I also got the rhogam shot the same time... I wonder which one had this effect on me?
Avatar f tn Well, I do know that cantalope will cause gas if eaten with a meal, which gas hurts the guts, so I suppose you could try eating those fruits only as a snack, see if that helps. If not, then might be a glucose thing, those items are high in pure sugar, and might be a diabetic sort of thing where the sugar processing part of the body isn't working right. Then some people develop allergies as they get older, stuff they could eat before becomes an allergy thing.
Avatar f tn Well i failed my first glucose test. They didnt tell me not to eat or drink prior to the test. So now i have to do the 3 hour test. I have a feeling im going to fail that too,..... what does it mean if i have diabetes during pregnancy? Will it affect my baby? Am i high risk pregnancy now?
623944 tn?1244035490 sorry I can only think of one thing...maybe an alergic reaction to the glucose drink itself.....I felt kinda funny after a MRI with contrast.....I would ask ur dr.....but u r right there is nothing I could find either for side effects of this testing. I hope u feel better soon !
Avatar n tn I looked on the American Diabetes website and there is an OGTT test- is that the test--meaning oral glucose tolerance test. This is what they say about those results. OGTT test, a person's blood glucose level is measured after a fast and two hours after drinking a glucose-rich beverage. If the two-hour blood glucose level is between 140 and 199 mg/dl, the person tested has pre-diabetes. If the two-hour blood glucose level is at 200 mg/dl or higher, the person tested has diabetes.
Avatar f tn Such lesions can be caused by a variety of neurological disorders, including stroke, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, and hepatic encephalopathy caused by liver failure. The condition can also be brought on by an adverse reaction to serotonergic drugs in so-called serotonin syndrome.
Avatar f tn I had to retake mine. Not because i threw it up, didn't drink it all within 5 minutes, OR because i didn't pass, but because they checked me out and didnt call me back into my doctor's office. I waited in the waiting room for an hour and a half and so i went back up to the front desk to see what was up and they all had an "oh sh**" reaction.
Avatar f tn Ok so I failed my one hr glucose test. I attempted my three hr one but after the first hour it all came right back up and my face was really broke out for two days. So now they want me to take it again. What if it comes back up. I'm almost 32 wks and I just feel like they should give up already or find another solution.
Avatar n tn Like you, my heart has been checked out by a cardiologist and is healthy. This, in my case, is just a reaction to the drop in glucose levels. I don't always have these symptoms, but it can happen.
Avatar n tn I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN I TAKE THE LANTUS INSULIN PRESCRIBED DOSAGE(S) THAT APPROXIMATELY 15-30 MINUTES LATER I START TO SWEAT PROFUSELY. IS THIS A NORMAL REACTION TO THE LANTUS INSULIN? I VOICED MY CONCERNS TO MY DOCTOR AND HE HAD NO COMMENT. I AM ALSO TAKING SEVERAL DOSES OF HUMULIN R AND HAVE GAINED WEIGHT SINCE I STARTED TAKING THE LANTUS. PLEASE ADVISE. THANK YOU.
Avatar f tn It might be a reaction to the way you are eating. (If you aren't getting a balanced diet, or are eating too little, or not enough protein, or too much caffeine, or are taking diet pills, you can have this reaction.
Avatar m tn People already on MOA oxidase inhibitors, with narrow angle glaucoma, cardiac, liver and kidney disorders should not take Savella. If these symptoms are bothering you a lot seek medical help. Get your blood pressure checked. If your blood pressure is normal these effects may dissipate with time. Talk with your doctor before stopping Savella and do not stop suddenly; this can cause withdrawal symptoms .Discuss your concerns with your doctor. Take care!
1915587 tn?1330311933 Ya know other than an allergic reaction or maybe stress who knows.
Avatar f tn You can typically improve amine [includes tyramine] clearance by providing the nutrients to support synthesis of monoamine oxidase and diamine oxidase, such as molybdenum, copper, and choline/egg yolks. You can also typically reduce symptoms by improving anti-oxidant status, especially zinc and copper optimization, vitamin C, and N-acetylcysteine." Tyramine messes with the autonomic nervous sytem, specifically the sympathetic part through adrenergic receptors.
Avatar f tn The quantity is not relevant for a normal liver, while cirrhotic have better do what they say in the faq open and let stay for 10-15min and alcool will evaporate.
Avatar n tn Ah, that explains the detail in your question! One of the problems with coming up with a standard graph to publish is that blood sugars are so varying and everyone reacts differently. There are a few standard things to check for, but it is impossible to say that everyone's reaction to glucose or activity is the same. My child can consume a certain food and go sky high, and a friend's child can eat the same food and go low.
Avatar f tn I had to drink that orange stuff today for the glucose test and ever since I've been feeling so sick. Lightheaded dizzy sleepy and bad stomach cramps. Anyone else had this reaction?
