1399363 tn?1462342610 Histamine occurs naturally in certain foods and an enzyme called diamine oxidase, which is present in our body breaks down the histamine which we absorb from food. Deficiency of this enzyme can cause histamine intolerance. Among the naturally occurring fruits and vegetables some can be rich in histamines and some promote the release of histamine from mast cells. So, with consumption of food the reactions can vary.
Avatar f tn I was taking Nature Throid but discontinued because of a weird side effect- strong ammonia-smelling sweat while exercising. Has anyone heard of that before? I was concerned about my kidneys... And had to wash exercise clothes several time to get rid of the smell. What would cause this?
Avatar m tn People already on MOA oxidase inhibitors, with narrow angle glaucoma, cardiac, liver and kidney disorders should not take Savella. If these symptoms are bothering you a lot seek medical help. Get your blood pressure checked. If your blood pressure is normal these effects may dissipate with time. Talk with your doctor before stopping Savella and do not stop suddenly; this can cause withdrawal symptoms .Discuss your concerns with your doctor. Take care!
Avatar n tn I had a glucose tolerance test and an insulin fasting (drinking the glucose drink) blood test done. I have seen my results but have not had them interpreted for me. My glucose fasting results came back within normal range but my insulin fasting results came back out of range for the 0,1, & 2 hour results. They were much higher than the normal ranges. Does this mean I have insulin resistance?
Avatar f tn The quantity is not relevant for a normal liver, while cirrhotic have better do what they say in the faq open and let stay for 10-15min and alcool will evaporate.
Avatar f tn Interesting to hear how things dont always turn out as suspected. Yeah everything else is testing as normal inc glucose. I guess nature will take its course. Thanks again.
Avatar n tn The toe cramps are an uncommon presentation of diabetes, particularly very high glucose levels over 400. The recurrent nature is consistant with such an etiology. They can also be caused by calcium deficiency, and resolved by drinking an extra glass of milk a day. I would agree that you should get a diabetic evaluation. Taken alone, this is not a hallmark of diabetes, but your analysis of the problem is reasonable.

645800 tn?1466860955 As many of you know from my previous posts I am a nature lover. Maybe even to an extreme :) but I thought this would be uplifting of spirits ( if only for me) by writing about some of my nature related adventures. I say adventures because some if not most of you would not appreciate being in the same situations. WARNING this will probably be quite long. I first became a nature lover when I was only 10. My dad was stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA and one weekend in late June he took us up Mt Rainier.

Avatar f tn I have my glucose test on Friday and I've been stressing all week. What should I eat the day before? What should I avoid? I never had a glucose test done with my daughter, so I don't really know what to eat.
Avatar n tn Only with proper bloodwork can the doctor assess the true nature of his problem. And performing an exam will give the doctor much needed information on what tests to run. I hope he feels better.
Avatar n tn I have always suffered from hypoglycemic attacks (increased pulse rate, dizziness, shaking, etc.) when I go too long without eating. However, my fasting glucose was 102 during a recent test. That seems odd to me - I was very suprised to find out that it was high instead of low. Does anyone know what this might mean? Hope I'm not posting in the wrong area... just thought someone might have some insight. Thanks!

Avatar n tn Without the iris, bright light can be very uncomfortable. The absence of this part is called aniridia which is usually congenital in nature. Other conditions such as glaucoma, foveal hypoplasia, corneal degeneration, cataracts, diabetes or glucose intolerance, Wilms' tumor, genital abnormalities and mental retardation can also be associated with aniridia. If it persists or recurs, it is best that you have this checked by your eye doctor for proper evaluation.
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question! I take it these numbers came after a recent physical? Did your doctor offer you recommendations for righting these numbers? You've written on the prediabetes forum so we'll start there. Your glucose numbers do not quite yet bump you into that category and your A1c has you just at the very starting point of prediabetes . Has your doctor recommended lifestyle changes to lower your fasting glucose test?
Avatar m tn Five years ago, I was given a Glucose meter and checked my levels. They were perfect. Fasting was around 80. After a meal, maybe 120. So no worries. Then a couple of years ago, I got out the meter and ordered some strips. Tested Glucose and fasting ranged from 88 to 100. I ate a big old bowl of chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce after dinner one night and after one hour, checked glucose and it was at 155! Went to Doctor and he checked my A1C and it was 4.9. He said that was fine.
