Avatar m tn Thank you so much for your input. I guess it is the same finding about Vit C molecule and Glucose molecule and how they both look the same and why cancer cells "think" it's the right fuel for them where in fact it's Vitamin C molecule absorb. I have a little text in my journal about Vit C and Glucose. Take a look if you like. Take care, Hugs, Sunes.
Avatar n tn Lactose Polyethylene Glycol Listing just lactose (One Molecule of lactose consists of one molecule each of two other carbohydrates, i.e. galactose and glucose) and Polyethylene Glycol. I will give you this information and let you draw your own conclusions as the safety of the product. The dosage for production must usually be within 5% of the labeled dosage to be considered (for example) a 2mg dose.
Avatar f tn I went to the emergencyroom back in march. They did blood tests and my glucose was 104 which they considered high(normal being up to 99) They never said anything to me about this and as far as I know, I have never had this before. I had to go to the emergency room again last month and again, they did blood work. My glucose level was only 88. I am just wondering if I should be looking into this. Could I be diabetic? They never said anything about the high level.
315737 tn?1407298997 These changes are also thought to be markers for aging. The scientists say that it is the fructose molecule in the sucrose, not the glucose, that plays the larger part.20 Because it is metabolized by the liver, fructose does not cause the pancreas to release insulin the way it normally does. Fructose converts to fat more than any other sugar. This may be one of the reasons Americans continue to get fatter. Fructose raises serum triglycerides significantly.
Avatar f tn Yes, as I understand it, glycated hemoglobin is the attachment of glucose to hemoglobin, a globular protein molecule. It is a measure of blood sugar levels over about three months time and is elevated when blood sugar has been elevated. I'm looking for information on what levels of blood sugar typically result in glycation. I have not seen my blood sugar go over 127, and I'm wondering what level I should be keeping it under in order to lower my Hgba1c.
975514 tn?1324997938 You need to take a fasting glucose test [no eating 8-10 hrs prior] AND an A1c [HA1c, HgbA1c]. The former provides a picture on how well your body is currently handing blood glucose, the latter provides a picture on how well your body has managed/controlled blood glucose over the past 2-3 months. Don't delay rescheduling these tests as your symptoms mimic diabetes.
Avatar f tn You have EVERY right to be upset. The resident is not worth going back to! Please post your lab results with the reference ranges. With this information the folks here can better assess your situation. And you have BETTER have more than just TSH which is completely useless in basing dosage levels. TSH is a scanning/screening test at best, and is just short of completely useless once you are on thyroid medication. Also please list the symptoms you have now other than body weight concerns.
Avatar m tn I also think the GTT test is the best to see how your body deals with blood glucose fasting blood glucose is only part of the picture. Diabetes also affects heart. Getting EMG done is not bad, why are u avoiding it?
Avatar n tn I Google'd "pen glucose meters" and found this Australian device. The picture is quite small but it appears to be near pen like size, permanent marking pen size. http://tinyurl.com/d33qtg This device uploads the measured data to the doctors office, or with remote file sharing enabled, the doctor can access Graham's PC anytime anywhere to retrieve his glucose data.
Avatar m tn one of the symptoms of diabetes is frequent urination and i agree with your doctor that you rule this out from the picture through testing glucose levels in your blood or urine. Like i said, the urine glucose is not used as before because it's sensitivity is not that good and many factors affect the result such as the medications i mentioned before. Your blood sugar tested 80 and it is below the 200 cut off so it's normal.
Avatar n tn Now a dx of Diabetic Type II has been made based on a 3-hour Glucose Tolerance Test. Told that Dr a year ago there was more going on that merely Thyroid and Perimenopause. Was I ever right! Turns out that in an overview of regular blood tests, I don't indicate any problems. Because of that, he turly believed nothing would be found abnormal. Fasting blood glucose is still in the Normal range despite it takes 3 hours on the GTT for my glucose to get back to a normal level.
Avatar m tn Hello! I just found out that my glucose level is 125. Should I be worried? My father had diabetes and now my mother has it. I am 48 yrs old and am trying to lose weight, but it hasn't been going well. If 125 is bad, please post suggestions for me to try. Thank you!
212161 tn?1599427282 A fasting morning glucose level gives you a better 'picture' of your glucose , and that should be under 100. The a1c test give you the big picture. I just noticed yesterday that walmart has a a1c test kit. I just got a home meter today.
956931 tn?1271636169 Good Afternoon, I just spoke with the Coordinator of my study about the glucose issue. My last blood glucose was 97 before the "week one" blood draw last week which indicated a blood glucose of 114. My Hgb A1C was 6.1 and needed to be under 7.0; which it is. So I am not excluded due to my blood sugar as it is not at this time a problem and falls well within the range of acceptable.
Avatar n tn said everything was good except for his Glucose. To elimante sugars and carbs and see you back in 3 months. We received a copy of his blood work today. His Glucose is 110, Sodium 141, TSH 3rd generation is 4.80. Triglycerides 199, Total Cholesterol 179, HDL 24 L , LDL 115 and his CHOL/HDLC 7.5. My main question is could the things that were flagged ( above ) especially the TSH 3 be due to Cholesterol and Glucose?
163305 tn?1333668571 Newswise — Chemists at the University of California, San Diego have produced the first high resolution structure of a molecule that when attached to the genetic material of the hepatitis C virus prevents it from reproducing. Hepatitis C is a chronic infectious disease that affects some 170 million people worldwide and causes chronic liver disease and liver cancer. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, hepatitis C now kills more Americans each year than HIV.
483733 tn?1326798446 So where does D-Ribose come in? A D-Ribose molecule is the backbone of every ATP molecule! But the body isn’t very good at producing D-Ribose. Worse still, many people with FM and CFS have a large percentage of damaged mitochondria, which means there are fewer places where the Krebs Cycle can happen. Taking D-Ribose is like pouring gas in your car. It refuels the Krebs Cycle so your mitochondria can make energy more efficiently!
1654177 tn?1319838494 t provide a clear picture. A low of 68 mg/dl is worth follow up testing; Fasting, an OGTT [Oral Glucose Tolerance Test] and/or an A1c. if the OGTT points to diabetes and A1c usually is ordered. The OGTT sees how well your body shed excess glucose. The A1c looks at your glucose levels over the past 2-3 months. Kaiser doc should have ordered these tests - email her and request labs. Numb Feet and Diabetes This could be associated with diabetic neuropathy which is damage to the nerves.
Avatar n tn I have blood pressure of 140/100 last month and with salt restriction it has come down to 120/88 ,now i have found out that i have fasting blood glucose 174 post food is 300 , my last year glucose results were post food 80, fasting lipid pofile .cholestrerol 304 hdl 36 triglyceride 734..i also have a fat around my waist ..so i was thinking i have metatbolic syndrome or do i have anything else ????.
Avatar n tn I had a glucose tolerance test and an insulin fasting (drinking the glucose drink) blood test done. I have seen my results but have not had them interpreted for me. My glucose fasting results came back within normal range but my insulin fasting results came back out of range for the 0,1, & 2 hour results. They were much higher than the normal ranges. Does this mean I have insulin resistance?
Avatar m tn I am told by one physician who himself said to be a diabetologist, said that more the blood you draw on to the test strip, the glucometer record higher levels and when the less quantity of blood is drawn on to the test strip, the glucometer records lower levels and gives a distorted picture of the glucose levels. Isit so? Or does that physician is under the wrong impression about the glucometers?
Avatar n tn from being stuck to a protein molecule. When the hormone is attached to the protein molecule, it becomes 100% useless! So you realy want the free isolated hormones that actually do all the work to be tested and counted. Also if you are fatigued and it is common for people with low thyroid to also be deficient in the following and you should be tested for these as well Vitamin D3, Vitamin B-12 Iron Ferritin back to TSH. TSH is a pituitary hormone.
