Avatar m tn I asked him if I should look into clinicals and he says I am already in a database. Apparently, I signed off on that when i first went. He is very gungho about clinicals and is linked to some database that has all of his patients info in it and when they are conducting clinical trials they can look at our particulars and see who might qualify. I wish all the oncs would do that. I will look at this info tomorrow when hopefully I won't be so brain dead. I do hope you are getting on well.
Avatar n tn CARBCHECK is a no frills application but does exactly what it says - it has a database of ADA Exchanges, Fast Food, and you can even customize the database if you have Micrsoft Excel. You select what you want and it displays the items and their carbs on the screen in a menu format. It's a work in progress and at the moment can't tally up the items you choose (Trode is working on that)- but for a quick index for meal (that you can add your own items to)it works in a pinch.
1666903 tn?1383332156 I have not had any glucose testing yet, but had the impression my glucose levels were creeping up (I have NIDD Type II). Started Lamictal a little over a month ago an gradually increased dose, on 100 mg now and my glucose is unquestionably elevated above 175, I am going in for a blood test to confirm this and ask my doc what to do about it. Both drugs are helping with my bipolar.
Avatar f tn In a series of nine studies published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Baumeister discovered that people with steady glucose levels were more persistent at attempting to complete an unsolvable task than those whose glucose levels declined during the experiments. "Increase your blood glucose and you can fuel your willpower," he says. You can create glucose from fruit, many vegetables, whole grains, and dairy products.
Avatar n tn Ramsetty, Do you have any views as to safety and efficacy (if any) of consuming a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar as a means to slightly reduce glucose levels? I have discovered this "remedy" through some web searches, but am a bit skeptical, since there seem to be a lot of less than fully substantiated nutritional remedies that can be found on the internet.
Avatar m tn 1. Can the heart rate or blood pressure depends on lipids or glucose level in blood? 2. Can lipids or glucose level in blood be increased by stress?
21064 tn?1309308733 Choosing one or the other of the boxes (drugs, tags) will limit the database to your selection. Choosing both will give you complete access to the database, and the drugs will be identified with an icon. Try it out! For example, click on "Health Topics", then on the letter "I" and scroll down to "Inderal LA", click and read informative information about this medication.
Avatar m tn if you are leery of docs, first ask your diabetic friend to check your blood glucose,or test your urine w/ glucose testing strips. also journal all symptoms times and what you eat and when if you go to the md,good luck,it's not the end of the world.
365714 tn?1292199108 I think it affects some usernames or systems but not others. I did get a message from medhelp saying they believe it to be a bug on their end. I don't know when it will be fixed. I notice my journals and journal comments don't show up on the sidebar, which seems to be another bug. I heard that had to do with an error on their database, but I'm not 100% sure on the cause.
644974 tn?1312758070 Are you trying to write a journal through the Journal interface or through the Tracker interface? On My MedHelp, on the Journals panel, you should see a link that says, Write a new journal entry. If you click that, you should see a form that has text boxes for Title, Journal Entry and Tags. Do you see that?
976084 tn?1270872439 I don't want to copy and paste what I wrote in my journal but if someone thinks they might want to help me can you please read it. Thank you for anyone who actually does...
Avatar m tn anyone else doing a pregnancy journal for their child to read once they're older?:) I've been pretty loyal to mine.:) I hope my son will enjoy and appreciate it once he is older.

Avatar n tn I recently heard from my doctor that there is a database that keeps track of all people who have taken narcotics. It specifies the dates, times, drug, amount, dosage amount and more and this apparently is why some people get "flagged" as they go to too many doctors to get scripts etc. (at least that is my understanding on why they get flagged) The question I am asking is: Is there a way to MAKE myself get flagged on purpose?
Avatar m tn You may also enter search terms -including member names- in the search box at the upper right of your screen and the system will retrun everything matching the term(s) you entered. This INCLUDES a drug database that will give you both user posts about drugs as well as the medical information about the drug. A great way to get quick answers about therapeutic effect, side effects, interactions, etc. One of the profile categories is your mood, which you may change anytime you like.

Avatar f tn I'm not sure there's a database, but when your records are requested from previous dr it should be in there. What type of dr are you trying to go to?
Avatar f tn The short answer is yes, eventually. Virtually every state has a database of all narcotic prescriptions filled, and doctors (and the DEA) have access to it. Pain management doctors check the database to ensure patients are only filling prescriptions written by them. Some people believe that paying cash for a prescription rather than going through insurance keeps it off the database but that is incorrect...all narcotic prescriptions filled appear regardless of how they were paid for.
Avatar n tn There is pay database of drug interactions which is very good, but is is only available to physicians who pay the fee or medical schools. I am sure your physician will have access to such a database. Without access to such a legitimate database, you cannot make an informed decision.
Avatar f tn On the other hand, a doctor actually told me that I need to discuss with my primary physician about getting on insulin because my glucose levels should not be that high when I wake up. I have noticed though that when I check it after exercise, it is in a normal range. I have tried changing my eating habits and the time I consume my last meal, no matter what I do, it is still closer to the 200 range than the 100 range.
