Glucose intolerance young adults

Common Questions and Answers about Glucose intolerance young adults

glucose

Avatar f tn Hi, The normal ranges are not age dependent for adults. The exceptions are for very lean young adults who can have fasting values into the 50's and still be quite normal. Your Mom's reading is quite high, so if this is a common pattern I think her medications should be adjusted. Your range is not too bad; the low of 50 is actually more concerning to me than the 150.
Avatar f tn Glucose intolerance is when the body does not utilise the glucose in your body properly and the fasting blood glucose level is above 6.0 mmol/L or your blood glucose level is over 7.8 mmol/L 2 hours after consuming 75g of glucose. At this stage, with life style changes and exercises, you can still avoid getting diabetes. You could say it is pre diabetes. The symptoms of glucose intolerance can be those of hyperglycaemia and also tingling sensations.
Avatar m tn Common- acne- muscle weakness, Depression, anxiety and irritability, Decreased libido (maybe my mental illness or side effects of medications? Or both, it was not too bad when I was on them), Glucose intolerance I have to rest/nap for a while after eating anything that is high in sugar. I don’t know why maybe because of the pills. These pills do mess up your sugar metabolism when you come off it.
Avatar n tn Women with PCOS have an increased risk for diabetes or glucose intolerance or insulin resistance. If you are obese with increased body mass index and if you lose weight, exercise and eat a good glycemic index diet then you can improve your PCOS. If you have diabetes or glucose intolerance then Metformin can help you as well to control your blood sugars. Therefore there is a lot you can you with diet, exercise, weight loss to improve your condition.
280234 tn?1532986249 I was wondering if any other young adults have been diagnosed with colon polyps? I'm a 34/f who was recently diagnosed with a 1.1 cm "Tubulovillous adenoma" during a colonoscopy (was seeing blood/mucous in stool for about 6 months). The lab report came back that it was benign, and my GI doctor said follow up with him in 3 years. From what my GI doctor told me, and what I've read about these, they are considered precancerous. Following up in 3 years makes me nervous.
Avatar m tn What are your Free T3 and Free T4 levels? Please post them, with reference ranges, which vary from lab to lab and have to come from your own report. TSH does not cause or alleviate symptoms. It's the actual thyroid hormones that cause (or alleviate) symptoms, with Free T3 correlating best. Your A1c indicates that you have diabetes and that's what's causing your symptoms of frequent urination, weight loss, etc. Are you keeping track of your daily fasting blood sugars?
Avatar f tn What were reference ranges for the TSH and Free T4? Were they age-adjusted? I believe they're a bit different for children than they are for adults. Please post the ranges listed on the lab report; those vary from lab to lab so have to come from your daughter's own reports anyway. Once we see the reference ranges, we can be more helpful. Does your daughter have any symptoms of a thyroid condition, other than the low weight?
Avatar f tn First of all, bravo to you for having career goal and demonstrating initiative to get there (yes there is hope for the future with young adults like you!). (Standing ovation) When I was young, I struggled with weight, and not until doing research and finding more recent information which has helped me restore my health and take loads of weight off do I now have a better understanding if why humans pack on the pounds.
Avatar m tn hey im a young gay male.. I had casual unprotected oral sex and protected anal sex , both giving and receiving, about 2-3 weeks ago with a guy who claims to be negative. I have since come down with a flu like listless illness, fever, swollen glands, extreme lethargy, exercise intolerance, no appetite for about 5 days now.. I have made an appointment for oraquick test Friday which will be about 20 days from the incident and 1 week since getting sick.
Avatar m tn My Tsh came back at .49 from 1.93 where I feel great! In 15 I never had an issue! I am due to get full panel thyroid tests in 3 weeks!
Avatar f tn Is it normal finding white appearenc of the retina in young adults?
Avatar n tn bacterial overgrowth was negative, lactose intolerance was negative but fructose intolerance was positive. My control number was 11 and the end number was 44...I was told anything resulting in +20 (so mine would be 31) is positive. Okay, so here are my questions...what does the 44 mean (if anything) low intolerance, high intolerance?
Avatar m tn Previous research has indicated a relationship between obstructive sleep apnea, glucose intolerance and insulin resistance, so the connection with type 2 diabetes is not surprising. This is the first study to analyze data from both men and women at a diabetes clinic, the researchers said. "These findings demonstrate that obstructive sleep apnea has a high prevalence in adults with type 2 diabetes," principal investigator Dr. Daniel Einhorn said in a prepared statement.
Avatar m tn I would suggest that you make an appointment to see your doctor and ask if you can have a glucose intolerance test and do a HBA1C blood test. a HBA1C blood test will show the average glucose levels in the blood stream over a period of approximately 3 months. It may be that you have an insulin intolerance. This means that your pancreas is producing insulin, but this is not being used adequately by your body.
Avatar n tn Hey there, have you had a MRI? You have many similar symptoms to a pretty rare thing called Chiari Malformation type 0-2. Look it up, many doctors are unaware or outdated on it so its a tough journey. Symptoms can start at any point in life but usually in young adults (20's). I just recently found out about chiari and am on my way to hopefully finding out if it is what is causing me to lose my quality of life. I just got over a 9 day headache.
Avatar f tn I have a glucose intolerance so all they did for me was fasting bloodwork... had me eat and took my blood again in two hours...
Avatar m tn Skin prick showed allergic response to all foods except pork and chocolate whereas the ALCAT showed intolerance to less foods. My symtoms have gotten more chronic over the last few years. I've also been to 2 neurologists, tried various antidepressants, had spinal tap, MRI's, etc. etc. all to no avail. Had a few questions: 1. Do my symptoms sound like they are related to food intolerance? 2.
Avatar f tn I failed the one hour and passed 3 out of the four blood tests they took during the 3 hour. They called it glucose intolerance and made me go to nutritional counseling. I think a lot of people fail the one hour. Don't stress yet.
1448936 tn?1363206346 My doc ordered a few more tests for me and I'm just trying to figure out what the tests might be looking for. I know they're looking for a lactose and gluten intolerance but not sure about the rest. If anyone knows what some of these are and can shed some light on them thatd be great.
