Avatar m tn What are your Free T3 and Free T4 levels? Please post them, with reference ranges, which vary from lab to lab and have to come from your own report. TSH does not cause or alleviate symptoms. It's the actual thyroid hormones that cause (or alleviate) symptoms, with Free T3 correlating best. Your A1c indicates that you have diabetes and that's what's causing your symptoms of frequent urination, weight loss, etc. Are you keeping track of your daily fasting blood sugars?
Avatar f tn If you suffer from diabetes or glucose intolerance, make sure that this is well controlled. If you have a diet that consists of a lot of sugar, cutting down will help too. If you are experiencing itching frequently down below, it may be worth your doctor to take a blood test to check your sugar levels. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn I do know that neuropathy can be caused by lack of Vitamin B1 and B12 and also nerve damage can be caused by having a glucose intolerance or diabetes or by trauma to the nerves. Neuropathy in your thighs can be from a conditional call meralgia parasthetica which is compression of nerves in the groin area. Nerve problems in your arms can stem from problems in the neck. Wrist and hand problems can be from compression of the nerves in the carpal tunnel.
Avatar m tn My Tsh came back at .49 from 1.93 where I feel great! In 15 I never had an issue! I am due to get full panel thyroid tests in 3 weeks!
Avatar n tn bacterial overgrowth was negative, lactose intolerance was negative but fructose intolerance was positive. My control number was 11 and the end number was 44...I was told anything resulting in +20 (so mine would be 31) is positive. Okay, so here are my questions...what does the 44 mean (if anything) low intolerance, high intolerance?
Avatar n tn The thing is, I am 26 and was tested with the glucose intolerance test about 10-12 years ago and it came back fine. That was when all the symptoms started...I was around 14-16 years old then. And since then, my sugar levels have seemed fine when I've checked my blood with my Dad's glucometer. But when I went to then Doctor recently, then said my glucose reading was a 220. So does this mean I have pre-diabetes or even already diabetes?
Avatar f tn also from what I have read recently is that normal sugar levels may not mean that a person does not have glucose intolerance. The only test that will show that is a two to six hour sugar test: Our results suggest that IGT (impaired glucose tolerance) may cause or contribute to small-fiber neuropathy, which is similar in phenotype to the painful sensory neuropathy commonly encountered in diabetes. Just a thought.
738890 tn?1232214279 I don't know if you live in US or UK or ? But I live in the UK and am intolerant of synthetic levothyroxine. If I take what the doctor gives me for say two weeks, I gain a stone in weight, have no energy, feel sick all the time, headaches, dizzy spells (sometimes even passing out), feel cold regardless or room temperature/time of year, muscles spasms and deep low back pain, I don't feel lie I'm getting any benefit from my food and I suffer constipation both urinary and bowel.
1422878 tn?1284584593 so i went to get a blood test last week and they havent called us to tell us the rezults. I'm having the classic symptoms( i look up my symptoms) of diabetes. but im nauseas like all the time. my feet are swollen and feel cold to touch, and they tingle( also my back tingles too). any answers.
Avatar n tn Women with PCOS have an increased risk for diabetes or glucose intolerance or insulin resistance. If you are obese with increased body mass index and if you lose weight, exercise and eat a good glycemic index diet then you can improve your PCOS. If you have diabetes or glucose intolerance then Metformin can help you as well to control your blood sugars. Therefore there is a lot you can you with diet, exercise, weight loss to improve your condition.
Avatar f tn Check his blood glucose levels and get back to me.
Avatar f tn I agree with what Barb has said. I would also add that the thyroid med is not a likely contributor to the weight gain, if you had questions about that. It is possible that your thyroid hormone levels are not adequate to get your metabolism to the right level for you. If you will please post your thyroid test results, and their reference ranges shown on the lab report, members will be glad to assess the adequacy of your testing and test levels.
Avatar f tn If I understand your question correctly, you are asking if food intolerance and/or allergies mimic the pain of various neuropathies. Food intolerance, only if it contains gluten. The association that I am aware is that of neuropathy secondary to gluten sensitivity. The following is excerpted from a report in the medical literature and is illustrative of this phenomenon. Sensory ganglionopathy due to gluten sensitivity (CME) Hadjivassiliou, M. MD; Rao, D.G. MD; Wharton, S.B.
Avatar f tn A glucose test is when they test for gestational diabetes, you drink this orange sweet drink and then an hour later they take your blood. Not sure if it's in the UK or not, but I don't see why it wouldnt be.
Avatar f tn Just wondering what are the symptoms for gestational diabetes? My midwife is sending me for the glucose test tomorrow (which we don't normally have to do in the UK this is my 3rd and iv never had one) because i am measuring big. But i don't think that's it i just think i have a big baby. My BD was nearly 10lb when he was born.
Avatar n tn what kind of symptoms would you get if you did have diabetes? early stages/pre, would you get any kind of symptoms or would you feel normal? So basically would you guys trust the urine result? is it reasonably reliable you think?
Avatar f tn Also liver enzymes can indicate if there are any systemic problems, infections going on so an ALT, AST, and GGT reading are good to get with regards to liver. If overweight, good idea to get checked for diabetes, glucose intolerance, or cholesterol levels. Hope this might help...you can look up any or all of the above and see for yourself how your symptoms measure up and have some ideas to ask the dr.
Avatar f tn Hey everyone. How did you all go with your glucose test? Ive got mine tomorrow. A bit anxious! My mum and sister both had gestational diabetes. So im kind of expecting to also have it. But we'll see :) Hope your all doing well. Im feeling so exhausted and have really bad pain in my tailbone and not really sleeping much. But otherwise im good. Lol.
