Avatar m tn Thanks very much for replying and for taking the time to look things up. I had full blood count, liver function and kidney function blood tests done last year. The GP said my bloods were fine. Gall bladder: plasma Uric Acid is a little high 7.2 (Range 3.4 -7) Pancreas: I don't know my blood glucose levels but it isn't high enough that there is glucose in my urine (all dip tests OK).
Avatar f tn Glucose intolerance is when the body does not utilise the glucose in your body properly and the fasting blood glucose level is above 6.0 mmol/L or your blood glucose level is over 7.8 mmol/L 2 hours after consuming 75g of glucose. At this stage, with life style changes and exercises, you can still avoid getting diabetes. You could say it is pre diabetes. The symptoms of glucose intolerance can be those of hyperglycaemia and also tingling sensations.
Avatar n tn Hi, For the past six or seven years i've been struggling with really excessive flatulence. I've been to see my doctor on more than one and he 's always said it was irritatable bowel, but he's never really been able to offer me any solutions to my problem. Then recently i noticed my legs were really bent. I went to see him and he agreed they had definately bowed. I had a blood test and my vitimin D levles were normal, but my calcium was low.
Avatar m tn Hi, for about 4 months now i have been having issues with bad flatulence, i had if for 2 months followed by 1 good month however the past month it has returned. Avatar m tn I have had bowel problems and chronic flatulence for nearly seven years now, but i stopped eating fatty foods recently and saw a massive reduction in my symptoms. I think this is beacause it's malabsorption. I also had a blood test done recently that showed low floate levels, low calcium and low albumin. I think these are fairly typical of malabasorption, but the gasteroentorologist i saw seems to think my flatulence is caused by swallowing too much air. Its not.

Avatar n tn Women with PCOS have an increased risk for diabetes or glucose intolerance or insulin resistance. If you are obese with increased body mass index and if you lose weight, exercise and eat a good glycemic index diet then you can improve your PCOS. If you have diabetes or glucose intolerance then Metformin can help you as well to control your blood sugars. Therefore there is a lot you can you with diet, exercise, weight loss to improve your condition.
Avatar n tn Symptoms now include increased, painful bloating, no burps, no flatulence and no bowel movement after about 5 days drinking only water. Usually fruit or juice will help but nothing is helping or happening. Suggestions welcome and encouraged.
Avatar n tn Hi, Have you had an amalgam tooth filling recently (last 6 mths)?? I had these same symptoms for 3 years before i discovered i've been mercury poisoned by my amalgams. I remembered waking up one night from the intense pain in the same area u mentioned (around 2 to 3 inches above my belly button). After removing my amalgams, i no longer have IBS, flatulence (very very rarely), and I'm "cured" of lactose intolerance. Used to have some occasional chest pains..
Avatar f tn What would cause horrible smelling flatulence as if smelling death? Would bacteria or a lactose intolerance cause this? Also, gall bladder removal?

Avatar n tn Normal study of abdomen and pelvis All these reports are normal but I still feel problem in digesting food and having continuous flatulence . Doctor is saying it is nothing and need not to worry. I want to ask is it a disease that comes from birth and cannot be cured . What it is actually ? Also I feel severe bloating when I wake up in morning . That means I don't pass gas when I am in sleep . What is the reason for it . Maybe your answer can help me in this problem . Please help me .
Avatar m tn What are your Free T3 and Free T4 levels? Please post them, with reference ranges, which vary from lab to lab and have to come from your own report. TSH does not cause or alleviate symptoms. It's the actual thyroid hormones that cause (or alleviate) symptoms, with Free T3 correlating best. Your A1c indicates that you have diabetes and that's what's causing your symptoms of frequent urination, weight loss, etc. Are you keeping track of your daily fasting blood sugars?
Avatar n tn when i was a baby basically i was diagnosed with IBS following exclusion of lactose intolerance and various things. the doctors apparently told my parents they thought i would grow out of IBS. i dont know why they said that it. anyway i haven't generally had problems, if im nervous ie before a an interview or test i'll get diarrhoea and sometimes stomach pain, but i can live with that. but recently iv had really bad smelly gas throughout the whole day and lately every day.
Avatar f tn While the root like think could undigested plant matter, since this was a single episode it may not be anything to worry about.
Avatar m tn My Tsh came back at .49 from 1.93 where I feel great! In 15 I never had an issue! I am due to get full panel thyroid tests in 3 weeks!
Avatar n tn I had laparscopic fundoplication surgery in 1996. It loosened and I had a 2nd, open nissen funduplication 4/16/08. I was in the hospital 10 days, liquids for 2 weeks, mushy diet for another 4 weeks and now eat small meals. A few months after this surgery I started having extreme amounts of flatulence. My doctor told me people with GERD swallow air and nothing can be done about it.
