Avatar f tn Glucose intolerance is when the body does not utilise the glucose in your body properly and the fasting blood glucose level is above 6.0 mmol/L or your blood glucose level is over 7.8 mmol/L 2 hours after consuming 75g of glucose. At this stage, with life style changes and exercises, you can still avoid getting diabetes. You could say it is pre diabetes. The symptoms of glucose intolerance can be those of hyperglycaemia and also tingling sensations.

Avatar m tn In simple terms, what happens is that undigested lactose passes into the large intestine where, in several different ways, it is broken down into glucose, which then is passed out of the body in the stool. So a finding of high glucose in stool is not surprising in someone who is lactose intolerant.
Avatar f tn m in Manchester and my hospital provided nothing. They put a nappy on my son after weighing him etc and wrapped him in their towels and blanket but that was literally it. I was given nothing more. I took my own pads etc and towels to shower/bathe with, I used the 'what to pack for labour' list on the NHS website. Also I breastfed so I don't know what would've happened regarding formula/bottles.
Avatar f tn My partner has been trying to lose weight forever!. When I met him he was about 76 Kilos, 7 years later he is now 82. He is not very tall (5' 6'') so I guess he is about 2 stone over weight. He does not eat very much but unfortunately drinks too much. For a long time I have suspected he is 'glucose intolerant', in that even when he has carbohydrate available he goes shaky and experiences 'low' blood sugar symptoms.

Avatar m tn Till now I have no history of either diabetes or hypertension. I am 26 weeks pregnant and have to undergo glucose tolerance test (GTT). It is usually advised to take the test early morning as metabolism falls in afternoon due to diurnal rhythm. My problem is that I have an upside routine for the past 5 months, I sleep during day around 8-9 AM and wake up at 5-6 PM in the evening. Can I take my GTT in evening, I assume that my biological clock is now set according to my sleep cycle?
Avatar m tn In conclusion, glucose intolerance is common in hyperthyroidism. Avatar n tn I am about 20 kgs overweight. I walk every day and when in a good routine 8 kms a day, up and down hills through fields etc. Recently I began to experience tingling in my feet and hands which I attributed to the Diovan HCt (160/25) or diabetic peripheral neuropathy since I had a high fasting glucose last year and a definitely high one this year. I've also suspected I had an allergy to gluten and not IBS as was suggested.
