Glucose in juice

Common Questions and Answers about Glucose in juice

glucose

Avatar n tn If your glucose levels are under 70, you should drink a small amount of juice (4-6 ounces) and then test again in about 15 minutes to a half hour, after this has had time to start to elevate the glucose levels. You should start to feel better almost immediately after drinking the juice if you were low, but it can take a full half hour for the glucose levels to raise properly.
Avatar n tn I have read that after meals, glucose levels can go up to about 146 before a person is considered in the diabetic range. So your glucose readings thus far sound like they would be considered in the normal range of values except for the on at 61. As a diabetic, I know that I can actually start to feel bad when glucose is in the lower 70's even though 70 is considered the lowest level of normal.
Avatar f tn Its usually after a few times of having sugar in your pee that they send you to do the glucose test to check for diabetes...
323702 tn?1217775973 Hello ladies, Well today I went in for a visit (im 30w6ds) and the Dr. told me i had sugar in my urine. But said my glucose test came back fine. She didn't seem too concerned about it but I was curious to know if anyone know what could have caused it? I've never had that before. Any of you ladies know what this could be from?
Avatar f tn From my last 3 appts I've been having sugar in urine, I was sent to do the 3 hr glucose test and came back negative, but why would I keep getting sugar in urine? Anyone else the same?
Avatar f tn They give you a sugar-filled juice that you have to drink in either 5 or 10min (cant remember which). Then in an hr they draw your blood to see if youre handling digesting sugar fine or if theres a chance for gestational diabetes. If you fail they do a 3hr test where they draw blood once an hr. If you fail that, odds are you have gestational diabetes.
968908 tn?1274871115 9, i had a glass of orange juice an hour ago with a banana, took it as i started to break out in a sweat similar to that of a hypo but found it was fairly high, is this a normal reading?? I am fully aware that levels ideally should be within 4.0 to 6.0..... any ideas please. Thanks in advance for your time.
10389360 tn?1410823968 You drink the juice....an hour later they draw your blood then they call with the results. They do it at 28 weeks.
Avatar f tn I said sugar because we do not consume glucose daily but mind you there is lots of glucose/fructose/ in juice drinks anyway. I wanted to say the same you did but I guess I am not a great writer. LOL. I agree that quiting eating sugar will not cure cancer but it's very important not to add any extra sugar anyway . Sugar is in everything. So my pioint on this is: That glucose is a fuel for cancer and that's why we should avoid white sugar at all costs.
Avatar n tn My 18-mo-old had a fundoplication on is having very unstable glucose levels - his "episodes" have become more frequent and today was example: 6:30am - woke up SCREAMING his head off (after waking up every 2 hours during the night with excessive thirst and peeing through 4 diapers - 8pm-6:30am - this is a typical night for us for past 9-10 months).
Avatar n tn T want to drink a tall glass of juice when this happens, for if your body is over-correcting spikes in glucose, a tall glass of juice or a soda may stimulate the body to just produce MORE insulin, causing a snowball effect. But a little 6-oz. can of juice may make you feel better by providing a little bit of quit carbohydrate to help even out the glucose levels if they have dropped too low.
Avatar f tn What do they do during a glucose test? I have mine next week amd im curious.
Avatar f tn Nonishy.....wow they drew your blood that much? How come they drew it before? That's crazy....I drank the juice....they did a blood draw once an hour later...my glucose level was normal and I left.
Avatar f tn So last time I was to early to get my gtt...so I had to come in today I had the red juice it wasn't that bad....
Avatar f tn I did the glucose test when I was only 7 weeks because both of my parents have diabetes. So my doctor suggested me to do it early just in case. I was told not to eat anything 45 minutes before the test. I went in and drank a bottle of "orange juice" kind of thing, and waited for an hour for them to draw my blood. I kept drinking water while I was waiting. And phew, I passed the challenge! Good luck bsiekman! Hope you pass it too!!!
Avatar f tn I had my glucose test this morning and I didnt know I was supposed to fast, so when I woke up I tooj a drink of a cran-grape juice ibhad in the fridge to take my thyroid medicine.. then the nurse was like "you didnt eat or drink anything for breakfast right? Youll have to come back if so." And since I already had to take off work to go for the early morning test I panicked and said "no" lol. Do you think that drink of juice 1.5-2 hours before test will hurt my results?
Avatar f tn I have sugar in my urine most check ups, I've had two 3 hour diabetes tests because my dad and aunties are type 1 diabetics but I passed both :) hope it's the same for you
Avatar n tn Hi, yes eating before testing would increase the glucose levels in the body. Only carbohydrates (including grain products, fruits, juice, milk, yogurts, potatoes, corns--starchy foods) will raise the blood sugar level in the body. However, if you didn't fast (have not eaten for 8 hours or more), you must had a random glucose test done. they do have guidelines to tell what number is high. if your glucose level came up to be a bit above normal then you might be considered prediabetic.
Avatar n tn They starting gettin more sever ( extream dry moth, mental foginess, shaking, vomiting) so I went to the Dr. They tested my fasting glucose levels in the office (finger *****) and it was 227. I was immedicately sent to a lab for blood work. My gloucose level came back at 80. That was w/in half an hour. A week later I returned to the Dr. office they said I was "normal". I insisted on another test. They did another in office test (fasting again) and I came back at 180.
7470604 tn?1396498950 So I took the glucose test where they make you drink this juice, wait about an hour then they take your blood out for the test.. I received a call today it was the nurse saying that it came out a little high so I have an appointment tomorrow which I have to go on an empty stomach. Does anyone know what happens next or why I have to go.? Is it something I should worry about that my test was a little high?
8734227 tn?1405101066 I just received a message from my dr office saying my levels were high in my one hour glucose test.. I tried to call them back as soon as I got out of work but the office is closed till tomorrow. . I know that I'm going to schedule a 3hour test.. my question is what do I do until I get my next test? What food should I stay away from? What foods would be best to eat? This is my first pregnancy and I don't want to harm my baby!! Any advice will be greatly appreciated! !!
Avatar n tn I've heard that nopal cactus juice can help diabetic patients and lower glucose levels. I've only heard of it's benefits but are there side effects to its use?
Avatar f tn Hey you guys..I will be six months on Tuesday and my next doctors appointment will be when I'm 26weeks and one day....I should be having my glucose tolerance test soon....I was wondering how was it for some of you? Like what was the process you had to go through? I'm just really curious before I have mime..
Avatar n tn Now, most diabetics eat something when low, but the foods we eat take a long time to digest. Meanwhile, the brain is still seeking aid in the form of glucose, and so it has time to send to the liver for emergency stores. So the trick is to get carbs into the body to relieve the brain's distress BEFORE it can send for emergency stores from the liver.
Avatar f tn At jwilliams81 i had a third cup of juice like an hour before i drank the glucose drink but no food at all. I hope its nothing and maybe its the juice that raised my levels. Thanks for sharing. I feel better.
