glucose

Avatar m tn I was able to find this on the warnings- "Sinemet may cause the results of some tests for urine glucose or urine ketones to be wrong. Ask your doctor before you change your diet or the dose of your diabetes medicine."-- but nothing about it causing levels to actually be effected. Regardless- it's important to be in touch with your doctor about the changes you have seen since starting to take the medication. It's certainly something that you don't want to over look!
Avatar m tn However, intense exercise can have the opposite effect and actually increase your blood glucose levels. The body recognizes intense exercise as a stress and releases stress hormones that tells your body to increase available blood glucose to fuel your muscles. If your glucose levels exceed normal levels discuss with your doctor medication or medication adjustment.
Avatar n tn So my advice to you, if your urine is clear of glucose and you are still concerned, is to undergo the OGTT mentioned by Waverider above. You have my best wishes.
Avatar f tn I have gestational diabetes and they do check with every urine test to see if you have glucose in your urine. It helps them determine if your body is having issues producing and using insulin. I will tell you glucose will show up in your urine the more sugar you eat so if you are eating a lot of Ben and jerry's that's probably what is doing it. If i go off my diet and eat a few cookies they see the glucose in my urine.
Avatar n tn There are times when I check my urine for ketones when my blood glucose is particularly high. For example, this morning before I had eaten a bite, my blood sugar was 406. I checked my urine for ketones at that time and it showed moderate to high amounts of ketones in my urine. This afternoon after I ate, my blood sugar was 521 and I checked for ketones again. On the second check, it was negative to a trace. Does anyone have any ideas what could cause this to happen?

Avatar f tn Did they tell you you had glucose in your urine? Cus I tested with high glucose in my urine so I did the orange drink at 12wks and then I'm doing it again when I go back for 27wk on June 5th.
Avatar f tn t make a big deal just curious about it... I have normal blood pressure and had the glucose test done today. Any insight is helpful....
978175 tn?1304439383 A sweet smelling urine, along with frequent peeing, indicates excess glucose [blood sugar] is being expelled by your kidneys. Your kidneys act as a filter. If damaged excess glucose sneaks past the leaky filter into your urine. You want to prevent further damage so a doctor is in order. Diabetes tests are in order as well as reviewing your Levothyroxine dosage.
Avatar f tn 0 mg/dL), Glucose-Presnt(0.25 g/dL),Leucocyte Esterase -Postiive , Nitrite-Positive, RBC-Negative, and Pus Cell-2-3 WBC/HPF and rest of thing are normal as required please suggent me now what to do .
Avatar f tn I did once, which alarmed my doctor for the same reasons.... but after follow-up tests (1hr glucose test & 24hr urine catch), everything was fine. Now I'm 34weeks & everything is perfectly normal-all 'risky' levels significantly dropped. The same may happen for you, but just make sure eating a well-balanced diet. Also, never have juice, milk, or any other sugary substance before an appointment. That was my mistake.
Avatar n tn My real question though is what would cause glucose in my urine? It never showed up on the countless urine tests I had in the past. I've read that it could show 1+ after a high carb meal, but as I said I hadn't eaten in at least 14 hours, and my diet is fairly balanced and healthy, not extremely high in carbs or sugar. None of my doctors have ever suspected diabetes, but about a year and a half ago a random glucose test was normal (85).
Avatar m tn She said there were traces of glucose and white blood cells in my urine. She has asked me to go in for a blood test and I think a Prostate psa test. I forgot to tell the doctor that I had been on antibiotics for 7 days for a skin infection. I finished the course on Sunday and had a urine dipstick test on Wednesday morning. Could the medication raise urine glucose levels?
Avatar f tn My chances of developing diabetes are high, both my parents have diabetes, I got tested at 10 weeks and got normal results, at 16 weeks I got another test (due to having glucose on my urine) and my one hr came back slightly elevated 156/140 and had to do the 3 hr and got normal results! Today I eat at 9 am, I had a sprite with my meal, and I decided to check my blood sugar with my mom's machine, and to my surprise my reading came 99 after 3 hrs, it is a normal number right??
Avatar n tn When the blood sugar level is very high, as in uncontrolled diabetes, the sugar spills over into the urine. Glucose can also be found in urine when the kidneys are damaged or diseased.
