Avatar m tn My question was regarding heart rate. I am a 39 year old man. I am 5' 7". I weigh 190 lbs. I have been back in the gym for almost two months now I do anywhere from twenty minutes to an hour of cardio every time I go in including weight training. I have been going 4- 5 days a week. Prior to going back to the gym I was living a very unhealthy lifestyle. Eating very unhealthy foods and drinking to much alcohol. My question is when I get home form working out.
Avatar m tn 1. Can the heart rate or blood pressure depends on lipids or glucose level in blood? 2. Can lipids or glucose level in blood be increased by stress?
Avatar f tn Yes, albuterol definately causes the heart rate to increase rapidly. This uncomfortable side effect is one of the primary reasons we pulled our daughter off of it but still use it on an as needed basis only (very minimally). A direct definition from drugs.com states: "albuterol side effects Stop using Albuterol and get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Avatar f tn Bradycardia or low heart rate even if drug induced is a health concern. This is considered a serious side effect of the medication you are taking. https://www.webmd.com/heart-disease/atrial-fibrillation/bradycardia Do note to not stop this medication on your own or abruptly. Do so ONLY under doctor supervision. But give them a call to discuss your slow heart rate. https://www.healthline.com/health/nadolol-oral-tablet#about Please let us know what they say.
Avatar m tn Can the food we eat affect our heart rate? I'm conducting a science experiment in which I'll be testing a person's resting heart rate and then their heart rate after consuming various types of foods. (I'll be testing to see whether or not certain foods can raise or lower the heart rate) Any ideas on what foods would be best to test for the type of experiment and why? Help is appreciated!!
Avatar f tn What is the danger of your heart rate being in the range of 178 - 199 for approximately 3 hours. Blood pressure was erratic with highest noted to be 235/100?
11570509 tn?1422387166 15 mg of Propranolol is close to nothing. For beta blockers to have a true effect on heart rate, you would need much higher dose. 15 mg can help a bit on palpitations, but it will probably not reduce the heart rate so much. In my case, my heart rate during stress and anxiety drops about 10 bpm per 100 mg of Metoprolol I take daily. At 200 mg, my heart rate at work after three cups of coffee and an intense meeting is about 65 rather than 85 as it would be without.
9077628 tn?1411339700 doctor said she might turn or will probably just stay that way. Her heart rate was 152 and she was moving so much the doctor said Im gunna have a handful lol Starting my 3rd trimester tomorrow! (27 weeks) And my last ultrasound is october 8th :) Anyone else visit there doc today?
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with Gastroparesis and am wondering if a high glucose level in the blood will raise your heart rate. There have been times after eating a meal whereby my glucose level went up. My heart rate went up too, then came down on its own. Actually, will having food remaining in your stomach for a long period of time make this happen?
Avatar m tn maybe the effect of the beta blocker on your blood pressure was so strong that your heart had to speed up in order to compensate for your hypotension, and ended up beating rapidly despite the relaxing effect of the beta blocker. Just a thought ... You can work this out ... best of luck to you!
Avatar n tn Lately I notice aafter 4-5 beers it feels like my heart rate is faster. This usually happens a few hours after the beers. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn i am taking toprol xl 25 mg (half in am and half in pm. it seems to be working on bp but when i am up on my feet heart rate goes to 100-115. why isn't it working on hr.
976897 tn?1379167602 I started rehab last week and after spending 30mins pedalling like crazy on an exercise bike, I only seem to be able to achieve a heart rate of 82. I was on beta blockers and stopped them a few months ago. Can they have a long term effect? There is a reason I am thinking this. I was hospitalised with a heart rate of 25 because 5mg of bisoprolol was too strong. Even several days being back on 1.25mg, my heart rate would not increase.
Avatar m tn i undergone three blockage angioplasty.first 0ne in 2004 july & 2nd & 3rd on 17th mar2011.after 23mar2011 my heart rate became slow.this will be my first winter after slow heart rate thats why i ask, what precation i have to take for easy winter & safe life. is there any relation between slow heart rate and seasons of the year.
Avatar m tn Sitting , laying , walking , standing obv all effect your heart rate differently..
Avatar m tn Your left ventricle in your heart will be force to work harder to circulate that extra volume (resulting in a slight left ventricular hypertrophy). The increased heart rate is also another side effect of your heart working hard to circulate your blood. Those are a few basic explanation of the physiology that your body experience. I would recommend sharing your progress with your doctor and continue to follow his/her medical regiment.

Avatar f tn I was not given good guidance and waited just 5 days and started Synthroid 25 mcg which lowered my heart rate, did not affect my blood pressure, but after 15 days increased my heart rate too much and gave me symptoms of being hyper. A week later I went back to Levoxyl 25mcg after discontinuing Synthroid and Did great for 14 days until I messed up and took two doses in one day and ended up getting severe insomnia.
Avatar f tn I may be paranoid about my heart rate because my mother had a heart attack at age 44 when she was given too much thyroid hormone. I have no idea how much she was given at the time. She is still living and is 87 now. E Mail the doctor's name in a Little Rock and if I don't get some answers tomorrow, I will contact the doctor you know.
705966 tn?1239408751 wonderful attitude! :) I've gotten used to people not even acknowledging if they've read an answer, much less asking for more information. I salute you. Info is on the way. Best wishes to you. Also: I believe that the minimum dose of atenolol is 25 mg. So maybe if you were on that lower dose, your heart rate wouldn't have been so reduced. Just a curiosity: drinking orange juice with atenolol reduces blood concentrations. Drinking coffee might increase heart rate.
Avatar n tn Has anyone else experienced a low heart rate while on lexapro. Took imipramine on/off for 20+ years with the only side effect being heartrate in the 90's - then blood pressure started to go up a little. Went off imipramine and doctor put me on lexapro - now have gained a little weight, am tired, clenching jaw at night, blood pressure back down, but pulse is constantly in the 50's which is freaking me out a little. Have been on lexapro for 6 months now - libido gone also....
