Avatar n tn today on testing my urine about 30 mins after 250ml of coke and 3 sweet biscuits there was NO glucose in the urine. Can anyone explain why the first test was positive?
Avatar f tn Also is milk biscuits ok with tea im craving them again...
Avatar n tn I am on low glycemic index diet. I am regularly taking sugar readings. I am taking Humi Insulin R and Humi Insulin N to control my type 2 diabetes. Humiinsulin R acts in 30 min and has maximum effect 2-4 hours. Humiinsulin N acts in 2 hours and has maximum effect in 4-12 hours. Low GI food I take produces rasies sugar in my body slowly and has maximum effect in 2 hours. If I take 500 calories it should raise my sugar level by 330 in two hours.

Avatar n tn There is glucose stored in liver and muscles and blood transfers the glucose. When you do strenuous exercise all the glucose in muscles is depleted and due to the craving Liver starts metabolism of converting your stores into Glucose for energy. If your muscles are deprived for long you get this lactic acidosis or muscle cramps. So for getting continuous energy you have to tone your body.
Avatar n tn ve been to the doctor and had a 6 hour glucose test which they had to stop at 3 hours because my bg went down to 32, but now they want to test for corisol? Which I don't understand what that is for?
Avatar m tn Today I ate a breakfast burrito and had orange juice. My blood glucose was 92 thirty minutes after eating. Sometimes it will fall in the 60 range. My fasting blood glucose level was around 80. It seems like my body overcompensates when I consume sugar. Do you think I have reactive hypoglycemia?
Avatar n tn Hi all, I'm a 25 year old male who just had some blood work done for some chest, arm/leg pains I've been having. Xray and all blood work came back fine except for the glucose levels which I was told were "a bit high." Probably 45 minutes before the blood tests, I had a bowl of frosted mini wheats and a glass of juice. I am going back to get a fasting test, but wanted to know if eating the food/drink right before could have caused glucose reading to be a bit high?
1028452 tn?1537448484 On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!

Avatar f tn If I cook some biscuits using egg is it okay for me to eat them after they have been cooked?
Avatar n tn You appear to be playing a guessing game with your glucose level by checking only weekly. As the previous poster stated, you need to obtain a home glucose meter. When should you check your glucose? 1. Right after waking and before eating breakfast. Do not eat anything at least 8 hours prior. This is called preprandial (before eating) level. 2. Then postprandial (2-4 hours after eating). The latter is when glucose levels peak from the food you have consumed. 3.

Avatar n tn If you eat a varied, healthy and well balanced diet and don't overdo it on the cakes, biscuits, sweets, fizzy drinks and too much fruit drinks, and exercise, you should be fine. It is true that anyone at any age could get diabetes, pre diabetes or glucose intolerance. Being overweight with a lot of fat around the belly, having a parent or siblings with diabetes, this will put you at a higher risk of getting the disease.
Avatar f tn I had to use an artificial sweetener for in my cups of tea, or in anything that required sugar. i also stayed away from white bread, biscuits, potatoes, basically all junk food! Good things to snack on were diet yogurts, and anything protein. I found that if i was really hungry i would make an omelette to fill me up and it wouldn't affect my glucose levels. I was able to diet control mine, so never ended up on insulin.
Avatar n tn Then levels go back to normal range without any apparent change in diet or exercise. Whenever the doc orders fasting tests i am in the normal range. I have done the glucose tolerance test twice, the first test made me crash too low after 2-3 hours "63". The second time was normal . Original diagnosis of pre diabetes was made because I had several episodes of getting too low after running . The recent high glcose readings i had were the first I have ever had that were too high.
