Glucose and vertigo

Common Questions and Answers about Glucose and vertigo

glucose

Avatar m tn Today, I had my usual non-sugared oatmeal for breakfast, a light lunch (bowl of soup), and some raisins and prunes between meals, Around 6pm I began feeling hypoglycemic, with a vertigo sensation (like the room was spinning). I tested my glucose and it was 74. I had a few handfuls of trail mix and around 15 minutes later I was at 100, but am still having vertigo. I had dinner a few minutes ago and while the earlier symptoms have largely subsided, the vertigo is still there.
Avatar m tn I attribute this to the huge adrenaline rush that I experienced and the subsequent uptake of glucose rapidly afterward (and other sympathetic rebound mechanisms perhaps). This is pseudoscience of course, but my friends want to go again and i don't want to miss out because of this weird hangover I seemed sensitive to. Basically, does this sound like an anomaly? Or am I really sensitive to this?
Avatar n tn It usually starts with extreme heart palpitations. My dr has run ths, glucose intolerance, ekg and stress test. Results were all negative. I did have a slight problem wit glucose, but he said it was alright. Sometimes I go for weeks without a problem but lately it has been ongoing. Any help will be appreciated, I'm at my wits end here. thanks, B..........
Avatar m tn For around 8 months I have experienced extreme fatigue along with bouts of vertigo like dizzyness, I have been on thyroxine for hypothyroid for over a year and I have had a blood test which shows everyone normal and nothing abnormal and my thyroid stable, however I have been to do the doctor due to the vertigo which feels like I'm on a boat, headaches and recurring bouts off feeling like I'm going to pass out even after eating. I am 22 year old male and only weigh 9.9.
Avatar n tn Less common disorders that cause vertigo include multiple sclerosis, seizures, infections, fractures at the base of the skull, head injuries, and tumors growing in or near the base of the brain. Vertigo can sometimes be part of a migraine attack and occasionally occur without the headache. Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into.
Avatar n tn I went to the doctor today and she told me my blood pressure was low and so was my blood glucose. However, after eating sugar like she suggested, the dizziness increased. It also gets worse as the day progresses and I often feel like it's an effort to keep my head upright. I have no idea why this is happening and I'd really like it to stop. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn I have unmedicated MS, primary reading epilepsy and high blood sugar but didn't look after that. Could that be caused by either? I know MS causes dizziness but it's specifically when I turn around.

Avatar n tn For the past year or so the following episodes have happened to me on about a weekly basis. If I'm looking at the PC for longer then a few minutes (hands on the keyboard) I'll get a very strange sensation in my head and my vision will begin to blur and shake. If I don't put my head down and rub my eyes I will get nauseas to the point of almost vomiting. The episodes range from a few minutes to several minutes long.
209591 tn?1267414714 This helped the eardrum go down as well as the apparent ear infection I had at the time. The ENT said that it could have made the Vertigo worse, but was not the main cause, and in turn sent me for an MRI with and w/o contrast and well as Vestibular PT. I had already done the Vestibular PT eval just 6 weeks in advance. This time the results were much worse she said, she didn't give me the results from the first time.
Avatar f tn Not a question just venting. I went to my doctors from the very beginning of this pregnancy, telling them I was anemic with my first child, and show signs of it again. They wrote me off saying they needed a first trimester blood test to compare against second trimester. Now in the 3rd trimester, after a glucose test, the doctor subtly says I'm anemic, and I tested POSITIVE anemia a while ago and someone should have called me but didn't.
Avatar f tn I've been having some weird symptoms that started a bit over a month ago. Some of these symptoms include muscle spasms all over my body, nausea, and dizziness. I've never had vertigo in my life and I can barely stand to be in a car. I thought that my blood tests would reveal something. My doctor said that my testosterone level was about 50.
1179375 tn?1296662480 After having triplets and and a single in the same year, 2001, I started having tingling in my hands and extreme fatigue. Of course I thought it was stress. For years more "symptoms" have came and went. In 2005 After a routine physical, blood work showed my white cell count was too high. After a few appointments with an oncologist it fixed itself and nothing came from it.
Avatar m tn Now, a VA doctors comes out to my house and tells me that he now thinks that I have Vertigo and Movement Vertigo which is causing my Anxiety situation. Can I be treated for vertigo and Tinnitus after all these years with success or is it too later for me now that 30 yrs have gone by without treatment of any kind? What can the neurologist and hearing doctors do for me now at this late stage in life and time?
5595892 tn?1370579752 Diabetes- Mg enhances insulin secretion, facilitating sugar metabolism. Without Mg insulin is not able to transfer glucose into cells. Glucose and insulin build up in the blood causing various types of tissue damage. Fatigue- Mg-deficient patients commonly experience fatigue because dozens of enzyme systems are under-functioning. An early symptom of Mg deficiency is frequently fatigue. Heart disease- Mg deficiency is common in people with heart disease.
Avatar n tn I need help figuring out what may be causing these symptoms: Over the past year I have had fullness and pressure in my left ear. when it releases I hear hissing in that ear and I get vertigo. This lasts from 1 to 4 minutes and I get these "episodes" any where from 4 to 8 times a month, somtimes more. Over the past couple months new symptoms have arisen. Now when the pressure releases I have a loss of coordination, I cannot focus my vision and I get nausea.
Avatar n tn I am having an issue that's basically put my life on hold and I'm working with my doctor to figure it out. But I am always open to more ideas with respect to what this could be. I've provided a list of recent symptoms and also symptoms chronologically. Symptoms over the past two weeks: Persistent fatigue, brainfog, vertigo, and pressure and heat/"burning" in the back of my neck and head, all of which gradually increase in intensity until I lay down.
Avatar f tn Since three years I have had vertigo and balance problems, periods of severe fatigue, frequent viruses but no fever or obvious infections, just catarrh and slight sinus problems. I have also had a racing heart. The viruses are debilitating and for instance I was suffering chronic fatigue for the past four months out of six and the rest of the time tire easily. I am 53 and through the menopause (with only minor problems). Each doctor did his bit and said goodbye and ignored my other symptoms.
5140021 tn?1364185966 Assuming you have vertigo and it's not a symptom of anxiety attacks, which it very often is, there are gentler methods of treating it than an antidepressant you have to take all the time and that is hard to stop taking. Ginger is a natural remedy that helps many with this problem, and there are drugs such as antivert you only need to take as needed. The question here is, why do you have vertigo?
Avatar m tn Generally low sodium or blood sugar precipitates non epileptic seizures. Another possibility is brain ischemia or low oxygen. Sleep disorders and benign positional vertigo can also cause both dizziness and seizures. Please discuss this with your daughter’s treating doctor. Take care!
Avatar n tn While getting the migranes, having a cup of chamomille tea at night helped much. Also, my mom and other relatives had vertigo and felt normal a week after having the medications, therefore, I believe I don't have vertigo. But see a neurologist, it doesn't hurt to get a second or even third opinion, good luck.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed as hypo last year after several bouts of dizziness, mostly while walking or standing. Bloodwork showed that I have hypothyroidism (hashimoto's). After taking several different doses of synthroid, and finally getting my levels in the "ideal" range earlier this year, I'm still dizzy. The labs say I'm in the normal range for t3, t4, tsh, etc. I've had glucose tests, adrenaline tests, MRI, seen an ENT, and I feel like giving up.
Avatar n tn Had vertigo 2 years and more, doctors keep labelling it Menirse disease which is vertigo but I believe a trigger has caused it , I'm 35 and it came about with inner ear infection when staying on farm and also being around black mold, since then and ear infections have kind of stopped , the vertigo remained

Avatar n tn I've been having episodes of vertigo the past week or so and wonder if it is related to diet pop. I stopped drinking or eating things with aspartame to see if it would help me with migraines, which it did. But, this week I was at a party which I did have some diet pop. I then started having an attack of vertigo. I get the vertigo occasionally, but this time it is not going away completely. It will get better for a day or so and then it's back.
Avatar m tn i have EXACTLY the same symptoms you do, mild dizziness, off balance, sometimes getting worse for several minutes but never true vertigo, i almost feel like passing out or something, painless pressure around my eyes and upper nose and directly on top of the head, like its inflating in there. so far i havent had any answers (ive posted about it before) except that it might be an ethmoid/sphenoid sinus infection. i also heard it could be allergies.
