Common Questions and Answers about Glucose and sucrose difference

glucose

Avatar m tn t make the difference when talking about sugars because even if it is fructose, lactose or sucrose or glucose and even if it's from a candy or a vegetable, in the end they will all end up being glucose in your body. What does make a point tho is that complex carbohydrates take longer time to break down in your body to that means the blood glucose remains more stable. Complex carbohydrates are startchy food like patatoes, rice and pastas.
315737 tn?1407298997 These changes are also thought to be markers for aging. The scientists say that it is the fructose molecule in the sucrose, not the glucose, that plays the larger part.20 Because it is metabolized by the liver, fructose does not cause the pancreas to release insulin the way it normally does. Fructose converts to fat more than any other sugar. This may be one of the reasons Americans continue to get fatter. Fructose raises serum triglycerides significantly.
610738 tn?1263111556 Google "sucrose intolerance" and you will find many resouces, and links to help you. When my son was young he suffered from this. The only option I had was to read every label on the foods. I was shocked at how many foods contain this! But you need to find a doctor (maybe an Endocrinologist) who is familiar with this, or maybe a Gastroenterologist.
Avatar m tn Yomike, I strongly suggest you to consider "low-FODMAP diet" (search online). Basically it means avoiding sugars like glucose, sucrose, fructose and lactose ..one or more of these often cause bloating and diarrhea in people diagnosed with IBS.

2135035 tn?1345463035 "does stress can effect the fasting level ?? or the overall glucose level?? " Yes, stress has been known to elevate blood sugars. A few tips can be found by Googling "How to relieve stress". "And what about the pp readings it just went up by 6 from 96 to 104 is that a disorder or what ??" By "pp" I'm going to assume you meant postprandial [after meal 2-3 hours]. A postprandial level of 104 mg/dl implies prediabetes.
Avatar f tn When I have a sore throat (which I have at the moment) I take lozenges and and pain killers. Here I am at 3am feeling really poorly with a sore throat and have just sucked some lozenges and taken some pain killers. I have been on Effexor XR for quite a few years, and always sucked lozenges and taken cough mixtures. What happens if I do this then? I have frequent sore throats. Never thought I shouldn't do this.
973741 tn?1342342773 I would say, though, that sugar kills teeth and causes inflammation. Is it really worth it if these kids are not going to become professional athletes? What's the likelihood that will happen? Infinitesimal, at best. As for oatmeal, oatmeal is always partially cooked or else it's not oatmeal -- the uncooked version is the whole oat, or oat groat, which takes a long time to cook.
Avatar f tn The term “sugar” in the AHA’s calculation refers to added sweeteners including sucrose, high fructose corn syrup, dextrose, glucose, maltose and several more; it does not include natural sugars found in foods like fruit, milk and beans. Table sugar’s caloric contribution may be small when used in moderation, but it can play a role in obesity and dental problems.
3093770 tn?1389739126 Red Bull contains caffeine, taurine, glucuronolactone, B-group vitamins, sucrose, and glucose In the last 3 weeks I had a few cans of Red Bull, maybe one can every third - forth day. It really help me tremendoulsy with the headaches. For me it works like this: headache leads to severe nausea and throwing up. 20 min after a Red Bull headache is gone, hence no nausea.
1158557 tn?1262725929 The only bad thing I can say about these is they are huge and you have to take 4 before breakfast and 4 before lunch, which is somewhat difficult to get down because of the size. I took my first dose at 5p and I can say I felt a difference by 6p. My mood did elevate, I noticed a little energy, and I was a little calmer. I'm coming off of Vicoprofen and Percocet, this is day one all over again for me.
1355431 tn?1369975306 The biggest difference betwee HFCS and white sugar is that HFCS is almost 1/2 fructose, while white sugar is a combination of sucrose and fructose. The body actually gets energy from glucose and the liver *does* convert HFCS to glucose, which is then used to produce energy. HFCS does not affect the blood sugar in the same manner as white sugar.
773755 tn?1328119777 how 'natural' are xylitol and stevia? they at the health food store assure me that it's natural :) sounds so artificial! tastes okay. i'm off glucose and sucrose for a couple weeks. this is to help restore some balance in my gut microbia. and it's working by the way! i must have my cup of tea! in fact it was the ONLY thing i looked forward to in the day, for a few dark months back there... weird huh. is one any better than the other?
675347 tn?1365460645 Certain harmful refined dietary sugars (which are specifically discussed below) almost always turn directly into fat! Glucose, Fructose, Sucrose, Galactose, Maltose, and Lactose are digested and absorbed with such speed that the body must convert them into saturated fats. Saturated Fatty Acids are "sticky" by nature, and, when introduced into the vascular system, clog arteries, increase the chance of stroke, diabetes, and definitively decrease athletic performance.
Avatar f tn Whats the difference between labor and delivery and the mother/baby unit?? I'm confused I guess lol.

660872 tn?1238641245 Hi, does anyone know why iron sucrose can't be given as a total dose infusion? Everything I can find on the net says that it has to be given in 100mg doses to a maximum of 3 doses a week. The largest dose I could find is 200mgs at time. I need 1,000 to 1500mgs and would rather have it all at once. I can't have iron dextran due to severe reactions. Has anyone here had larger doses? Any problems?
Avatar f tn carbonated water, sucrose, glucose, sodium citrate, taurine, glucuronolactone, caffeine, inositol, niacin, D-pantothenol, pyridoxine HCL, vitamin B12, artificial flavours, colors. After water, the next 2 main ingredients are sugar. That is certainly not good for you. It won't hurt the baby, as long as you are eating well and this is additional. Then there is caffeine, a number of vitamins and other nutrients, and chemicals. The caffeine probably won't hurt the baby in small amounts.
Avatar m tn Hello, my name is Heather and I am from the United States/Michigan. My sister and I were one of the first two diagnosed with CSID over 30 years ago. I am very familar and did the clinical trials with the FDA for Sucraid (the oral meds used to tolerage Sucrose). It is so interesting to hear and see new faces with this disease. We have full mutation of the disease so we can not with stand any sucrose.

Avatar n tn When label reading what do I stay away from? What sugars are acceptable...sucrose, glucose, table sugar? Any insight and information you can provide would be helpful. Is it at all possible that either the test is inaccurate OR could my stomach be so down and out due to stress...yes I have a lot of it (4 kids and a husband :) )that my stomach was stripped and now needs to heal and then maybe I can tolerate fructose again.
Avatar n tn t react in a particular way. Every body is difference, and perhaps yours has an unusual reaction to coffee. Have you tried decaf and seen how your blood sugar does? Have you tried just straight black coffee, no cream or sugar? You might want to experiment a little, to see if it's the caffeine that''s the culprit, and if it is, you might want to give it up. Good luck with the sleuthing.
972862 tn?1249258238 I used to have at least 10 coffees a day, 2 sugars in each, and I was insulin resistant, I cut out the coffee and drink loads of green tea with a half tab of stevia. Lost a lot of weight and glucose tests dropped, insulin resistance tests dropped from 6.8 down to 4.0. I also changed my diet and used IsoWhey protein drink, with blueberries, banana, ground seeds, and rice milk as a meal replacement. Ate a good breakfast, with fruit and vegies throughout the day.
1337425 tn?1278173987 Is Crave Control something you can buy at a local grocery store or what? Sounds like something VERY interesting... so thanks!
Avatar m tn Here’s another one, while we[humans] can digest many carbohydrates such as and sucrose and fructose and large chains, bacteria and fungi, have been engineered by evolution to digest almost anything you can throw at it… it can digest all kind of carbohydrates including many artificial carbohydrates. Sugars are carbohydrates too but smaller.
Avatar n tn He recommended Iron IV therapy one dose of venofer and iron sucrose and everything should be fine. My concern is that i do not feel better and simple activities like climbing aflight of stairs or walking through a parking lot wear me out.
