Common Questions and Answers about Glucose and sodium

glucose

Avatar f tn Usually to raise K, they would give you sodium if that is low and if that is the issue (and the BP is not an issue), or give you K directly if that is needed. It could be infection - or just no reason. I have a friend that just tanks - no reason. Just had surgery - things are a bit off - needs to heal.
Avatar f tn Be very contiou of your sodium and potassium intake. Sodium causes us to retain water and potassium is wha balances it. Sodium/Potassium should be 1:6 ration but as you can look into is sodium is in everything and potasium gets very easily depleted from the body especially from medications. Make sure you are eating 5-6 times a day. Make a fist with both hands and put them together and that is the siz of your stomach, approx, so be careful of portion control.
Avatar m tn do u have hiv if your hiv 1/0/2 ABS-index value is 2.85? My glucose is 116 and my sodium is 141. My HbAIC% is 5.
Avatar f tn I would recommend getting your potassium rechecked, along with your sodium, magnesium, calcium, glucose, etc., a thyroid panel and a female hormone panel.
Avatar m tn Every morning I wake up and I feel real weak and tired and have no energy, it takes me about a half an hour to get out of bed. I am 54 and take a 0.25mg Xanax before I go to bed. Could this be the cause of my symptoms or could it be something else. I have been taking the Xanax for over two years now and this weak, tied no energy feeling started about six months ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn She also felt the Electolyte inbalance was unimportant I told her my previous blood tests they were mid normal, 140 for sodium and 26 for carbon, she said these things fluctuate a lot and are not really important. Is this true? Also my last glucose reading was 75 and that was non fasting. Should I worry about the increase, she says fluctuates like that are normal. So that is wear I stand. What should I do? I don’t usually go to the doctors a lot, are all doctors like her?
Avatar m tn And yet the symptoms have remained, no matter what I do. Did pinprick blood glucose test when I have the symptoms, and it always came out normal. Fasting glucose levels were normal until recently. I'm not overweight (male, 44 yrs, 5'8" and 146 lbs), but I have added inches to my abdomen. I also don't exercise regularly, which I know I have to rectify. I've been to many doctors, including endos.
Avatar f tn I have a sore throat and my symptoms keep worsening. I am also on Effexor XR and I know I can't take nurofen cold n flu or aspirin... I have some sore throat lozenges at home which have dequalinium chloride as the active ingredient along with ascorbic acid. I have tried searching the internet for possible interactions but I can't find anything in regards to that. Is there something about it I should be worried about? If so, what alternatives would you suggest?
Avatar m tn I'm diagnosed Hypoglycemic and currently taking Trenbolone and Liothyronine Sodium. Now i'm aware that Trenbolone can lower ones T3 levels which im countering with Liothyronine Sodium but i also know that Trenbolone can raise blood pressure and hypoglycemia is low blood sugar. My diet is made up of regular meals every 3 hours of protein, fats and carbs to keep hypoglycemia at bay.
Avatar n tn You can look into getting salt tablets but try to get the type that are non-buffered as you may want to avoid extra potassium. Usually with adrenal issues, sodium goes low and potassium goes high and that is the classic adrenal crisis. This is not always the case as I know I tank in both Na and K and know others that do but until you know, adding extra K is not what you should do. Make sure you eat regular, healthy meals as well and keep hydrated.
Avatar f tn the first time I had a soup for dinner which contains a lot of sodium ....and I failed that one.... my second glucose test I made sure to eat chicken salads all week!! Lol especially the night before... and I passed!! Good luck!!

Avatar n tn said everything was good except for his Glucose. To elimante sugars and carbs and see you back in 3 months. We received a copy of his blood work today. His Glucose is 110, Sodium 141, TSH 3rd generation is 4.80. Triglycerides 199, Total Cholesterol 179, HDL 24 L , LDL 115 and his CHOL/HDLC 7.5. My main question is could the things that were flagged ( above ) especially the TSH 3 be due to Cholesterol and Glucose?
Avatar f tn I just had my glucose test done Monday and all I had was water and a prenatal vitamin before. The first hour I wanted to hurl, but when they said I would have to start over another day if I puked I fought the urge.
Avatar m tn Taking into account that for a week now, the patient has been taking Eltroxin Levothyroxine Sodium 25 microgram a day and has a Fasting Blood Glucose level of 139 mg/dl and Glucose after 2 hours of 188 mg/dl. Please help. Thank you a million.
Avatar m tn I have a friend that was like that and her problem was low glucose, when you feel like that try to go to the pharmacy and test you're glucose. I think 3 months is to much to test for you thyroid hormones, after changing you're medication you should retest them in 4-6 weeks. May be you need to adjust you're medication.
Avatar f tn glucose, calcium, pre-albumin, albumin, electrolytes (sodium, CO2, potassium and chloride), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine, alkaline phosphatase (ALP), alanine amino transferase (ALT), aspartate amino transferase (AST), and bilirubin.
Avatar n tn , decreases in capillary densities (vaso obliteration), decreased movments due to obesity are bit indicative on internests in some scattered studies. Glucose and some other substances as sodium are hygroscopic and may attract water in blod lowering blood tonicity. Probably as such, cells of vascular walls may swell and effect transcapillary movements. Athrosclerosis, of arteries, lipids depositions etc. may also have such impact.
Avatar f tn My diet consists of salads with reduced fat dressings, salmon, chicken, tuna, occasional steak, green vegetables, occasional sweet potato, nuts, cottage cheese, greek yogurt and Atkins bars. I recently had a blood test and my fasting blood sugar went from 87 to 96, and my A1C rose from 5.8 to 5.9. I was shocked because my diet has not included simple carbs for the past 6 months.
