With fruit it’s important to eat them with other foods to slow the absorption of fructose. I'm NOT saying that these foods aren't allowed. What I AM saying is that you need to use care and follow the guidelines for diabetics – avoid sugar, avoid bad carbs, avoid sugary liquids, eat proper foods like more vegies, fish and poultry.

Is it at all possible that either the test is inaccurate OR could my stomach be so down and out due to stress...yes I have a lot of it (4 kids and a husband :) )that my stomach was stripped and now needs to heal and then maybe I can tolerate fructose again.

One must make and maintain lifestyle changes in order to control and manage their diabetes and/or help reverse it. Reversing diabetes depends greatly on your unknown glucose levels and how long you've been that way. It depends also on your current body weight and diet.

Test before and 2-3 hours after eating to see how that fruit affected your glucose levels. You can also Google search 'high fructose foods and fruits with highest fructose levels' for references.

Test prior to a meal and 2-3 hrs following to see how that food affected your glucose levels. Keep a written log as a reminder as to what foods you should be eating. Fruits have fructose, fruit sugar. Tropical fruits, oranges, and like are high in fructose. Berries & some melons on the other hand are low in fructose.

Yes, in bread, it is in my canned tomatoes, etc. So #1 we are facing a higher intake of sugar than EVER before. #2.... and this would be in CAPS, that HFCS.....High Fructose Corn Syrup if radically different than regular sugars.

Fructose is also in HFCS (high fructose corn syrup. Complete exclusion of fructose, HFCS, sucrose and sorbitol is needed.
Avatar n tn You are doing only 1/3 of what is necessary to control and manage your glucose levels. Maintaining normal body and daily 30-60 minute exercise must be undertaken. As you know, diet alone does not do the trick. You must adhere to all three - diet, weight, and exercise. And, yes, illness can spike glucose levels. I don't know what you mean by "if one can eat more normally by taking Metformin". If you mean return to your old eating habits that created your diabetes, absolutely not.

3060903 tn?1398565123 hello, actually if you are trying to avoid raising your blood sugar you may need to eliminate sweet fruits and starchy veges, which are both high in carbs. You don't need to eat sweet fruits for health. Everything that is in fruits are also in vegetables. If you want to be exacting some fo the foods we call vegetables are also fruits (ie. egg plant, cucumber etc). Do eat plenty of non-starchy veges though to get all your phyto nutrients, vitamins and minerals.
Avatar m tn Yomike, I strongly suggest you to consider "low-FODMAP diet" (search online). Basically it means avoiding sugars like glucose, sucrose, fructose and lactose ..one or more of these often cause bloating and diarrhea in people diagnosed with IBS.

I get sad and frustrated just thinking about it. I don't really know what to eat or how much carbs and sugar I can but still stay in a good level.
Avatar f tn After cutting out all fructose from my diet i still get hypoglycemia. After ingesting pure glucose my sugar goes up and then drops low even faster after 2 hours. I don't think it's diabetes because my morning levels are usually fine, it seems to be reactive after eating. My question is, could my Pituitary have anything to do with this response somehow? I do have a blurry vision, but it's not constant, comes and goes. Thank you!

When a persons glucose level reaches 126 mg/dl and above they are considered diabetic. A level of 127 mg/dl is considered diabetes but is at an early stage and can be reversed like prediabetes or borderline IF your friend makes lifestyle changes.

Ideal foods for training are bananas, which are easy to eat, good for you, and contain plenty of carbs. After workout eat a meal that contains both carbs and protein to help maximise the benefits of your workout. Baked potato with cheese and meat? Pasta with meat sauce. Egg sandwhich.
Avatar m tn It sounds like you are getting too low before you are due to eat which could mean several things: You are not eating enough carbs for breakfast or you need to eat another meal sooner,perhaps you are exercising more than before or perhaps your Metformin is controlling your diabetes "too well" and your Doctor needs to lower the dose.
