Glucose and copper reaction

Common Questions and Answers about Glucose and copper reaction

glucose

Avatar f tn I was concerned because I know copper/zinc ratio is important so we agreed on copper 5 times a week and zinc twice a week and to supplement D. He insisted that my glucose is nothing to worry about and to exercise 30 minutes a day because of high LDL. He said thyroid effects on cholesterol is exaggerated and that the reason for my high LDL is my parents (genes). My HDL is good, so I can again avoid cholesterol medication.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I got a Paragard (Copper) IUD inserted about a month ago. Just about 2 days ago, I started to experience symptoms of contact dermatitis on my upper body (shoulders, chest, arms, face, neck). I was wondering if I was having an allergic reaction to the Copper IUD? I'm aware that there is Nickel and Copper in the device, and I'm not sure if I'm allergic to those metals or not.
Avatar m tn Went and got a copper coil fitted as emergency contraception last week. Ever since I experienced HORRENDOUS cramping and a lot of bleeding. Except it wasn't like a period it was bright red thin blood, not normal. Anyway, I went to get it taken out and the cramping immediately stopped. They measured my uterus and said that it was very small (4-6cm) (I'm a 20 year old) and that my coil may have been to big for me and that I could have another in the future (no thank you).

Avatar n tn Chronic hypercalciuria may lead to impairment of renal function, nephrocalcinosis, and renal insufficiency.) and poor urine acidification. Therapy with copper-chelating agents can improve renal function.
10515800 tn?1419227034 My friend had the exact same problem. She had the same symptoms the rest of the night. They were gone after she slept but she never stopped spotting. That lasted a month. She gave up and replaced the Mirena with a copper Paraguard- instant success! & it lasts longer. I, also, had the copper IUD. I had it for 13 years and I was fine. Had it removed in May and was, happily, preggers by August. It is very safe.
Avatar n tn If you are low in zinc, SD might not be as stable and might allow copper to break away. The temporarily freed copper might cause the smell. And since some diabetics are also low in zinc, it seems plausible. Maybe try supplementing with zinc and see if the smell disappears?
Avatar f tn One of the most common causes of neuropathy is diabetes, and sometimes only glucose intolerances, or abnormal rises in blood sugar after a glucose load can be the only indication (this is called a oral glucose tolerance test.
Avatar m tn I started taking Tricor about 6 months ago and since then my fasting glucose has been around 126 and my glucose intolerance is 178. My A1C has always been around 4.2 and now is 6.8. Are there any other medications out there for lowering triglycerides that wont cause this reaction? Tricor also makes me nausiated.
Avatar f tn t as bad nor the cramping and the spotting stopped as well. Everyone has a different reaction though. Best of luck!
Avatar f tn I would definitely get in touch with your doctor as there is a warning that the IUD can move out of place and puncture your uterus without you knowing, and severe pain and bleeding can be signs of an Ectopic Pregnancy. Call your doc and get in asap unless it gets worse in that case I would go to the Clinic. Good luck P.S. Doctors claim that Mirena does not make you pain weight but its ********!
Avatar f tn i dont get my mouth swallen and anything like that, i just feel so weak as i´m going to pass out. i had the glucose test done but it came back normal. i have no idea of what this could be, dysautonomia maybe? or could this be an allergy to fruit or something?
Avatar n tn My wife is a type 1 diabetic and is almost 12 weeks pregnant. She recently experienced a dangerously low blood sugar (20 or below) and had to be taken to the emergency room. All the literature I've read and the doctors I've asked say that it isn't a terrible problem as long as the mother didn't stop breathing and the reaction was treated promptly, but we still can't shake the fear and anxiety that something bad happened.
Avatar n tn t react in a particular way. Every body is difference, and perhaps yours has an unusual reaction to coffee. Have you tried decaf and seen how your blood sugar does? Have you tried just straight black coffee, no cream or sugar? You might want to experiment a little, to see if it's the caffeine that''s the culprit, and if it is, you might want to give it up. Good luck with the sleuthing.
Avatar m tn Take zink. Copper toxidity can cause dry eyes and fatigue. Zink balance it out. Its hard to correct the imbalance with food alone.
Avatar f tn Definitely the sugar test and fasting. I've had about 5 rH negative shots (different pregnancies) and was fine but that dang glucose test makes me feel weak and dizzy every time and I'm about to go in Thursday for my 5th test (different pregnancies).
Avatar f tn First off there is a reason it is called a Copper T. The iud is made of copper and shaped like a T. The reason is made of copper is because copper actually kills sperm. The fluids inside your body kill a lot of sperm the moment it is introduced the copper helps to kill the rest. It is shaped like a T because the top part of the is attached to your uterus where an egg would typically attach itself.
Avatar n tn they can cause permanent sterility in women and major issues, such as abnormal cell growth and deformities of your inner workings. they are very controversial and can be very dangerous. most providers will not recommend them and will seriously discourage you from using one. get it out asap, and if your provider encouraged you to get one, go see someone else who will have your personal health in mind when prescribing you something.
Avatar n tn It is usual to have such an initial reaction to metformin. Suggest you start off with just 1/2 or 1/4 tablet per day and then slowly increase to the recommended dose based on the resolution of your symptoms. If this doesn't work, you can ask your dr for slow release version. If your urine glucose is HI then you blood glucose must be way higher. if the meds don't bring your sugar down fairly quickly please ask your dr about insulin!
Avatar f tn ve noticed that the area between my labia majora and minora (near the top, either side of the clitoris) becomes red and irritated, and by the end of the week it has become itchy. There are no spots that I can see. It just looks a little sore. This time there was even slight itching just before my period started. This usually subsides once my period totally stops and I no longer have to wear sanitary pads and/or tampons. Can anyone think why this happens? It's so annoying!
Avatar n tn I was in a situation with my second pregnancy whereby the doctors used my situation as sort of a trial to see what low glucose would do to me and my baby. They slightly overdosed me on insulin and I found myself passing out cold about once every couple of weeks. I remember asking my doctors how this was affecting my baby and they assured me that the baby gets all the glucose he or she needs even if the mom is severely hypo. My child was a bit on the small side when born, but very normal.
7670156 tn?1401987192 After my daughter I got on the shot. I did amazing with it the first time. I ended up getting off it because something went wrong with my insurance so I had to take pills. I took ortho trip cyclen for two years. Then I got back on the shot and gained 60 lbs in 6 months! It increased my appetite so much and I always felt hungry. I didn't have any periods though. Then I tries the nuvaring and it was annoying taking it out for sex. It hurt with it in during sex.
