glucosamine

Avatar n tn Many years ago my family had a little mini poodle (about 17 pounds) and suddenly she became _paralyzed_ in her back legs. We were terrified. We live not far from an amazing vet hospital, (Univ of Pa) and she did need surgery as I believe it was two discs (now I wonder if it was vertebrae?) that started putting so much pressure on her spinal nerve it would have fully paralyzed her if they hadn't taken them out. She did very well and lived a full life after the surgery.
Avatar m tn ) Back to topic, umm i went to a pharmacy and they told me that it was too much ( 5000 iu ), then i told them that i really need it because my vit d level is too low then they said thats its dangerous because its fat soluble... to be honest i didnt get their point. Now i stopped taking those 400 ui ( was taking 5 tablets per day ) and felt bad after them. Liquid form ? Do u mean like drops? What should i say to my doctor when asking about liquid form?
Avatar n tn I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something. It is much easier for her to take. I put her back on a food with glucosamine and she isnt having any problems. I learned my lesson about changing foods.
638291 tn?1233060603 I would like to find out if it's ok to take liquid collagen and what are the benefits Than you
161647 tn?1280608163 The only thing I can think of was that my mom started taking Glucosamine last year. Can the Glucosamine affect eye vision. Or does anyone have any suggestions. My mom is worried that there is something seriously wrong because the doctor said the next step is too see a retina specialist. Thanks for any advise.
Avatar f tn (was not at all like that before taking it, and not taking anything else) I am taking Nature Made 5000 iu liquid gel caps at dinnertime. I know I need them at only 13, so even though my first doses made me feel SO bad, I am still taking it a couple days later. IS THIS NORMAL?? Will I get used to this or is something here not right?????
Avatar n tn I checked UBAvet, did you give their liquid glucosamine to your dog? I tried Synflex for him but he got severe diarrhea, might be due to the numerous other ingredients in the formula.
Avatar f tn 8. I have been on 5000 IU for about 3 months and it has not risen above that level. I read where the goal should be about 50-80 for hypo individuals. The cytomel comment was a miscalculation on my part of the FT3 level. I also thought lower levels could be associated with lingering symptoms.
Avatar f tn I had a vitamin b-12 deficiency as a child and had to take it as a liquid daily,I had lost clumps of hair. Today I went to the doctor and she told me I looked like I had a b-12 deficiency. When I asked her what she meant she said she noticed places on my face that were dry and red around the edges of my mouth. She told me to get a bottle of 1,000 mcg and take it every day for a couple of months and see if it goes away. I went to walmart and all they had was the 2500 or 5000 sublingual.
Avatar f tn I also have arthritis in my fingers, which is getting worse. A friend advised me to take glucosamine but considering it is made from the shells of sea creatures I wonder whether it contains iodine. Does anyone know if it would effect the thyroxine?
Avatar m tn 21century, product: k9 maximum joint health). At my work (agriculture supplies) we have a formula for horses. 50ml dose Glucosamine is HCI (10,000mg) Chondroitin is shark cartilage (1,000mg) MSM (2,000mg) Boswellia (4,000mg) Yucca (500mg) a one liter bottle is $40 and would last almost a year at 750mg glucosamine doses. My question is can I use this for my dog, are the supplement ratios okay?
Avatar f tn t drink flavoured sodas, eat junk or over drink (yes, I still drink). I am currently taking liquid vitamin D3. About 5000 IUs a day hoping that maybe this is the reason for all the "body wars" inside. I was tested and had a low, but not detrimental, number count on my vitamin D score. Is there a supplement I can take that will help with all this dryness? I can't bathe in creams any longer. They don't work, most stink and I wanna to work from the inside. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn She is about 47 lbs and is having hip discomfort......I want to buy a glucosamine supplement to see if help but some of them that I am seeing have a lot side effects....Do you have any suggestions for one that has less side effects?
Avatar f tn Can please guide me which vitamin. D3 i need to take ... There are 1000, 5000, 10000 ( and 10up,25up) etc , so i am very confuse which vit D i should take please. Any brand ( holland and B?) Recommendation will be good (UK).
Avatar f tn VDR polymorphism Supplementing with 5000 IU of D3 in sublingual liquid drops, would be more in line with most health practioners recommendations and safe, in cases like yours, but please do you own research & talk to your doctor, as my comments and suggestions are not intended to replace medical advice. Best wishes.
675347 tn?1365460645 Please does anyone know the dosage of Glucosamine Sulphate for dogs? How many milligrams per pound body weight? Also, is it ok to give my dog the regular Glucosamine (which people take) as it is so much cheaper to buy that at the supermarket, than to get it from the vet, or to buy dog treats which contain it! Thanks for any help or suggestions, anyone. Ginger.
Avatar n tn My 'nephew' is a nearly 12 year young Lab. Eats and drinks well. Weight is maintained at good level i.e., has never been overweight. All recent vet checks resulted in 'normal' results. Still has great personality and willingness to please. At nearly 12, we are more inclined to assist him ! Difficulty climbing stairs and entry into vehicles. Mobility issues are localized in rear quarters and on occasion, front right leg.
Avatar f tn Three months ago, I read that nerves need vitamin B so I started taking the liquid 5000 mcg of Ultra B-12 a day and the neuropathy has gone away. If I forget to take the B for a day, I know it by night as mild burning returns. Do you believe that it can be the vitamin B that has taken the neuropathy away? Avatar n tn I just bought Osteo Bi-Flex with 5-Loxin advanced (Glucosamine, Chrondroitin, MSM, AKBA complex) at Walmart for my dogs. One dog weighs about 120lbs, and the other weighs about 65lbs. I need direction in knowing how many caplets to give to each of them daily. Very grateful.
2025701 tn?1328919633 That is unfortunate. If you don't think you are getting adequate care I would suggest switching hepatologists. If your liver disease gets worse you will need to rely more and more on your hepatologist. If you don't feel they are giving you the answers you need . Then should your cirrhosis continue to progress it will be more of a nightmare than it already is. I have had to have my hepatologist explain to me options that were a matter of life and death more than once.
1448748 tn?1312956208 My vitamin D level is 11.3 is that really bad...and what side effect will I have since my vitamin D is lie. What should I do?
1295500 tn?1272459927 Hi, my questions is I have a 9 year old collie, Sheppard, husky mix dog she's probably about 90 lbs now. She seems to be having a lot of problem with her back legs. Some days she seems fine and other days she can barely get up off the floor and when she does her back legs shake. Right now what's happening is she is holding one of her legs up and walking on three legs.
Avatar n tn My level was also 20. My doctor told me to get over-the-counter D3 and take 4-5000 IE per day in three months. I will then have another D Hydroxy test. The prescription vitamin D is mostly D2 and inferior to the OTC. My symptoms are severe fatige, achiness and insomnia.
