Avatar f tn I been to a orthpedic surgeon wiyh my shoulder, he told me that he never saw a shoulder like mine. It hurts all the time. I have a pinched nerve and tendonitis, and a torn ligament or muscle. I'm hurting more now. I'm in physical therapy. Its hurting under my arm on the side as well as to the top and the back, its werid. Just wondering what I could do to help with the pain.
798555 tn?1292787551 I've had reoccurring tendonitis for years, witch I believe was brought on from Hashimotos thyroid disease. When my thyroid labs are at the levels that work best for me, tendonitis is minimal. It could be possible (likely) that I have scare tissue on various tendon areas (muscles too) from being hypothyroid for years, so I am continuously learning to improve this tightness condition.
Avatar n tn I have heard many different things about glucosamine for dogs . That is is okay for your dogs, and also that it isn't. There can be many benefits to providing supplements for your dog. It can help them remain healthy and with that even happier. No one likes to deal with a grumpy dog. Can you tell me where I could find more information about glucosamine for dogs though?
Avatar f tn I have a friend who was looking at having a serious surgical procedure on his ankle for arthritis. He decided to try glucosamine chondroiton first. He said it took 3 months for it to help but he was able to avoid surgery and has remained essentially pain free. I looked into it for myself but my surgeon said my hands were too far gone for it to work, but he did say that some people get fantastic results from it. It may be something you want to ask your doctor about.
Avatar m tn I find taking chondroitin + glucosamine tablets twice a day, provide invaluable relief for my osteoarthritic knuckles (for a year I'd been using anti-inflammatory salve twice a day but was on the lookout for something else as I don't like the concept of long term anti-inflammatory use). I found a research study that seemed extremely promising and was pleasantly surprised to find I enjoyed appreciable pain relief after merely 2-3 days of starting the pills.
694961 tn?1228732588 vitamin c in large doses (buffered kind), msm, hyaluronic acid, and the combo of magnesium and B-1 (thiamin) can help relax muscles in the back, a little known but often effective avenue to try. i had one major success with that in someone with DDD. green-lipped mussel and all that shark cartilage is often the raw materials for glucosamine and is nothing special in my own opinion, but if it works use it.
Avatar f tn I am looking for natural arthritis remedies for a 10 year old chihuahua. I read somewhere that blackstrap molasses works wonders for arthritis pain in dogs. I also heard of extra virgin coconut oil and apple cider vinegar. I am really tempted to mix all these and give it a try. Has anyone tried these? or are there any other natural remedies? My dog has been on metacam but it doesn't work very well, I can tell she is still in pain.
787406 tn?1339203183 I have had tendonitis in both shoulders for 6 years and have suffered greatly. I have had to have cortisone shots in both shoulders just to get the pain down to a manageable level. Last year my doctor happened to run a Vitamin D test on me a I was at an 8-not normal. He iniatially put me on a 50,000 IU dose and then tapered me to a 1000 IU a day. Within the first 2 weeks the pain and tendonitis was gone from my shoulders as documented by my orthopeadic doctor.
161647 tn?1280608163 The only thing I can think of was that my mom started taking Glucosamine last year. Can the Glucosamine affect eye vision. Or does anyone have any suggestions. My mom is worried that there is something seriously wrong because the doctor said the next step is too see a retina specialist. Thanks for any advise.
Avatar m tn 5 pound schnauzer and has been limping a bit after exercise. I have started giving her 500 mg of glucosamine a day and wanted to know if this is the right dosage?
1093971 tn?1257833640 Not all glucosamine products are created equal. In order to best evaluate a product, you need to consider several things. When your healthcare and joint discomfort is at stake, take a moment and consider these criteria: What form is the glucosamine in? What is the total daily dose? Are there any other ingredients? What type is the glucosamine? How pure are the ingredients? If you’re considering taking glucosamine with chondroitin you have another ballgame.
Avatar f tn but for some reason my contact lenses have become very dry is that a side effect of the glucosamine??. I have used this type of soft contacts for a long time but never experienced this problem. Thanks.
Avatar f tn He may not have the enzymes to utilize the Glucosamine like he did before the gastric tube. Glucosamine Hcl is cheaper and it is harder for the body to utilize than the higher quality Glucosamine sulfate. With that being said, Glucosamine sulfate is commonly use in people who have GI problems because it helps to protect the mucus membranes and heal injuried tissue. It is a very important supplement in IBS, Chrones disease, ulcers etc., I feel really bad for you and your dad.

675347 tn?1365460645 Please does anyone know the dosage of Glucosamine Sulphate for dogs? How many milligrams per pound body weight? Also, is it ok to give my dog the regular Glucosamine (which people take) as it is so much cheaper to buy that at the supermarket, than to get it from the vet, or to buy dog treats which contain it! Thanks for any help or suggestions, anyone. Ginger.

1007423 tn?1251204456 From my shoulder down to my elbow and on to my wrist. Movement hurts and I gasp if I move my arm the wrong way or use it for much. I also get a sharp pain in my arm between my shoulder and my elbow. My husband thinks its tendonitis...but with all my other things, I don't know, does this sound familiar to anyone?
Avatar n tn I have knee problems also. I have arthritis, and something called ITB tendonitis. It could be what you have, it's from overuse also. For the pain, the ice is a good idea, gentle stretching of your legs and calves, resting. Try taking Tylenol with the Naproxin or Advil. Also you can try to Glucosamine/Chondrointin pills for joint pain.
