ive been giving my dog which is 17kg 1000mg of glucosamine every day for a week which i will now reduce to 500mg a day is there any thing else i should give him with this or is glucosamine alone ok my dog has early signs of arthritis in his back legs its a bit of an effort for him to get up now he is 10 yrs 3mths old and had cruciate ligament surgery back in may last yr and in the other leg about 5 to 6 yrs ago
I been to a orthpedic surgeon wiyh my shoulder, he told me that he never saw a shoulder like mine. It hurts all the time. I have a pinched nerve and tendonitis, and a torn ligament or muscle. I'm hurting more now. I'm in physical therapy. Its hurting under my arm on the side as well as to the top and the back, its werid. Just wondering what I could do to help with the pain.
A couple years ago i fell awkwardly on my shoulder only to find out that I had torn my rotator cuff which caused tendinitis. It was fine for a while with some pain now and then. But as i started playing soccer and/or running in the cold my shoulder swells up and I have a very very sharp pain. It even hurts to breath. I love playing in the cold, but the pain is sometimes to much to bear.
I find taking chondroitin + glucosamine tablets twice a day, provide invaluable relief for my osteoarthritic knuckles (for a year I'd been using anti-inflammatory salve twice a day but was on the lookout for something else as I don't like the concept of long term anti-inflammatory use).
I found a research study that seemed extremely promising and was pleasantly surprised to find I enjoyed appreciable pain relief after merely 2-3 days of starting the pills.
Now 10 years later, I have it in both shoulders, and pain when I walk, in my left arch and right ankle. Once my ring finger knuckle hurt for a year. The doc said the X-Ray showed no knuckle between the finger bones. Is this a case of disappearing joints? I've tried glucosamine chondroitin and shark cartilage but I can't see any noticeable improvements. Is there any way to resolve (aside from pain killers and drugs that have unknown or risky side affects)?
I am looking for natural arthritis remedies for a 10 year old chihuahua. I read somewhere that blackstrap molasses works wonders for arthritis pain in dogs. I also heard of extra virgin coconut oil and apple cider vinegar. I am really tempted to mix all these and give it a try. Has anyone tried these? or are there any other natural remedies? My dog has been on metacam but it doesn't work very well, I can tell she is still in pain.

Hi I had frozen surgery a year ago and went thou p/t for 4 mons and had a pulling min at home to pull my arm up and down for 3 weeks and many shots for pain and now I still can't get my arm behind my back or throw a ball or touch my right side with ourt servere pain and when I rotate my arm It pops and then servre pain I have tried shots and steaching nothing is helping had mri and it showed nothing this pain is horrible and now I can't put no pressure on my left arm or shoulder.

I have always fed them a really good food with the added glucosamine. I just recently changed foods to one without glucosamine. My lab started limping really bad. I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something.

Yep I'm thinking that, I know they keep in contact for my BiPolar, which is fine, but I was upset at hearing that. I have confirmed CT scans and xrays proving the arthritis, so I'm not crying wolf. If really makes my depression worse. I'm going to push for a pain management clinic. I told my shrink if it's indeed in my head give me something that will fix it! I feel much older then I should. Yeah I was pretty mad at my shrink about that comment.
