I am 18 years old turing 19. Its been 3 years and my period doesnt come without pills. I took birth-control pills so that I can have a normal period but then my Doctor prescribed me to take Glucophage 500 mg twice a day after food but it has side effects like dizziness, nausea, low blood pressure and diarrehea... I went to pharmacies and asked about the medicine ( Glocophage), they say its good but it is not making me feel good.

In addition to my observation, i sometimes feel sick and nauseous. I feel hungry most of the time that i will feel as if i've not eaten in days. Is it normal to have all these symptoms while using the drugs(glucophage)?. Pls i earnestly await ur reply. Thank you.

I started by monitering my diet and still I needed medication, so my doctor prescribed me with Glucophage XR 500mg, 2 pills a day taken at same time.

HI, There is no specific vitamin as a treatment for PCOS. However if you are trying for a natural pregnancy then folic acid can be taken. Weight loss gives dramatic results in women who are obese. Consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation. Hope this helps.

yes bev i have been on effexor xr since 2001 and i gained a tremendous amount of weight and then my thyroid bit the dust so now i'm on meds for that. i'm hoping that will help me lose weight. it's really hard. but this profuse sweating is just awful. i'm in texas and it's already been 100 many days. i am just wondering if there is something herbal or ANYTHING that would decrease the sweating. i drink tons of water a day.

I am less likely to have a hypoglycemic episode and it even has the benefits of helping with my polycystic ovarian syndrome. A little weight loss is common with the drug also, which won't hurt me either. It can also help lower your LDL cholesterol and lower your triglycerides. A year ago, my doctor gave me Lescol/Fluvastatin to take because I am a high risk for heart disease due to genetics and diabetes. At that time my Lipids were within normal range. After a month, ALT/AST results were very elevated. and medication was discontinued. Since then, I've gone through ultrasound, HiDa Scan and finally diagnose of fatty liver. The Gastroenterologist recommended Liver Biopsy to check for liver damage.

I think the refill might be another brand, because the number changed to (571-but it is in a script bottle...company name not shown). It says metformin (Glucophage EQ) XR on the bottle, but the other said the same thing. The pills are different shape & size, but they put a sticky on the bt. that says it is the same, but I'm calling tomorrow to ask if it is the same brand. Yuck...no-no....DOUBLE YUCK! ;o) A friend of mines takes them for diabetes & hers are round (#397).

Losing weight is challenging but with weight loss your periods have a good shot at coming back to normal. Also, there are fertility pills and a diabetes medicine called glucophage which often help to start more regular ovulation. Good luck!
