413852 tn?1317308712 I think the refill might be another brand, because the number changed to (571-but it is in a script bottle...company name not shown). It says metformin (Glucophage EQ) XR on the bottle, but the other said the same thing. The pills are different shape & size, but they put a sticky on the bt. that says it is the same, but I'm calling tomorrow to ask if it is the same brand. Yuck...no-no....DOUBLE YUCK! ;o) A friend of mines takes them for diabetes & hers are round (#397).
Avatar n tn My doc say that I have PCOS, irregular periods ( from childhood), metabolic syndrome and other symptoms. It's seems to be hereditary. She prescribed Glucophage, and I took 2 tab each 500 for a year. Did not cure me, infact I felt worst. I also have high cholesterol, but don't eat meat and jog 3 miles almost 5 times a week. I am prediabetic and very likely to get heart disease stroke and other fatal complications as I grow older. Please advise me how to cure PCOS.

Avatar m tn Also my wife who was examined by her ob/gyne doctor was diagnosed for cervicitis and was prescribed ciprobay xr 500 mg for 3 days plus clindamycin. Now my questions would be; 1. What probably caused my prostatitis? 2. Was it because of my contact with another partner? 3. Would the prescribed co-trimoxazole for a month be enough to cure me? and lastly 3. Why were the medications which include azithromycin 1g OD, doxy 100 mg. for 5-7 days and levofloxacin 500 mg for 10 days failed to cure us?

Avatar n tn My care is currently through my Family Doctor. My last two HA1C tests were 7.2 and 7.4, and creatinine was 1.1. I am taking Metformin XR, 1 gm twice a day, total of 2 grams (four 500 mg tablets). I take 1 gram in the morning and 1 at night. My blood sugars tend to run high in the morning and decrease during the day. I have no specific instructions whether to take at meals, with water, etc. Would it likely make any difference to take 1.5 grams at night and 0.
Avatar n tn scolded me for stopping the med, and insists that I continue to give him Glucophage. The Dr. says that the Glucophage will serve as an appetite suppresant as well as help control the blood sugars. Avatar m tn She either has to manage this better or take the Metformin [Glucophage] to help lower her levels. I take 500 mg [1 tablet] of Metformin w/food once daily with zero side effects.
