GLUCOPHAGE has not been studied in children younger than 10 years old. GLUCOPHAGE has not been studied in combination with other oral glucose-control medicines or insulin in children. Avatar f tn I need to find a PCOS specialist. I have always missed like one or two months of my period. I started taking Glucophage and Byetta. My cycle started to come down on a monthly basis. I got off of both these medications maybe 8 months ago and now I am back to the missed months again. I am also taking Maxide for my high blood pressure and I take it every single day, faithfully. In Januray my cycle was fine (usually lasts 4 days) and then in February, I started seeing lighter menstruation.
159063 tn?1247272817 Metformin is used to help assist with controlling glucose levels as long as one is following the guidelines of diabetes control. Glucophage is the proper name for Metformin. The RX stands for extended release. In other words, its like time release where the medicine remains longer in the body. Lifestyle change is needed, not change of medicine. Good luck.

1039061 tn?1257878294 s what brings me here. The endocrinologist told her that he would like to start her on Glucophage to try to shrink the nodule. He felt that surgically removing the nodule at this point would be aggressive, especially since they are benign. Does anyone have an ideas on this, or experience? Is this a viable solution? I know that Glucophage is used for diabetics, but are there other uses, such as this? Any help would be appreciated!!!
