Avatar f tn I have hypothryoid disease ( all new to me ) and my doctor has perscribed glucophage to me to helped with irreglar menstral cycles.
Avatar m tn You can switch this around but avoid taking vitamins with synthroid (calcium and iron can interfer with thyroxine absorption) and metformin (can inhibit the absorption of vitamin B12).
Avatar f tn I take the synthyroid (complete thyroidectomy Dec 2008) and coumadin (DVT) at the same time and then 1 1/2 hrs later, I take topamax (migraine) and protonix (GERD). Is this enough time between each?
Avatar m tn Something that blocks absorption is not the same as something that interacts with Synthroid... Ingredients that block absorption just need to be taken several hours away from the Synthroid, whereas ingredients that interact may need to be avoided completely.
Avatar m tn I also ran an interaction checker on all three, Tramadol, Hydroxyzine and Synthroid, Synthroid produce no interaction with the other two, al though I di get a "Moderate" Interaction on Tramadol and Hydroxyzine as below: MONITOR: Central nervous system- and/or respiratory-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients.
Avatar f tn I checked for drug interaction between Synthroid (levothyroxine) and nortriptyline, but there is only minor interaction reported. However, a potentially life threatening condition called serotonin syndrome may occurred with nortriptyline, either taken alone or with MAOIs (or monoamine oxidase inhibitors) and/or other serotonergic drugs, such as triptans, tricyclic antidepressants, tramadol, and etc.
Avatar f tn I have to have a hysterectomy in Feb. due to female issues. Will there be any issues for me taking Synthroid 200mcg & having to be placed on HRT ? My last ovary will have to come out. Any interaction between the two. My gyno says should not be any issues with the thyroid medication once she puts me on HRT.

I went to pharmacies and asked about the medicine ( Glocophage), they say its good but it is not making me feel good. The last pharmacy I went to suggested that I should take Glucophage XR. Avatar n tn why do my glucophage tablets give off a first smell and taste impression of being mouldy?
Avatar n tn I have been managed with testosterone pellets implanted every four months since age 58. I recently had my thyroid removed and am balancing the Synthroid doses to TSH. The surgery was at a low for pellets. Are there really any issues with t4 binding proteins, regulation of thyroid function, and testosterone pellets? Some sites posit a possible interaction others say no.
182352 tn?1231183410 my OBGYN just prescribed prometrium for low progestrone, and metformin ( the generic form of glucophage), due to my body not processing sugar properly. the prometrium bottle says DO NOT TAKE WHILE PREGNANT. i have read up on this & it seems to be a very common & helpful drug to take during early pregnancy. has anyone taken both, or either 1 alone while pregnant? my 1st pregnancy was a breeze & i hate taking anything during pregnancy. thanks so much.
Avatar n tn Can GLUCOPHAGE or GLUCOPHAGE XR be used in children? GLUCOPHAGE has been shown to effectively lower glucose levels in children (ages 10 to 16 years) with type 2 diabetes. GLUCOPHAGE has not been studied in children younger than 10 years old. GLUCOPHAGE has not been studied in combination with other oral glucose-control medicines or insulin in children. If you have any questions about the use of GLUCOPHAGE in children, talk with your doctor or other healthcare provider.
Avatar n tn Hello~ 33 yr old female w/ PCOS & was diagnosed w/type 2 6 yrs ago. I was not happy & revised my eating habits along w/ taking 500 mg of glucophage 2x daily. I started reverting back to my old eating habits(did manage to stay away from any sugar, my problem was carbs & fast food).
Avatar n tn T NEED MORE INSULIN AND TO PREVENT ME FROM GAINING WEIGHT. I THOUGHT THAT GLUCOPHAGE WORKS ON YOUR LIVER AND PREVENTS IT FROM RELEASING GLYCOGEN-WOULDN'T THAT BE DANGEROUS FOR ME IF I NEEDED THE GLYCOGEN DURING A POTENTIALLY BAD EPSIODE OF HYPOGLYCEMIA? I HAVE ALSO BEEN TAKING AN ACE INHIBITOR FOR ABOUT 7 YEARS (WITHOUT PROBLEMS) TO PREVENT RENAL HYPERTENSION (I HAVE HAD TYPE 1 FOR 23 YEARS) AND THE DR. TOLD ME I DIDN'T NEED IT AND TO DISCONTINUE ANY ACE INHIBITORS.
Avatar n tn how long should i wait between doses when taking liquid zoloft and synthroid
194838 tn?1303428544 Hi, I am taking Glucophage (slow release Metformin) and have just been prescribed Januvia to take also. I have had stomach pains and upset stomach since being on them, the plus side is that I have lost weight so am very happy about that but wondered if anyone else has experienced the stomach pain and if so how long did it take for it to subside. If anyone has any advice etc I would be so grateful.
Avatar n tn Here's my problem: I have Hashimoto's disease and was on synthroid. But was constantly tired, fatigued, not able to lose weight, etc. I switched doctors and they said that because levels are low, I'm producing too much TSH so they suggested I go off of synthroid. Way too much TSH could be causing my tiredness and symptoms. Also at the same time, they discovered that my insulin is on the high side of normal.
179856 tn?1333547362 Hey NY, I've been on Synthroid for years and I was always told to make sure to take it at least 1/2 hour prior to or several hours after eating.
Avatar f tn I did a one minute drug interaction check for you and the check resulted in seven moderate interactions between your meds. Let me know if you need any details. Caregiver's suggestion to see an ND would be the way to go, if your financial situation allows for this. Please note that the above advice is not intended as a substitute for medical advice.
Avatar f tn Hi Gee, Quitting smoking definitely has a big impact on energy levels and such but I did that close to 5 months ago. I mentioned quitting smoking only because I'd wondered if there was a potentially bad interaction between Champix and Synthroid. I don't know that I've developed any new hypo symptoms....
Avatar f tn I've recently been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and anemia. My TSH was 7.0 and ferritin was 28. My physician had prescribed me synthroid and Nu-iron. I've been taking it for about 5 weeks now and for the last few days, I've been breaking out in severe hives. I've been trying to monitor my intake but everything but I really believe it is either the synthroid or Iron med.
