Avatar m tn It showed narrowing and straightening of my septum and a EF of 42. I then had a Echo and it showed mld global Hypokinesis and a TR abnormality. They requested that if I have CP or SOB/swelling I report ASAP to ED. I am a little worried about this diagnosis and wanted to know where I stand as far as a professional opinion of the results presented? I appreciate your assistance and I am in fll knowledge your opinion is just that and won't be taken as medical advice.
Avatar n tn I have severe global hyperkinesis with 20% ejection fraction. I am only 53 years and otherwise in good health. Since the mortality rate is so high for someone with my diagnosis, why does my cardiologist say that I am not a candidate for a heart transplant?
Avatar n tn Has anyone every been to rehab for drug addiction? If so...I would like to chat with you about my nephew who had to be taken to rehab after an overdose of Xanax.

Avatar m tn I finally faced up to my problems and admitted that I had an addiction to painkillers. I looked into several rehab alternatives and the one that made sense to me the most was Methadone. I'm not looking for anyone to tell me how dangerous Methadone can be, I know and I still felt it was the best rehab for me. I have been in the program for a full week now and overall I feel great. I started at 30mgs a day and they have moved me up to 40mgs and that seems to be working great.
Avatar m tn My 46-year old son (end-stage liver) was discharged from a local hospital (transfusions and paracenteses) and transferred to a rehabilitation clinic. This place appears to be a hospice in disguise with no patient advocacy and little or no effort to do regular blood work, taps, etc. I had to haul him out of there last week to Mayo (Phoenix) ER to get cipro and an albumin IV, as well as a referral upstairs to Hepatology. He returned to rehab for his bed and three squares.

Avatar f tn While I was in rehab they knocked me out for three days on valium and brought me back slowly. They gave me tramadodal and soma for cramps and also an anti diarrhea medicine and weaned me off of all of it. They also gave me Trazodone for anxiety and to sleep. My last dose of every drug they weaned me off of on my 8th day and I felt great!! The Rehab Dr. told me I could get a script for the Trazodone but when I went to my doctor yesterday he said "Oh No, No!! That is another addictive drug.
Avatar n tn I posted last night asking if anyone could share their good and bad rehab experiences...why was that deleted? I got an email that there were 3 respnses- If anyone responded please repost! Unless there is some reason we can't share rehab experiences??
Avatar m tn After a significant MI and being treated in your case with a stent (Drug Eluting Stent) it maybe take a long period to recover and gain strength. The event itself weakens the heart, and has a global impact throughout your body. The medications can make you feel tired. LAD blockage is nothing to laugh off. I had a stent placed when mine was blocked at 75%. The heart attack and weakness go hand in hand. 35% EF after a major heart attack is not the worst news.
Avatar f tn I’ve just received the results from my echo and it says I have Global Hypokinesia with mild to moderate LV dysfunction and an ejection fraction of 43%. I had an echo last year which was fine. I’m currently taking beta blockers as they were treating me for a paroxysmal arrhythmia which was found after several GP visits because I was having chest pains. My cardiologist now wants to start me on an ACE inhibitor alongside my beta blocker.
Avatar f tn Our family visited our son in rehab on thanksgiving. He does not want to continue any therapy after he is out. He is very anxious. That was his 16 day in clinic. Only two weeks left. I understand that HE is the only one who has to make decision about his future. But how possibly I can let it go? I can handle everything, can do everything possible and impossible just to see my son happy and healthy again. Does. 6 month of using Percocet can damage his brain completely? Please help!

208686 tn?1293030503 I believe we do have some global warming however I dont think it is as bad as the Media say it is, I think the history of mankind shows we have had this kind of warming before and I take it more that it is a natural process at this time, I think we need to clean up our act and make our Air a lot better for us to breathe and be healthier.

Avatar f tn Calculated left ventricular ejection fraction is 35%. There is severe global hypokinesis. Trace mitral regurgitation. Trace tricuspid regurgitation. Technically challenging study due to irregular heart rhythms/frequent ventricular ectopy. I have also had a cardic catheterization which showed no blockages. Can you please explain the MRI findings in layman terms. Also, is this reversable.

Avatar f tn //www.harthosp.org/portals/1/images/6/pr-fibroscan.pdf offering the test. I also saw a mention of the Mayo Clinic having the test. I found this Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) is the first serologic marker, appearing in the serum 6 to 16 weeks following HBV infection. In acute cases, HBsAg usually disappears 1 to 2 months after the onset of symptoms with the appearance of hepatitis B surface antibody (anti-HBs).
