Avatar m tn the drug glimepiride, is not making my blood sugar level lower; instead is higher 250! I am taking 2mg twice a day. My doctor says all is OK.
1068689 tn?1325827206 My new doctor changed my prescriptions from regular Met to Met XR and added 2mg of Glimepiride. My BG's have been above 300 for last few months and nothing seems to get them down. Doc thinks this change should do it. I've only taken it twice now but since taking it I've been dizzy. Quite enough I need to lay down. I know it says this may be a side affect but does it go away? It brought my BG's down as I said from over 300 3 hrs after eating to 180 just now.
1352638 tn?1277025232 1/4 of a 2mg tab is not really that much. 1/2 of a 5mg tab does little or nothing to me. It certainly doesn't make me feel tired at all. It is a low dose. Nothing to worry about as I there are people on much much higher doses. If your anxiety is that bad have a word with your doctor and maybe he will put you on something better. I just see it as too low a dose for high anxiety levels. I'm no doctor though. We all react in different ways to different doses. It may be enough for you.

Avatar f tn He takes 2 tablets Glycomet Trio 1 (Metformin HCL Sustained Release, Glimepiride & Voglibose Tablets) - 1 before taking lunch and before taking dinner.
Avatar n tn How did your doctor instruct you to do it? My mantra has always been 'the slower the better,' but it looks like you have been you have been doing slowly, which definitely minimizes withdrawal effects in my opinion. How long have you been coming off of it?

Avatar n tn After this happened a couple of times I quit taking the Metformin. About a year later I was then diagnosed with T2 and am now on Glimepiride and have since began having these episodes again. They begin in the jaw area primarily the glands just below my jaws, with a sting/tingling that intensifies and radiates out all around my ears, neck throat and surface of my chest, and my upper torso goes ice cold. This takes place any where from a 30 second to a 3 minute cycle.
950277 tn?1247274551 You're at 2mg a day. You need to get your doctor to prescribe you the 2mg pills. They're just a smaller version of the ones you're taking. From there, you can take a pill cutter and cut it in half, and then cut the half into halves. Just like you have with the 8mg pill. Each quarter will be .5mg. From 2mg, cut down to 1.5mg a day. When you're stable at that dose go down some more. this should help you taper lower.
Icecream The main concern I would have about the addition to Lantus 20 units daily would be the risk of low blood sugar, especially in combination with glimepiride. Both Lantus and glimepiride can cause low blood sugar or hypoglycemia. Just make sure you're watching for the signs of low blood sugar, which are, sudden headache, feeling shaky, and weakness. There are many more signs of hypoglycemia and I encourage you to research it more yourself.
Avatar f tn started 1 1/2 tab of suboxone every morning on 2/2/7/10 for addictoin to norco 7.5 mg. i have also been taking xanax 1.0mg 3 times aday for for al most 3 yrs.doc switched me cold turkey to kolonipin 2mg 2 times aday.every time i take it i fall asleep. i've even decreased my dosage to 1 mg at a time.i can't function on something that makes me sleep all day, but i have severe anxiety. what should i do?
610505 tn?1329603723 1/4 or 1/8 is still 2mg or 1mg. how long have you been at that dose and what was the highest? for the rls take magnesium tabs. also eat bananas. suboxones withdrawal can be delayed up to 72 hrs. because of the half life. put suboxone in the search on the top right side of the page and read how others fared with their detox.some seem to get off without to many smyptoms once they taper down really low and others still have alot of withdrawal symptoms. keep the faith. you will beat this.
Avatar m tn Please do not put off calling your doc today. I looked up Amaryl (glimepiride) and it is used by type 2 diabetics to lower glucose levels. There's a discussion going on in this forum about type 2, after long periods of time (how long is unk), reversing into type 1 diabetics. In your case it seems you are combating low glucose levels and may have a flipped 180ยบ. Let us know what your docs says. You will help a lot of readers by posting your history if you did turn into a type 1.

Avatar m tn I wanted to know whether I can merge my morning and afternoon doses of Xanax with my night dose as I am then required by my Pdoc to taper Xanax by 0.125 mg a week(1/2 a 0.25 mg tab).I have reduced my morning and afternoon doses to 0.125 mg each without much side effects but I still feel sleepy with 0.125 mg so would want to move both doses to the night. Is it recommended. All suggestions are welcome.
