1068689 tn?1325827206 My new doctor changed my prescriptions from regular Met to Met XR and added 2mg of Glimepiride. My BG's have been above 300 for last few months and nothing seems to get them down. Doc thinks this change should do it. I've only taken it twice now but since taking it I've been dizzy. Quite enough I need to lay down. I know it says this may be a side affect but does it go away? It brought my BG's down as I said from over 300 3 hrs after eating to 180 just now.
Avatar m tn the drug glimepiride, is not making my blood sugar level lower; instead is higher 250! I am taking 2mg twice a day. My doctor says all is OK.
Avatar f tn He takes 2 tablets Glycomet Trio 1 (Metformin HCL Sustained Release, Glimepiride & Voglibose Tablets) - 1 before taking lunch and before taking dinner.
Avatar n tn After this happened a couple of times I quit taking the Metformin. About a year later I was then diagnosed with T2 and am now on Glimepiride and have since began having these episodes again. They begin in the jaw area primarily the glands just below my jaws, with a sting/tingling that intensifies and radiates out all around my ears, neck throat and surface of my chest, and my upper torso goes ice cold. This takes place any where from a 30 second to a 3 minute cycle.
Icecream The main concern I would have about the addition to Lantus 20 units daily would be the risk of low blood sugar, especially in combination with glimepiride. Both Lantus and glimepiride can cause low blood sugar or hypoglycemia. Just make sure you're watching for the signs of low blood sugar, which are, sudden headache, feeling shaky, and weakness. There are many more signs of hypoglycemia and I encourage you to research it more yourself.
Avatar m tn Please do not put off calling your doc today. I looked up Amaryl (glimepiride) and it is used by type 2 diabetics to lower glucose levels. There's a discussion going on in this forum about type 2, after long periods of time (how long is unk), reversing into type 1 diabetics. In your case it seems you are combating low glucose levels and may have a flipped 180ยบ. Let us know what your docs says. You will help a lot of readers by posting your history if you did turn into a type 1.
Avatar m tn Tenofovir alafenamide (TAF), a new formulation that reaches higher levels in cells but allows for lower dosing, was as effective as the current tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) formulation but had less impact on markers of kidney function and bone turnover, researchers reported at the 53rd Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC 2013) this week in Denver.
Avatar f tn According to Pharmaceutical Formulation Databases and Resources, lubricants in medication tablets help keep the medication powder from sticking to the equipment used to make the tablet. Dextrose and microcrystalline cellulose are inactive ingredients used in Armour Thyroid tablets. According to Pharmaceutical Formulation Databases and Resources, these act as fillers and compression aids to improve the overall characteristics of the tablet powder.
Avatar n tn The answer is no, however the differences are probably not clinically significant. Valium is a brand name. Not a generic name. The generic name is diazapam. The FDA will usually provide a history of changes, although some may be proprietary. You ask an interesting question. Many "common" drugs have actually changed in formulation several times. Synthroid, for example, has changed it's formulation several times since introduction.
Avatar n tn How are you doing with monitoring your diet? Do you get regular exercise and drink plenty of water? Sometimes the medications that are helpful and keep things under control for a while, stop working or just need adjusted.

606423 tn?1271824088 Are you happy with the new Armour formulation? I guess they changed their formulation or something along thos lines and thats why there is a shortage. A lot of us have switched to other natural brands such as Westhroid and Naturethroid.
1273125 tn?1365077526 Hey Scrappy - has your doctor suggested adding GLIMEPIRIDE to your Metformin? I am type 2, have been for 10 years - also only have 1/2 a Pancreas, as I had to have the other half removed due to a tumor in the head of my Pancreas - 8 hour surgery, and 8 days in the hospital, which is where the Insulin shots started. Initially, I came home from the hospital on both types of Insulin.

Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, your history is suggestive of that you may be having drug allergy to vitamin formulation. You may be hypersensitive to any component of the formulation. From your history it is suggests that you are intolerant to formulations of vitamin esp. if lactose or lactose like base is used. You need to discontinue the vitamins and go for other brands having different components. See whether you are comfortable with the new drug.
Avatar f tn ve been eating something pervasive, using the old-fashioned Listerine (the stinky kind) and then rinsing it off with water. Something about the formulation (made for use in the mouth, of course) seems to cut that sort of oily sweat that comes from highly aromatic food. You might try it on your underarms. Just rinse it off afterward of your armpits will smell like Listerine, menthol and eucalyptus.
Avatar m tn If you have used a gel based formulation in the past, try a cream based formulation. Continue using a lot of moisturizer. Please see a Dermatologist for a prescription as potent steroids are not available over the counter. Hope that this information helps and hope that you will get better soon. Best Regards Dr.

Avatar n tn I have heard a lot of people complain about the new formulation of Oxycontin .It is called OP I think .Purdue made this new formulation to stop people from abusing it but I have heard a lot of CP patients complain that it doesn't work as good as the old formulation .There is a substance that turns to a gel to keep people from snorting it or shooting it up and that may be what is causing it to not dissolve correctly .That's my best guess about it though .I would talk to my Dr about this .
Avatar f tn t necessarily work for you, that something as simple as switching to the LIQUID formulation of the exact same product is the perfect solution and works like a charm....and helps whereas the other formulation maybe didn't....that's why i was asking FLADDICT about that liquid formulation from GNC....i guess i (and sarah) could always call GNC and ask them, too....they should know their products....
