1068689 tn?1325827206 My new doctor changed my prescriptions from regular Met to Met XR and added 2mg of Glimepiride. My BG's have been above 300 for last few months and nothing seems to get them down. Doc thinks this change should do it. I've only taken it twice now but since taking it I've been dizzy. Quite enough I need to lay down. I know it says this may be a side affect but does it go away? It brought my BG's down as I said from over 300 3 hrs after eating to 180 just now.
Avatar m tn the drug glimepiride, is not making my blood sugar level lower; instead is higher 250! I am taking 2mg twice a day. My doctor says all is OK.
Avatar f tn He takes 2 tablets Glycomet Trio 1 (Metformin HCL Sustained Release, Glimepiride & Voglibose Tablets) - 1 before taking lunch and before taking dinner.
422891 tn?1315179920 I don't know the names - sorry. But I do know that you can get nail clippers for pets that are called "pliers" or "guillotine". We use pliers on our dogs. The names sound worse than the product. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Avatar n tn Medtronic and guidant in particular are very popular. Do some google research, there are some published articles on models names and recalls. And types, look into that too, as there are single lead, 2 lead, etc. Pacers only activate at too low of a rate, they do nothing over a certain heart rate (usually around 40).
Avatar f tn But generally, some believe that quality control is much better with brand names than with generics, and others experience better results with brand names. I'd try the generic and see if it works for you -- insurance companies are really punishing you now if you use brand names so it makes sense to give the generic a try.
Avatar n tn After this happened a couple of times I quit taking the Metformin. About a year later I was then diagnosed with T2 and am now on Glimepiride and have since began having these episodes again. They begin in the jaw area primarily the glands just below my jaws, with a sting/tingling that intensifies and radiates out all around my ears, neck throat and surface of my chest, and my upper torso goes ice cold. This takes place any where from a 30 second to a 3 minute cycle.
Avatar n tn Actually, both of those are generics for the brand names Loestrin and Microgestin. Generics all have their own names but from a chemical standpoint, the active ingredients are identical to the name brand. Where Junel and Blisovi differ is just in the inactive ingredients.
874521 tn?1424116797 Check the Identifier for the brand names such as those listed below, but it seems that they have it together with the acetaminophen (Tylenol) in brand names such as oxycodone and acetaminophen GENERIC NAME: oxycodone and acetaminophen BRAND NAMES: Percocet, Roxicet, Tylox, Endocet You have to have the name of the medicine .. not just the oxy ingredient. It works for meds such as Percocet but not Percodan .. You need to use a bit of name brand inputting. I hope this is helpful.
Icecream The main concern I would have about the addition to Lantus 20 units daily would be the risk of low blood sugar, especially in combination with glimepiride. Both Lantus and glimepiride can cause low blood sugar or hypoglycemia. Just make sure you're watching for the signs of low blood sugar, which are, sudden headache, feeling shaky, and weakness. There are many more signs of hypoglycemia and I encourage you to research it more yourself.
Avatar f tn GENERIC NAME: oxycodone. BRAND NAMES: Oxycontin In case someone was unaware of the names.
10816945 tn?1427208632 Both of those are beautiful names...they would sound good/mature when she is older as well.
Avatar m tn Please do not put off calling your doc today. I looked up Amaryl (glimepiride) and it is used by type 2 diabetics to lower glucose levels. There's a discussion going on in this forum about type 2, after long periods of time (how long is unk), reversing into type 1 diabetics. In your case it seems you are combating low glucose levels and may have a flipped 180º. Let us know what your docs says. You will help a lot of readers by posting your history if you did turn into a type 1.
Avatar n tn Classification - T-4 Contraindications - Administration (FDA) has determined that generic levothyroxine and brand-name Synthroid and Levoxyl are equivalent. The FDA requires all drugs—both brand-names and their generic counterparts—to be proven safe and effective. Since generics use the same active ingredients and are shown to work the same way in the body as their brand-name counterparts, they also have the same risks and benefits.
Avatar f tn As far as I'm aware, Coumadin is just one of the brand names of warfarin. It's like if I want some Clopidogrel (another form of anti platelet med) I could ask for either Clopidogrel or Plavix, Plavix is the brand name the drug company trades the medication under.
177275 tn?1511755244 In a prime example of government bumbling they have made it difficult to get generic drugs through the approval process also while allowing pharmaceutical companies to unfairly and monopolistically raise the price of generics and brand names through the ceiling. Generic drugs that are not difficult to make and require no research that used to cost $4 at Walmart not cost $85.
Avatar f tn I would exchange them for smaller packages and get a gift card so u can buy the brand that works best after u have figured it out my daughter was allergic to all the big brand names I ended up using a hypoallergenic brand from heb!
Avatar n tn In the United States, brand names include Synthroid, Levoxyl, Levothroid, Eltroxin, Tirosint and Unithroid; Generic forms are Levothyroxine sodium USP and L-thyroxine. There is still debate over whether generic thyroid supplements are as effective as thyroid brand name supplements.
1491755 tn?1333201362 Clinical study listings may use one or more names for the same investigational drug.
