Glimepiride amaryl side effects

Common Questions and Answers about Glimepiride amaryl side effects

amaryl

Avatar m tn This is a question for your pharmacist as I could not locate "IP". Normally USP is Rx'd. Amaryl [glimepiride] tablets come in various forms and colors. The letters IG [eye gee] is imprinted on three tablets [blue, pink, green] to designate strength.
Avatar m tn Please do not put off calling your doc today. I looked up Amaryl (glimepiride) and it is used by type 2 diabetics to lower glucose levels. There's a discussion going on in this forum about type 2, after long periods of time (how long is unk), reversing into type 1 diabetics. In your case it seems you are combating low glucose levels and may have a flipped 180º. Let us know what your docs says. You will help a lot of readers by posting your history if you did turn into a type 1.
1068689 tn?1325827206 Dizzeness is very hard to cope with for side effects from medicene, but they should go away after you have taken enough of the medication in order for you're body to get used to it, but if it's this bad you should go ahead and ask your'e doctor, if you can hve a different substitution that may not make you dizzy. I hope this helps you, I know I kind of went around in a circle but i've got to the point, and if you have any more problems contact me for more support. Thank you.
Avatar n tn I believe that it is more than likely side effects from the glimepiride for the T2. I am curious whether anyone has had similar side effects.
1925135 tn?1323307656 Diabetes Solutions by DR. Richard Bernstein or at least log on Amazon.com to read the reviews on his book. This book is arguably the most important book on diabetes 2. Good luck.
783159 tn?1236291818 I am now on amaryl and get no side effects from it. But a lot of people are on metformin. Since it makes your stomach loose, you lose weight from it. And it controls the sugar level. Why don't they list it?
Avatar f tn So I want to ask what diabet drugs that don’t upset stomuch (because she hate to take insulin injection ).
Avatar f tn hi, the side of amaryl is weaight gain and the metformin causes weaight loss but in combination also you will gain some weaight.
Avatar f tn Sorry I dont know what ANY of those drugs are or what sgpt is. I could google each of them read the side effects and answer you....
Avatar n tn Keep in mind I am not a doctor. Medications all have side effects. You need to talk to your doctor and see if he could somehow cut your long list of meds down to a narrower field. also your trainer should also know that when you have what we call stomach flab, as you lose weight this skin takes longer to tighten because the weight of the fat cells causes sag initially makeing it harder to lose weight in our mid sections.
Avatar n tn The septal defect may be part of your symptom. There is a hole in the septal wall that separates the right and left side. Under pressure oxygenated blood from the left side (blood rec'd from the lungs) abnormally flows into right side (blood that goes to the lungs to be oxygenated). The consequence is a deficit of blood pumped into circulation with each heartbeat. That can be corrected with minimum intervention if and when it becomes more serious.
Avatar n tn I have been controlling my type 2 diabetes with actos, lipitor, lisinopril, amaryl, and metfirman for the last 2 years. Recently, i was laying down and when I got up I felt my neck grinding. A few days later I noticed my tonuge was numb and tingling. then I noticed my right eye and right side of my face and head was numb. I have been having reduced mucle movement on that side. I do not have insurance and am unable to see a doctor. I get my diabetic medical treatment at a clinic.
Avatar m tn the drug glimepiride, is not making my blood sugar level lower; instead is higher 250! I am taking 2mg twice a day. My doctor says all is OK.
Avatar f tn He takes 2 tablets Glycomet Trio 1 (Metformin HCL Sustained Release, Glimepiride & Voglibose Tablets) - 1 before taking lunch and before taking dinner.
Avatar m tn I am maintaining a stage 3 and was on a 3 month regiment of vitamin d and we also eliminated metformin. I take Amaryl now, instead.. My blood glucose was out of control but my PCP put me on Victoza. That seems to be helping with the exception of BS levels being very low in the morning. My PCP has suggested she might take me off the Amaryl and just have me take more insulin along with the Victoza and Januvia. At this point we're experimenting with the meds to see what works better.
Avatar f tn We have decrmy Lantus to 10eased units in the even. and 1/2 Amaryl in the a.m. and p.m. I also take Januvia 100mg, and 2000 mg Metformin a day. My A1c has been 6.6 for a few years now, but have moved and have a new Dr. who wanted me to try the Victoza. My BS are running 154 (No lower) to as high as 272. OCCASIONALLY I might have a reading as high as 272 (My B'day celebration had to many sweets) :(. but not this high On a regular basis.
Icecream The main concern I would have about the addition to Lantus 20 units daily would be the risk of low blood sugar, especially in combination with glimepiride. Both Lantus and glimepiride can cause low blood sugar or hypoglycemia. Just make sure you're watching for the signs of low blood sugar, which are, sudden headache, feeling shaky, and weakness. There are many more signs of hypoglycemia and I encourage you to research it more yourself.
1273125 tn?1365077526 I use insulin. I use Humalin-N as my basal (this is an older insulin), and Humalog as my bolus. Combined with low carb eating, insulin can be an excellent tool. And best of all, It always works. It does need to be used by an educated patient, so that you know it's effects, durations of action etc. And you need to test enough to make sure you avoid lows. Seeing you already eat low carb, I would recommend Dr. Richard Bernstein's book "Diabetes solutions".
Avatar m tn I will do that it seems the higher dose has created this and I'm not on anything else.
Avatar f tn Many AD's have side effects that affect the libido, guess it applies to both sex es. As far as I know all AD's have this drastic effect . Hopefully you'll find one that's OK for you . Good luck.

Avatar f tn Does anyone know of any side effects from using the circulation booster. I have the opportunity to buy a second hand one, but my brother believes it can't be good for your muscles to zap them so to speak, like it will confuse your muscles.
