I want to know how possible it is to become pregnant if the woman AND the man both had surgeries to prevent this. I got pregnant after my bf had a vasectomy 7 YEARS AGO!!!!!! Neither one of us were wanting more children. Now I want to take my own precautions by having my tubes tied, burned, cut---whatever it takes. If he is still producing sperm after all this time, what will that mean if both of us have had the surgeries?

Im so lucky, my boyfriend intends to get a vasectomy. Im pretty sure a vasectomy is a much simpler procedure in comparison to having tubes tied, plus you can reverse a vasectomy if im not mistaken.

What are the chances of getting pregnant when using mirena and after husband had vasectomy? My husband is the ONLY man that I am with! so I don't understand why I am my breast are getting bigger, nipples are tender, feeling sick, peeing a lot, tired and the list goes on. All the signs point to pregnancy but I don’t see how that could happen.

I actually agree with Ashelen on this one. I know quite a few people who have had their tubes tied, and half of them a much lower sex drive then they did before the tubal. And half of them had their cycle impacted. Of the men I know who have had a vasectomy, they've suffered no ill effects, and it has no bearing on the amount of testosterone produced. Also, their sex drive wasn't lowered in the slightest.

Could this just be the flu that is going around or could I possibly be pregnant? I know that it is a very minimal chance since he did have the vasectomy and it was so long ago.

I had a Vasectomy done about 3 years back ,can I somehow have some kind of procedure done and fertilize my wife with out getting fixed back like I was.

I did have one friend that got pregnant a couple years after her hubby had a vasectomy. They were both faithful and come to find out that the surgery didn't hold. Not sure why. But I don't know of anyone who got pregnant after both of the surgeries. A m/c is tough - I have had 5. Now I am 14w 5d and thrilled. This is what I wanted though. check into your surgical options - just be sure it's what you want.

I would check with your doctor. Could be menopause or you could be pregnant. I don't know how long ago your boyfriend had his vasectomy but they can reverse themselves after 7-10yrs.

I have heard on very rare occasions that you can become pregnant if your husband has had a vasectomy...As far as you becoming pregnant or thinking you may be pregnant, I would take a blood test to be certain! Good luck!

Is it possible to get pregnant 8 years after a vasectomy? I have worried about it all night because I am 2 months late with my period and assumed it was stress related, but then I heard of some women getting pregnant after their men had vasectomies, some with twins and triples! Add me to the list of someone who got pregnant post vasectomy. I want to challenge the statistics. Our urologist just said that we are that rare case. It's not 100% effective, but same thing... zero sperm count post op and post pregnancy. How does this happen? I would love to find more people like us.

Any ladies partners gotten a vasectomy (obviously after u got pregnant) or know someone whose partner did. Did their sex life stay the same or change? How hard was it on him? I see alot of women getting their tubes tied but when my hubs and I are done having babies I would prefer he get snipped but of course he's scared of any sharp objects near his junk lol.

I believe it may be different for a man to have a reversal. I heard something about a man's sperm being destroyed all together once they've had this done. I am not sure, it would be interesting to know if could be done. Anything is possible. You hear about woman getting pregnant while their tubes are tied, it couldn't hurt to find out more about it.

the situation is ....had a vasectomy 10 years ago two no sperm tests after...had a one night stand where i was in 10 seconds no ejaculation but some per-ejaculation i am sure..girl went and got a plan B test morning after just in case. Has had 2 periods since...now is pregnant...

Ok so I am engaged to a great guy he is nearly 45 and he had a vasectomy 8 years ago after his 3rd child then he got divorced, he suffers from ED off and on and we have talked about getting his vasectomy reversed so that we can have a child together. I really want to have a baby with him but I'm concerned that we are going to spend all the money for a reversal and with his age, ED and other medical issues that the odds for a successful conception after reversal are not very good.

I never went back to get checked, but have had unprotected sex for all this time with noone getting pregnant. Is it possible for your husband to get a semen analysis done? That way you would at least know if he has sperm in his semen.

However, I have always been a bit paranoid about getting pregnant mostly due to his lack of enthusiasm over giving a proper sample (3 hours in a hot jacket pocket after collecting a sample in the shower not sure I believe the validity of non mobile sperm). TMI I know.

If he had two negative specimens after the first vasectomy, and then you got pregnant, his vas deferens must have recanalized (0.2% chance of this after vasectomy). The risk is the same after the second vasectomy, 0.2% or about 1 in 500. He should have three specimens a month apart. If they are all negative, the second vasectomy was successful and the risk of failure is 0.2%.

So i feel he should get a vasectomy as well as me getting a tubal! He says its fine and has no problem with it. But is it silly to spend the money on the vasectomy? Idk im confused!!
