One of the reasons that the first year is the worst for outbreaks is because the body is still getting adjusted to the virus. Herpes on your body is not likely to infer a genital infection at all. It is unlikely for it to be HSV1 or HSV2 but instead shingles or nothing herpetic at all.
You should undertake the appropriate testing for IgG HSV antibodies and assess the situation from there.
