Hello. I'm 36 and I am almost 9 weeks pregnant. I have Graves' disease and had radiation treatment back in 2009. I hadn't been taking my thyroxine constantly for a few months as I was super stressed and now that I am pregnant haven't missed a dose. My thyroid levels are still very high and I'm worried that this will affect my baby's brain development/IQ levels. Has anyone else had similar experiences? I'm scared and worried.
I am 27 years old ... have had thyroid problems since pregnant with my daughter almost two years ago! they were watching my thyroid levels prior to that pregnancy though. They say that I have hypothyroidism (thyroid don't work) buut I also have antibodies for graves disease ... although my thyroid jumps from hypo to hyper frequantly ... my question is will I ALWAYS have the antibodies for Graves disease? Makes it possible to get graves disease and most importantly ... is it heretitery?
I've just been diagnosed with Graves' Disease. I have autoimmune thyroid disease that has changed from being primary Hashimoto's thyroiditis to Graves's Disease. Did I develop neutropenia from the Graves disease and how do I stop the neutropenia from getting worse? Also, what are some things that I should avoid as a result of my neutropenia? In addition, my heart rate ranges from 120-140 and I feel very tired and confused. Are these feelings a result of my heart rate? Thank you in advance.
i feel like my legs are going to collapse, i feel sick all the time, im just looking for a doctor that will listen to me because my symptoms are getting worse. what i understand about graves disease is that it is an autoimmune disease and that there is no cure, but the endocrinologist is taking it so lighly because my readings are fine, what am i to do??
I have been going to an Endocrinologist for almost 1 year. He has done several ultrasounds showing that I have 5 tumors on my thyroid. I have a biopsy which showed they were benign. I recently had another ultrasound which showed one of the tumors had shrunk but another one appeared.
I am a 25 y/o female diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at 16 and later with Graves Disease and Goiter. I have been on Tapazol along with Atenelol (for the Tachacardia) off and on for the past 9 years with no results. Every doc I see wants to discuss nothing but RAI or surgery. I finally found out that I was pregnant the beginning of last year and made it to 4 months and suffered a miscarriage for no apparent reason.
I just went to a new doctor. I saw 2 doctors(endos) they said continue taking these meds and test in 6 weeks. They also agreed that my tests really don't fit Graves disease anymore. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? I had my cortisol tested in August and it was normal 17 after a fast. Maybe it's piuitary related. All I know is I don't feel well at all.

s disease, then still not feeling well, and finally diagnosed with graves disease and vitamin D deficiency. Then came Graves eye disease, not severe and under control. So yes have levels checked, I had only TSH checked in Feb of last year, and it came back in normal range, when i had my physical my tsh was 0.00 so they tested T3 and T4 and they were not normal. Good luck, it is a slow process, and i get depressed about it often, it is not a disease with an easy cure, it is a long battle.
iam apatient who suffers graves disease. My question is : Although I am almost 4 months on Carbamizole treatment 60 mg + Taking inderal ( propanalol), but the levels of my T4 & T3 are still high and the levels of TSH is less than 0.01.
what do you think , should i sstop the medication and think of the other allternatives like the radioactive iodine or surgical removal?
I do have a son already who was conceived naturally so we thought that helped our chances, although on the flip side I do have Graves disease (diagnosed after my son was born) and I am now 42. We increased my Synthroid once just when we transferred the embryos, and then again when I was still feeling bad (to 150 mg), but that was right before we got a negative test result.
I read that this is a symptom of Graves disease. The pain is just getting unbearable but my doctor says it takes time and once I get stabalized it should go away. My question is how long do I have to go through this to start feeling better. Have you been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, such as Graves or Hashimoto's? For Graves Disease, you would need to get a Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulin (TSI) test; and to check for Hashimoto's, you would need to get both Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOab) and Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TGab).

Graves is an autoimmune disease and unfortunately for life. Controlling whether they raise or suppress is key to beating the symptoms of the disease.
If you are on Levo now - your labs must be abnormal and now lean towards hypoT levels. You would feel like cr@p right now with the swinging patterns you have been on.

I have had graves disease for 5-6 years now. I take one 10 mg of Methimazole at night time and that is all. I have been very stable on my medicine for years now. I have also been very lucky to not have any problems with my eyes or other symptoms of that nature. I always get concerned when thinking about pregnancy because I want to make sure it is safe for me to conceive. Also, I know that your thyroid can get worse and better during and after pregnancy.
I am 32, have seen my Family Dr. I was diagnosed with graves disease. I have also seen a endocrinologist who has told me is was a goiter. Im confused, I know my thyroid is getting larger. I have several symptoms but can not get a solid answer. What is the differance between a goiter and graved disease? What are the treaments for both?
