Getting pregnant after 40

Common Questions and Answers about Getting pregnant after 40

pregnant

Avatar f tn The odds are exactly the same. It only elevates after 3 in a row. I had 5 in a row before getting pregnant this time, so that combined with now being 40 put me in a high risk catagory. Only 1% of couples will experience 3 or more miscarriages in a row. I say go for it. At 39 your odds are still good. If you have another one, don't wait. Ask for testing to see if they can determine a cause. See a good RE or an OB that specializes in high risk.
Avatar f tn I am 40 years old and I am trying yo get pregnant. I have had 3 miscarriages and one stillborn. My problem isn't getting pregnant its staying pregnant. Any suggestions?
1021834 tn?1379292300 What you have read is true, it is typically not recommended for women over 40. The good news is I am 40 and 22 weeks pregnant with a healthy little boy (naturally conceived) and there are many women here who have been or are in the same situation. I used many different aides to help me out such as pre seed and ovulation predictors. Now, just because my experience with clomid wasn't a good one doesn't mean it won't be a good thing for you.
Avatar f tn I'm 41 years old and 15 weeks pregnant! Alot of issues so far but a positive attitude! !
Avatar n tn I was wondering how long it takes to get pregnant after you have been put on metforim to help with PCOS Syndrom
Avatar f tn You go girl! I'm over 40 and am 15 weeks pregnant with twins using donor eggs. We spent about 4 years trying with my own eggs to no avail. You increase your odds with the younger donor eggs, as older women with older eggs have a higher miscarriage rate. It's the best thing we ever did. Do your homework though...check with the CDC regarding the donor egg facilities.
Avatar f tn Met the man of my dreams a few years ago and know we are will spend the rest of our lives together. He has a son in college and we are both nearing 40 years old. I was on the pill and VERY surprised when I turned up pregnant a few months ago. After some denial we both we're looking forward to this baby, especially me as I have always wanted to be a mom! Unfortunately, after few weeks of cramps and spotting, I am no longer pregnant.
Avatar f tn Although we have considered getting pregnant... but never really tried technically. Well my last period started on 10/23/2012 It lasted it's usual 5 days. My ex and I seperated for a while, but we reconciled ironically the same week I ovulate. Well according to the charts I should have been ovulating 11/2-11/8. We had constant sex during that time period..especially on 4,5 and 6th. although I didn't know that was my ovulation time until after the fact.
Avatar m tn Me and my wife are just recently married ( 3 months), and we are having trouble getting pregnant. I'm 52 and she's 43, both have never had any kids. Although my wife has had two abortions, in the past (17 & 22 y.o.) we both had STD's in the past, which were all cured. My sperm analysis is very good, and her ultra sound results were very good too. She's still producing eggs, but we cannot conceive.
760556 tn?1255705081 Is there anyone out there who has never gotten pregnant before and has gotten pregnant now after age 40?? I am also on the over 35 forum and have been given great advice as well as hope, thanks for any comments you may have. Good luck to all!!
Avatar f tn I am 40 and was surprised with my pregnancy after just being married a month and a half ago. I'm 7 weeks with my 5th child. I'm very excited. My last is 8.
Avatar f tn It is pretty rare ( not impossible ) to get pregnant after 43 with your own eggs. Everyone has heard of someone who did (they are lucky!), but more often I hear of people who don't. As long as you are ovulating, there is hope. If you really want a baby badly enough, consider donor eggs. If you are healthy, there is no reason not to get pregnant, and its MUCH easier to do with young eggs. Once you feel the baby kick you will forget about whose DNA is whose!
Avatar f tn I'm 40 weeks pregnant today I went into the dr this afternoon and my blood pressure was high and I'm feeling really sick to my stomach and very weak why is this
Avatar f tn The chances of success are enhanced in those women who had only small parts of their fallopian tubes removed, or whose tubes were closed using rings or clips. Older women are less likely than younger woman to become pregnant after this procedure. The success rates range from 40% to 85% and depends on your age, length of the remaining fallopian tubes, amount of scar tissue in your pelvic area and type of tubal ligation procedure you had. Do contact a gynecologist.
Avatar f tn I am pregnant with my third child and have had high fluid levels this whole pregnancy. I am 37 weeks now and my doctor has scheduled me for an induction next week. I have been measuring about 40 weeks since I was 28 weeks pregnant so I am ready for her to come out. I have never been induced and have heard all the horror stories. Does anyone have any positive experiences to share?!

1222208 tn?1307696161 Trying TTC after miscarriage in January. Anybody over 40 TCC or pregnant naturally???? Am I too old to keep trying??
Avatar f tn Hi. Anyone 40 and over thats pregnant? I am about 5 weeks into my pregnancy and I seem to only find negative information about being an older pregnant woman. My boyfriend is 50 which clearly doesnt help lol. We definitely want to keep the baby. Any ideas on what we can do to beat these odds?
Avatar f tn im 41+5 hun, im getting induced on sunday... had two sweeps. first one i lost my plug day after and the second one did nothing... no sign of my baby coming before i get induced either... just a waiting game. i know how your feeling... do you have a date for induction?
Avatar f tn The sooner you start the better, your eggs are aging and many docs won't use your own eggs after 40-43 because it decreases their success rates for their practice. After 40 rates drop every year, I think for 40 it's around 30% if all your testing comes out okay. There's a new procedure where they do uterine scraping prior to a transfer and studies have shown it significantly increases your chances by as much as 30-35%. Find a doc that knows about this.
898530 tn?1268618782 I got pregnant (and now almost 34 weeks) at 41 years old. Honestly, every DR visit was one drama after another. Every test led to another test and more DR's saying this and that were bad/behind/possibly wrong. My son has gone from most "likely" (50%) having downs syndrome (he does not) to having one kidney (he does not) to being a dwarf (he is not) to having some major genetic issues (I doubt it..he is a short boy for christ sakes!
