low blood sugar is not the same as gestational diabetes. however even with gestational diabetes you can have low blood sugar.
I am due Feb 24 and have been avoiding the glucose test because of personal reasons. My doctor finall have me an ultimatum last week that if I wanted to do VBAC, I had to do the gestational diabetes screening. My one-hour level came back at 135 and now they want me to do the 3-hour test. I CANT!!! I was so sick, dizzy and weak from the 1-hour screening that I know I won't be able to do the 3-hour test.

Ok I had my blood work done at week 27 for blood sugar and it was 213 I am scared and dont know what to do. Does anyone know how much it can affect my baby's health. Or chances of any abnormalities? And when does diabetes actually start during preg is it only in 3rd trimester? Or I may have got it earlier than that?
Hi guys, I just told that I have gestational diabetes and I am 26 week of pregnant. Any advice on what to eat or do in order to bring that sugar level down, I don't want to do the insulin because it sounds too scary to inject something in your abdomen while pregnant. Help please! !
Hello ladies. I'm 28 weeks pregnant and was just diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Hearing the news devastated me. This is my first pregnancy and I know it may sound cliché but I prayed for a normal pregnancy. So now I'm worried because I know if the diabetes gets out of control it can lead to insulin shots and can effect the baby. Have any of you ladies gone through this? Or are currently dealing with this? How are you copping?
Ummm my urine smells sweet lik sugar or syrup could it b gestational diabetes developing n causinv it to smell sweet.. its weird because i don't eat sweets at all.. bt i read somewhere that durin pregnancy ur urine cn sometimes smell sweet..anyone had this problem.

My obgyn office says I have gestational diabetes, even though my blood sugars (tested for a week because I refused the glucose test) are within range of non-diabetic pregnant women according to the American Diabetes Association. I don't shoot up and down either, my sugars are fairly steady.

So I failed the 3 hour glucose test and they said I have gestational diabetes, I have been keeping track of what I eat , highest my blood sugar has been was 170 and that was 1 hour after eating some cereal with honey normal rang it has been running tho is 85 to 100. They say baby is fine and at the right growth rate but they keep freaking me out with this , if baby is fine I'm fine I have always eaten healthy and didn't have this with my first pregnancy.
Nothing to be afraid of... they are just making sure you dont have gestational diabetes. If the level were high during the 1 hour, then they will send you back for the 3. Same thing happened to me...
At my practice they only do the 3 hour because so many women fail the 1 hr test.
I currently found out I have gestational diabetes, just got my set today.. it's kind of depressing for me.. I know it will leave with the placenta once I have my baby.
just want to know if anyone else is going through this?
