and up dose on trazodone and vistaril. Still not better up dose on Geodon. Still worse with bad panic attacks,tardive dyskinesia, anger and rage, hot as fire most time. Can't take no more. And hallucinations. Dr. Said Xanax would make me worse(but helped) for years. Still seeing things, my rage feelings arescaring me and my hands shake most of time and have tics real bad. What do I do now? I feel like I'm going to explode or go crazy.

is it safe to take trazodone if i cant sleep and I am on a regular geodon 80mg and depakote 1000mg (devide by am/pm) also with cogentin?

I will soon be on Topamax,lamictal and wellbrutin. Going off geodon and serequel. Did well on those meds but weight gain was main issue. Im being wean off. Thanks for any comments.

i'm on geodon, lamictal, amitryptiline, trazodone, and occasionally ativan or xanax for anxiety... are these meds safe to take while prego? i'm 8 weeks & 3 days.

my oldest daughter is bipolar (controlled with med), she takes lamictal, geodon, trazodone and clonezepam. i give her the meds, so obviously i handle them. would that be enough contact to get some in my blood?(wouldn't think so) do any of those drugs cause false positive hpts? i am looking for any explanations here! i have been on all of my meds for at least two years, but just added the lovenox a month ago.

I am sorry to hear about your experiences with atypicals. My experience with them is that response to them is pretty individual (meaning that you might do well on one and not on another and it is hard to predict from the clinical trial data). Also, depending on the type of condition being treated the proper dose varies a lot (for instance, most folks with bipolar type 2 respond to much lower doses than folks with bipolar type 1 - although that also varies.

For a long time, I was very satisfied with it. I have had a lot pf psychotic symptoms along with the bipolar disorder, and the Geodon really helped keep those at bay. I had few side effects, except once in a while, I did feel kind of like a zombie. It didn't cause any weight gain, which was nice. When I did stop it, it was because I was starting to have problems with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), and I wanted to try the non-antipsychotic approach for a while. I hope this helps!

My doctor instructed me to hang on to the Zyprexa for emergency situations, but took me off of Abilify and replaced it with Geodon, which "it's claim to fame" (as she put it) is that it's least likely to cause weight issues, among the atypicals. 20mg twice daily. So far it is working well, and I get slightly drowsy but I'm not eating everything in sight. So now the regimen is Lexapro 20mg, Geodon 20mg/x2, Clonazepam 1mg/x3, and Trazodone 150mg/bedtime.

I have tried many meds to help me to sleep (trazodone, klonopin, Geodon..) nothing help. Now I am sleeping 2-3 hours a night with the help of gabapentin, but I do not feel tired, I DO NOT GET SLEEPY. Please help, I have been in this situation for almost a year. Can the damage done by the drug be permanent? Should I see a neurologist?

thank you for the info on Lamictal, but does anyone take Geodon? I take 40mg Geodon and Lamictal. I do feel so much better,but i was wondering more about the Geodon side effects. I feel alittle more anixous im wondering if it is the Geodon.

You make a huge leap of faith when you connect the geodon with the hallucinogenic affects of psilocybin. The geodon will not cancel out the hallucinogenic affects of psilocybin.

I have been on a combination of Wellbutrin (300 mg XL 1x/day), Cymbalta (30 mg 1x/day) and Geodon (20mg 1x/day). I also take 1500 mg Tyrosine 2x/day that has worked wonders. I have been experiencing a lot of anxiety lately that stays with me all day, and a little depression and irritability. I have been taking .5 mg Ativan as needed and I seem to need it almost every day.

Anyone ever taken geodon with serequel?( rapid weight gain Being wean off geodon from 80 twice a day now 40 twice a day. If I stop taking geodon will I be able to lose weight? Do serequel cause weight gain? (200 at bed time) It sure helps me sleep.Dr will replace geodon with Lamictal and tompamax. Thanks for any feed back.

Any comments on taking trazodone when hep c positive? my bf was diagnosed w/ hep c 6 years ago, has had 2 biopsies w/ the 2nd one last month showing small changes to his liver, but no recommendation for treatment yet. anyway, he has a hard time sleeping, ambien doesnt always help, and he also has some depression, so we thought this might be a good medication for him. thanks in advance.

That actually appears to be one side effect of Geodon but given that all (current) antipsychotics have anti-cholinergic side effects that could happen with any antipsychotic and given that people react differently to each one perhaps it was the medication you were transferred to rather than the Geodon helping it as Geodon is less likely to cause anti-cholinergic effects than some other antipsychotics.

I am bipolar 2 with PTSD. I was on Geodon, risperdal and lithium. The geodon was added last, and the risperdal was weaning down. I took it when it was new. For a few months, I did okay with it and didn't really have any problems. It was stopped because it eventually caused perceptual,,, especially visual, disturbances all of a sudden, and I ended up misjudging the freeway and drove my car over the embankment.

Now that I have stopped taking Geodon, I would like to know if anyone out there has been through the same experience with weight gain AND if weight loss is a side effect of coming off of Geodon? i felt mild but manageable chills on 20 mg geodon, 4 mg perphenazine, then my psychiatrist let me take zero mg geodon and 4 mg perphenazine. upon one day of taking zero mg geodon and 4 mg perphenazine i felt terrible chills up my spine. so i started taking 20 mg's geodon again. that didnt help, still the chills. so on the same day i took another 20 mg geodon, still the same chills.

I was on Geodon after Abilify made me gain weight. The Geodon , for me, didn't work for bipolar symptoms but I am a diificult case. Abilify was the only med that worked. However, I did loose weight on Geodon and for the 2st couple weeks had an usdet stomach. If this drug works for you, and you know it's trial error for us anyway, I think you'll be please with the lack of side effects. I didn't even know I was on it after a week.

I took Geodon but not with Triliptal also. I was allergic to Geodon, but that was my body.

about a lil over a year and in the residental im in they wont give me a direct connection about stopping meds.. im also on cogentin with geodon and zoloft. so i brought it upon myself to cut cold turkey.. i have been off since sat... its now tues. ivebeen experiencing dizziness and other feelings.. what does stopping geodon cold turkey do to you?

prescribed Trazodone for sleep. He prescribed 50 mgs. I started with a 1/4 of a tablet and every day built it up by another 1/4 tablet. I am now taking two 50 mg tablets. Its been about 10 days since I first started taking the Trazodone. It doesn't seem to be helping me sleep. I have very vivid dreams and am only able to sleep for 2 - 3 hrs. During the 2 - 3 hrs I don't feel like I am in a deep sleep because I am having wild dreams most of the time.

The ONLY time I feel stable is about 45 minutes to an hour after I take the Lamictal at night. When I get up in the morning, I am confused, tired (exhausted), paranoid, racing thoughts, severe anxiety, naseous (I have lost over 50 pounds in six months (a lot because I can't eat during the day). The loss of appetite is about the same time that I took Geodon. I'm now off of Geodon. The symptoms haven't improved. I really haven't felt well for about a year.
