geodon sleep

s still not giving me a proper amount of sleep of which I have taken the past three nights. before i had my episode i could sleep without any problems whatsover. i feel the geodon is blocking my serotonin receptors totally as i've dropped down to 60 milligrams of geodon in hopes of normal sleep patterns to return. can the high dosage of geodon increase the chances of insomnia over time? i can't believe that an episode would cause this problem with insomnia.

im still looking for help for sleep. i just found out geodon is a gainer. i dropped ativan too. oh well i guess its no sleep for this crazy girl.

my doc gave it to me for bipolar and to help me sleep. I was taking the 60mg and about 5 of them would knock me out. don't be scared of 40mg its like a puppy dog. The best food mix I found out is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for best results.

I take Geodon however I have never been prescribed seroquel. I was never told that Geodon would help me lose weight but I have heard that it has a chance of lower weight gain than other medications. I have been on Geodon for about 4 years. I like it for the most part other than I keep having bladder infections and I have been told that Geodon could be the culprit. is it ok to take an extra ambein 4 hours after first. So I can sleep? I'm starting hypomania. If I don't sleep i'll break.Can't get to doc till mon.

Which is worse bipolar one or two. And has anyone taken geodon. If so what side effects did you have.

I was on Geodon for about 3 years. About six months of overlap with Zyprexa at the beginning - it took forever to get off of Zyprexa - and almost a year of overlap with Seroquel at the end. It was a good drug in general. I remained relatively stable the entire time I was on it, but still experienced significant sleep problems. Eventually tried Seroquel because I had already been on all of the others (I had problems with Abilify, too) and it tends to have more of a sedative effect.

In the morning I take 40mg of geodon and in the night I take 80mg. But 2 days ago i couldnt get a refill so i didnt take any. So I was without until this morning. This morning when I woke up, I went to the bathroom. The freakiest withdrawal symptom happened, it felt as if I was mentally retarded, and I didn't know where I was at. Other symptoms are shakiness, heart pounding, insomnia. But the first one I've never had before and it freaked me out.

I then took Seroquel for several years and my weight stayed stable, but still overweight 60 lbs. I then took Geodon (Zeldox) and within a year I had lost 30 lbs without changing anything in my diet or exercise. For the first 10 months I felt great. I had so much more energy, I felt like I was coming out of a long period of being a zombie. Unfortunately I had to stop Geodon because it started causing anxiety.

Hes putting me on geodon to try and get me off zyprexa and to see if i get better sleep. I am on 30 mg of zyprexa right now and life has been better, cause at one time i was on 40 mg. With all the medications I am on I still don't sleep that well. We both think I'm over medicated. The doctor says that I need to calm down and relax and wait for them to work and then he will start to slowly reduce my amounts and how much medications i am on. the objective right now is to fisrt stablize me.

I've taken Abilify for yrs & love it. I have none of the side effects I had on other drugs. Try it!

i was just put back on geodon wednesday. i was on it once before, but only for about 3 days. i had to stop taking it bc my second son had jus been born and it made me so sleepy and it was so hard to wake me up. well when i went to the dr wednesday, she wanted to try it again. she said the first week being on it is bad, and if i can get through that first week things will prolly get better. does anyone know if that is true? i'm taking 120 mg a night.

I've been on Geodon for 18 months and Remeron for 6 months. They stabalized my anxiety, but have bad motivation and gave me a flat personality. I successfully weaned off Remeron without any problems. I started to taper Geodon from 60mg to 40mg and got really bad anxiety. Is this my anxiety returning or is this withdrawal? I've had the anxiety for about 5 days now.

I think I might be getting manic again. I just switched from risperdal to geodon. I am on the lowest dose of geodon, but I am worried about taking more because it gave me body aches, and I had to start taking cogentin again, and if I take more of the geodon it might increase my chances of getting more yucky side effects. I feel like I am stuck between a rock and a hard place, lol.

I have a multitude of health issues, but I wont post them today!! I was prescribed Geodon 80 mg. today by my Psychiatrist. Ive tried everything out there (some with horrible side effects) so she wants me to try this now. the question I have is this.....I have never had the racing thoughts, the "highs" of bipolar--those symptoms have never been a part of my problem. I have extremely low, lows. I have the black cloud of doom looming over my head all the time...

he was briefly put on meds for a few months the 1st time and this last time he was put on Geodon. Im confused, the psychiatrist that put him on the meds org said that he would probably need to take them for a year or 2...He went back to work and had to have a physical and that doctor said that people usually dont stay on geodon to long...but his after discharge psychiatrist made it sound like he was going to be on geodon forever..he has never had depression either..

re doing that works best. For me I just tried to sleep two hours after I took the Geodon which is when it normally kicked in. Abilify doesn't sedate me anywhere near as much as Geodon did before it became activating but it still makes me tired enough to sleep 3/4ths of the day. Not having a job I just try to sleep in a schedule that works best for me.

thank you for the info on Lamictal, but does anyone take Geodon? I take 40mg Geodon and Lamictal. I do feel so much better,but i was wondering more about the Geodon side effects. I feel alittle more anixous im wondering if it is the Geodon.

When I was on Geodon I was changed promptly back to Seroquel. Geodon, however, is less likely than other antipsychotics to cause weight gain but then again so is Abilify so you might ask about your psychiatrist about that but speak to your psychiatrist before making medication changes. I would say only a psychiatrist can diagnose psychosis. A person experiencing it can't see it in themselves and I wouldn't call it "detoxing" as its not a medication in that category.

I tried Geodon for about 3mths, and I couldnt take it. I couldnt sleep, eat, the whole experience for me on this medication was plain ol BAD. I am now on Abilify. It has only been a month now, so we will see how it goes. I would suggest that with any medication, if you cannot live your life because of side effects, then get off it, consult your dr and try something else. There is no point feeling bad when the medication is meant to make you feel good. Let us know how it goes.

Does anyone know a way to decrease the anxiety when tapering off Geodon? I'm already taking Klonopin, and Benedryl doesn't help. I've been on 20mg with breakfast and 40mg with dinner for six months now. Doctor has no further suggestions. Please reply if you know how to control the rebound anxiety!

All of this has me so worried that sometimes I wake in the middle of the night and listen for her breathing, checking if she's still alive. Imagine that for a moment, it's horrible. I've been so stressed and worried endlessly for so long now that I've even had an anxiety attack myself at work and now fight that every day in social environments.

So I'm taking 40mg of Geodon for bipolar, though no psychotic symptoms. Now I know bipolar alone should deter me from taking mushrooms, and honestly I'm sure it will. And I know mixing recreational drugs with psychatric meds is a bad idea. Nevertheess, I have a question concerning the interaction between Geodon and psilocybin. From what I've read, psilocybin is an agonist to the 5HT2 serotonin receptor, which I assume means that it increases serotonin.

I transitioned form Geodon thatt was making me drool and stumble after many yearss of use (precursor to EPS). I get anywhere from 2-4 hrs sleep a night and then am raring to go. Anyone else expereince this? I also have difficulty concentrating but my mood has been good, no depression or craqshes.

I went to the pdoc yesterday and he decided to put me on 40mg of Geodon to help with my racing thoughts and slight paranoia, as well as my concentration problem. I wanted to take everything I said back (I was hoping he would up my lithium since my levels are low.). I have been on Wellbutrin off and on for 10 years, on Cymbalta for 4-5 years and Geodon for 4 years. I have been on Geodon 40 mg at times, but recently for the last year or so, on 20 mg. Recently, my psychiatrist bumped me up to 40 mg again. It seems like the last time I was on 40 mg, I also had anxiety and obsessive thoughts. Anyone ever taken geodon with serequel?( rapid weight gain Being wean off geodon from 80 twice a day now 40 twice a day. If I stop taking geodon will I be able to lose weight? Do serequel cause weight gain? (200 at bed time) It sure helps me sleep.Dr will replace geodon with Lamictal and tompamax. Thanks for any feed back.
