geodon

Avatar n tn My brother has been on 160mg Geodon since 2/2008. He is having severe memory problems. Is it due to Geodon? He has schizoaffective disorder. He was also put on cogentin and inderal.
Avatar f tn Now that I have stopped taking Geodon, I would like to know if anyone out there has been through the same experience with weight gain AND if weight loss is a side effect of coming off of Geodon? If not, is it easier to lose weight once you are off of the medication? I have my mind back and now I want my body back! Hope to hear some good news!
Avatar m tn ve never heard of it happening personally but I know multiple different websites state it can be a side effect. I did really well on Geodon except it gave me bad memory loss and made me feel stupid on some days and muted some of my personality traits.
Avatar n tn Well I take 40MG of Geodon in the morning and 80MG of Geodon at night along with some other medicine due to a high level of OCD. But a while back I went cold turkey on Geodon for 2 days because I couldn't get a refill. So during those 2 days these were my main symptoms, "insomnia, shakiness, heart pounding, dizziness, vision problems".
Avatar f tn Has anyone else had their meds cause or what seems to cause short term memory loss? I told my dr about this yesterday and of course my meds were changed. Im hoping when I start the new "cocktail" next week that some of these side effects cease.
222267 tn?1253302210 ve posted Trans Cranial Magnetic Stimulation has a good success rate and a safer long term side effect profile as regards cognitive confusion and memory loss. Since its FDA approved its worth inquiring about: http://www.nami.org/Content/ContentGroups/Helpline1/Transcranial_Magnetic_Stimulation_(rTMS).
Avatar m tn t say for sure but I have never heard of Geodon causing hair loss. I have been taking Geodon for years and still have a full head of hair. That probably didn't help too much. Sorry. I just looked up side effects for it and there was nothing that said hair loss. I see my pdoc next Tues. and I will ask him.
Avatar f tn I have been on meds for bi-polar and have developed tremors and memory loss (phone #, SS# etc plus other). I have gotten off the meds, been a few days, and am scared that this will be a permanent change. Friends who hadn't seen me in months, came over recently and were shocked and concerned about me, telling me that I seemed like a zombie. My husband's friends are pulling him aside and asking what's wrong. This is NOT the normal me.
Avatar f tn ) symptoms and not so great for my negative (loss of pleasure, lack of affect, lack of motivation, etc.) symptoms. Abilify works better for my negative symptoms. My cognitive (memory loss, confusion, problems with thinking, etc.) symptoms seem to be getting worse as time passes however. I however have significantly gained weight on Abilify with no signs of stopping even with exercise and dieting so I'm going to request a med change if this keeps up.
672788 tn?1238120672 It worked great for me and alleviated all my psychosis at the right dosage and got rid of all but one of my negative symptoms but it caused me to have bad memory loss sometimes and some days I felt stupid on it. It also reduced some of my personality traits. I noticed a change immediately but this is different for everyone I think. I also had heart problems like ILADVOCATE where it felt like my heart was being ripped apart and I had to stop taking it as well.
Avatar f tn Topamax becareful with that it caused me a week of memory loss. Some meds will put you to sleep but you would need to watch that so you wont grow dependent on them. I have the same problem with insomnia. If I were you I try to go the natural route if you could.
Avatar n tn I am on seroquel and abilify, and so far they havent caused any weight gain for me, or weight loss! I was on geodon at one point to, but that was a nightmare! You will have to sit back, and see what happens. If you really dont want the weight gain, then exercising should definitely help! I cant say for sure either, what the result will be!
Avatar f tn I take geodon and have for about a year. I started taking 160mg a day. If I remember right, I had problems then with drowsiness. Now I've been tapered down to 60mg a day. I didn't notice any withdrawal symptoms going down but everyone is different. I've always taken herbal liver support and my liver enzymes have always been spot on. One thing I have definitely noticed while taking geodon is cold shivers and goose bumps. Seriously it's weird.
1202354 tn?1267655734 I am on Topamax for my migrains and for weightloss, well I am taking Geodon as well for depression, my question is.... If I am taking geodon will the Geodon which can cause mild weight gain counter act the weight loss with the topamax??
Avatar f tn The ONLY time I feel stable is about 45 minutes to an hour after I take the Lamictal at night. When I get up in the morning, I am confused, tired (exhausted), paranoid, racing thoughts, severe anxiety, naseous (I have lost over 50 pounds in six months (a lot because I can't eat during the day). The loss of appetite is about the same time that I took Geodon. I'm now off of Geodon. The symptoms haven't improved. I really haven't felt well for about a year.
1610967 tn?1314811101 Included in my regimen are Geodon and Cymbalta. I noticed when I added the Geodon, I am not as hungry and food does not always taste as good. It has improved over the course of the year, but I have other more bothersome side effects from the Geodon. It has helped me in so many ways, I stay on it. Do you have any other side effects from the Geodon?
Avatar m tn Has anyone taking Geodon ever experienced extreme pain in the jaw when biting down? I woke up with this a few days ago on the left side and it started to go away but it came back as bad as before. It hurts so much just trying to chew food. I woke up yesterday with my left arm having a similar pain in it right above the elbow when I move it in certain ways.
Avatar f tn I guess my fiance says I have memory loss since I was pregnant. Our daughter is a month now and I guess he says I see and hear things differently then how they happen or do things I don't know I did. He said it has been since I was pregnant not before. Has this happened to anyone?
Avatar m tn I've had memory loss due to vitamin B12 malabsorption, hypothyroidism, and severe stress. Alzheimer's is also called Diabetes Type 3. A book you might want to read is called Brain Grain by David Perlmutter M.D.
Avatar n tn I am a year and half post tx and I am experiencing memory loss, processing information (use to have a wonderful sense of direction) and just not myself. I have a very hectic job and I feel there are times I cannot keep up--and yes my confidence has diminished...anyone out there feel the same way...???
Avatar m tn But doing this resulted in side effect like shrinking of brain leading to memory loss. He is in critical condition now. Is there any solution for this. If yes, please give that advice fast.
Avatar n tn After coratid artery surgery, experiencing memory loss which is not consistently short term or long term, is it possible for the brain to reconfigure areas damaged by particles that passed through the filter and regain the ability to remember? This discussion is related to short term memory loss.
562833 tn?1233756109 Does anyone or has anyone experienced memory loss over pain killers. I feel I am losing my mind half the time. I can't remember what I was about to do, or what I need to do. And where I put stuff, I am really starting to worry about this, along with all the other things, I am worried about. maybe this is just part of my OCD. I tend to worry about everything and keep stressing about it.
Avatar m tn re in an alcohol/substance related group - memory loss can be associated with drinking. It can be associated with many other things, too - from different medications, mental or cognitive health conditions, and even sometimes stress. I think it is very important that you speak to a doctor who can survey your health & lifestyle profile to work with what is known - and other factors that may not be known.
