Geodon and zoloft combination

Common Questions and Answers about Geodon and zoloft combination

geodon

4971738 tn?1390565384 I take a low dose of lithium (600mg) and am doing okay on it. Because it is such a low dose I don't have to get my lithium levels drawn like you do on a higher dose. I have noticed the shakiness. It bothers me at times. My psych says it could be the geodon but I think it's the lithium. I'm weaning off other things like the geodon and lamictal. She wants me to get down to only zoloft and lithium.
Avatar n tn I have been on Wellbutrin off and on for 10 years, on Cymbalta for 4-5 years and Geodon for 4 years. I have been on Geodon 40 mg at times, but recently for the last year or so, on 20 mg. Recently, my psychiatrist bumped me up to 40 mg again. It seems like the last time I was on 40 mg, I also had anxiety and obsessive thoughts. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same experience with Geodon, since that is the only thing that has changed recently.
Avatar n tn since i already tried reducing the geodon and staying with the perphenazine and experienced chills, me and my psychiatrist decided i should stay with the geodon and stop taking the perphenazine. i've been taking these meds against paranoia, which i haven't experienced for like a year, even when reducing meds. i read on the web that both geodon and perphenazine can cause chills. maybe your medication causes chills too - be smart and check it out asap, dont waste time.
Avatar n tn about a lil over a year and in the residental im in they wont give me a direct connection about stopping meds.. im also on cogentin with geodon and zoloft. so i brought it upon myself to cut cold turkey.. i have been off since sat... its now tues. ivebeen experiencing dizziness and other feelings.. what does stopping geodon cold turkey do to you?
Avatar n tn I AM TAKING ZOLOFT, BUSPAR AND TRAZADONE ALL TOGETHER IS THIS A GOOD COMBINATION?
1202354 tn?1267655734 I decided to work out on the 7th and it was not a good idea I started to work out and I started to sweat than stopped and started getting goose bump and got really dizzy so I stopped and sat down, aparently this combintaion of medication blockes the ability to sweat and put the body temp very high!!! so I decided I would not take this medication anymore....
Avatar n tn Effexor is most effective for my depression and ADD. Zoloft is most effective for my obsessive thinking, but also makes me very tired. Can I take both at the same time? ( Currectly take Effexor XR 150mg.. Used to take Zoloft 100mg. daily.) If not, is there a different med that can be taken with the Effexor to help control the obsessing?
Avatar f tn ive been put on multiple meds just bc of experimenting to see if theyd work on depression.. Zoloft, seroquel, septalaphram, geodon and respirdol. I realized at some point i felt like a zombie..i couldnt taste or feel and didnt care about anything, such as hygiene, hobbies, friends or family, grades..it didnt matter. I felt less than depressed, like an empty shell. So i quit taking those meds and some of the things have gone away but i still feel very vague..like in a dreamlike state..
Avatar m tn Seems the geodon, seroquell and depakote were my best combination from the hospital pdoc in 05. Wierd because lithium and geodon were not a good mix and left me further in the hole. Won't give you the recipe in open forum. Have to go get ready to go to psych. Better than two weeks ago but still in the hole. Hope your skin remains without dryness.
1258608 tn?1269552597 I am currently on 160mg of Geodon, 200mg of Zoloft, 5mg of Abilify, 2mg Klonopin, 60mg of Propranolol. I also suffer from major tremors that are pretty much constant and very noticeable to others. I have a hard time driving because I get tremors in my legs and feet. The tremors have gotten worse over time. I could really use some support right now and any advice that you may have.
1258608 tn?1269552597 Does anyone else suffer from major hand tremors? I am on Geodon, Zoloft, Klonopan, Propranolol, & Lithium. My tremors have gotten worse and would like to know if anyone was able to overcome them. It really bothers me and is very noticeable.
Avatar m tn She was diagnosed with Hypothyrodism and told to get off the Geodon because it causes weight gain and possibly Diabeties (he was pretty upset that she was taking Geodon and believes she's been mis-diagnosed). Sure enough, she's pre-diabetic and now also taking Byetta and Metformin. All these medications really have me worried. She's now experiencing diarrhea frequently and stomach pain often lately.
Avatar f tn My doctor started me on a trial of Geodon about two weeks ago. At first, felt okay and saw some positive things about the drug. Then the negative side effects began emerging and I wound up in ER last Sat. My doctor had told me I could stop the drug if I didnt like it. The ER wasnt sure what to tell me to do. They left it up to me. So, I stopped it. They gave me Ativan to calm any anxiety. Last dose was Sunday and this is Wednesday. Feeling off, extreme anxiety, unwell. Is this common?
Avatar f tn My question has to do with Vistaril and the weight gain issues that can be associated with it. On December 14, 2016, my pdoc put me on 25mg of Vistaril to be taken 3 times per day, but I wasn't getting any benefits from the medication. (I also take 60 mg. of Cymbalta; 40 mg. of Geodon twice per day; and 1 mg. of Klonopin - up to three times per day.). I've tried many other combinations of medicines in the past. I was prescribed the Vistaril for breakthrough anxiety.
Avatar m tn In my case Seroquel did not cause any erectile dysfunction but Zoloft did as well as Wellbutrin. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
Avatar m tn So I'm taking 40mg of Geodon for bipolar, though no psychotic symptoms. Now I know bipolar alone should deter me from taking mushrooms, and honestly I'm sure it will. And I know mixing recreational drugs with psychatric meds is a bad idea. Nevertheess, I have a question concerning the interaction between Geodon and psilocybin. From what I've read, psilocybin is an agonist to the 5HT2 serotonin receptor, which I assume means that it increases serotonin.
Avatar f tn After searching for the right combination of medicine for my bipolar illness because I was often non-compliant to my medication regimen due to weight gain, I found the right mix with Wellbutrin/Geodon. However, though I lost weight on the combination ( I weighed 107 pounds on a 5'1" frame), I was diagnosed with an eating disorder (anorexia with binge eating).
Avatar f tn Two of the medications (Cymbalta, Geodon) you are taking can commonly (especially Geodon) cause extra pyramidal side effects (temporary movement disorders) such as akathesia which can be treated with a side effect pill. I had that problem with Lamictal but with that it is a statistically rare adverse side effect. If you are feeling any cognitive confusion that should go away in time. Once the Lamictal begins to work in full you can ask your psychiatrist about adjusting your other medications.
Avatar f tn Anyone out there been on Zoloft before gone off it and had it work going back on it? Just wondering??
Avatar n tn I was going to take the Lamictal with the Geodon, and and only take the Geodon long enough to get me to the theraputic dose of lamictal. However, the Geodon made me really hyper and irritable (at only 20 mg), and gave me a ravenous appetite. So now I'm trying a very small dose of seroquel with the Lamictal. And yes, the dr. I'm seeing is a psychatrist who specialises in eating disorders. I love my family doc.
Avatar n tn i gained 50lbs.
Avatar f tn ve tried a bunch of different things--the worst was a Trazadone-Effexor-Metoprolol-Geodon-Ativan combination that turned me into a zombie with hypertension, stomach aches, constipation, and severe dissociation. I recently tapered off of 300mg Zoloft and am now off of all medications. I was getting debilitating headaches along with muscle aches, night sweats and insomnia, and I still wasn't feeling better. About 12 days ago I was on 50 mg and I just stopped.
Avatar f tn I am currently taking Geodon, Cymbalta, Lamictal and Geodon. Recently I've had times when I've seen things that weren't what they really were. I'm wondering if this is psychosis. They're not like hallucinations, just sort of like I'm in a fog, not with it. I also have trouble with my understanding when someone is saying something to me, like a delayed reaction, feeling kind of slow. I really wonder if I need both mood stablizers.
1688103 tn?1306036134 I've been bipolar for about 8 years and I can control my mania with Geodon, but I've have yet to find a mediacation for my depressed. Some meds have some effect on my depression, but it only lasts a couple of months and I'm back where I started! I've even tried ECT treaments for 3 months with only minimal relief for the depression but I also lost huge chunks of my longterm remedies. I'm at a lose as what to do next. I've been giving up on ever getting better.
Avatar f tn I take lamictal, geodon, zoloft, welbutrin and lithium. I've been going down on all doses except the zoloft and lithium. Right now I am losing weight very slowly without trying. I took zyprexa for a while and gained weight on it but that was the first med I've tried that I could definitely point the finger at and say it caused me to gain weight.
