geodon and xanax

My son is 21 and was given geodon 40 mg an xanax he has had two seizures before starting these meds.I love my doctor but just want 2 and opinion and what I should watch out for?

t think, but I took rispiridol and gained like 30 pounds in a month so I told my pdoc and he put me on geodon- I lost the weight in a month that I had gained. I guess it's different for everyone, u just have to see what different meds do for u.

Been on meds for years. Without Dr. A few months sop family Dr gave me Geodon,cymbalta and Xanax till I got new Dr. New Dr put me In hospital for 3 days and took away Xanax and added vistaril 25mg 3 times day,neurontin 300mg @ bedtime,trazodone 100mg @ bedtime and up dose to 90mg cymbalta. Getting worse so saw Dr. and up dose on trazodone and vistaril. Still not better up dose on Geodon. Still worse with bad panic attacks,tardive dyskinesia, anger and rage, hot as fire most time.

I hate having to depend on xanax to relieve the pressure. Does anyone know what is going on with my body and what Geodon and Depakote has done to my body? Has anyone one else experienced this or know someone that has? My doc seems to just think this is going to go away but after 6 months it hasn't got much better. I never had anything like this until taking those meds and as far as the anxiety I never had tightness or back pain.

t happy with it because of the weight gain and skin (terrible breakouts) issues. He switched me on October 14th to Geodon. I took 40mg a day for two days and then was bumped up to 80mg. I continued taking the 80mg a day but was completely sick on this medication. I would have waves of dizziness, flu-like symptoms, blurred vision. Finally I was able to get the pdoc to call me back on 10/24/08 and I told him that I was unable to tolerate the medication.

So yesterday Abilify(2mg in am) was added to my 600mg(3002xd)Lithium, 1mg(1xd)Xanax and of course 50mg(1/2 or 1@bedtime)..Has anyone had any experience with Abilify?f it's something bad..nevermind.

So I'm taking 40mg of Geodon for bipolar, though no psychotic symptoms. Now I know bipolar alone should deter me from taking mushrooms, and honestly I'm sure it will. And I know mixing recreational drugs with psychatric meds is a bad idea. Nevertheess, I have a question concerning the interaction between Geodon and psilocybin. From what I've read, psilocybin is an agonist to the 5HT2 serotonin receptor, which I assume means that it increases serotonin.

my psychiatrist allowed me to reduce dosage from 20 mg geodon (ziprasidone) and 4 mg perphenazine to zero milligrams geodon and 4 mg perphenazine. i took zero mg geodon and 4 mg perphenazine for just one day and have terrible chills up my back.

Hes putting me on geodon to try and get me off zyprexa and to see if i get better sleep. I am on 30 mg of zyprexa right now and life has been better, cause at one time i was on 40 mg. With all the medications I am on I still don't sleep that well. We both think I'm over medicated. The doctor says that I need to calm down and relax and wait for them to work and then he will start to slowly reduce my amounts and how much medications i am on. the objective right now is to fisrt stablize me.

t know EVERYTHING and far from it, no one does. I went through relapse and withdrawal when I was forced to quit Geodon cold turkey.

It helped me greatly with what Geodon had done to me when I came off too quickly--I had acute anxiety/chronic agiation from the geodon for a year. that program- uses capsules that stop anxiety and withdrawal side effects.

I have been on Wellbutrin off and on for 10 years, on Cymbalta for 4-5 years and Geodon for 4 years. I have been on Geodon 40 mg at times, but recently for the last year or so, on 20 mg. Recently, my psychiatrist bumped me up to 40 mg again. It seems like the last time I was on 40 mg, I also had anxiety and obsessive thoughts. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same experience with Geodon, since that is the only thing that has changed recently.

I am currently taking Geodon, Cymbalta, Lamictal and Geodon. Recently I've had times when I've seen things that weren't what they really were. I'm wondering if this is psychosis. They're not like hallucinations, just sort of like I'm in a fog, not with it. I also have trouble with my understanding when someone is saying something to me, like a delayed reaction, feeling kind of slow. I really wonder if I need both mood stablizers.

Just an update: I've been advised to stop taking the Geodon, and to use the Xanax I'm already prescribed and acclimated to as needed in the short term to treat residual anxiety and agitation. Seroquel was added by a different doctor to help with sleep and agitation as an alternative to Xanax, but I think I'm going to stick with what I know right now. Thanks for the input!

I'm bipolar 1 and have been on 160 MG of geodon for 16 yrs and it has stopped working for me.

I went a few months without any medication, before receiving a prescription for Geodon. GEODON IS A TERRIBLE DRUG. I took 20 mg a day for four days, and during those four days (and for several days after) I experienced lightheadedness/feeling faint, headache, nausea, loss of appetite, akathesia, irregular/rapid heart beat, racing thoughts, EXTREME anxiety, insomnia, and flu like symtoms. All of these were so debilitating, it was difficult for me to even get up and walk around.

I have been on Geodon for about two years and my hair is coming out in handfuls.

He is having severe memory problems. Is it due to Geodon? He has schizoaffective disorder. He was also put on cogentin and inderal.

I have gained an enormous amount of weight on Seroquel. I started taking it 5 years ago, and have asked for something that isn't weight gaining. I was put on geodon, but had a terrible reaction (my tongue swelled and I couldn't breathe or speak), zyprexa I gained weight too, so I stuck with the Seroquel and just have to work a little harder to get this weight off. My doc knows how I am about my weight, before I started Seroquel I had lost 80 lbs. now I have gained that plus.

He does resent any type of input on my part. Once I told him I did not like xanax he wanted to give me Geodon and others....I REFUSED and it made him mad. He asked me "what do plan on doing then?" I told him I would just do the best I could...he did not like that. Since my post I have an appointment with a doctor who treats my bro-inlaw with valium and am hoping he will do the same. thank you for the info on Lamictal, but does anyone take Geodon? I take 40mg Geodon and Lamictal. I do feel so much better,but i was wondering more about the Geodon side effects. I feel alittle more anixous im wondering if it is the Geodon.

I've been taking the xanax illegally. And none wants to help. I'm on .5mg of xanax now and i'm going through it really rough. Neither my family doc nor my pdoc wants to help me taper. And going to detox wouldn't help because I already went and that made me infinitely worse.

Any medication can sometimes take a week or two or longer to take full effect while some will take effect instantaneously. It all depends on the person of course. When I took Geodon I sometimes would "drool and stumble" figuratively for the former (felt really dumb some days) and literally for the latter (dragged my feet and sometimes felt drunk).

i have PTSD from combat and i take zoloft for this and i suffer from flashbacks and nightmares i also have schizophrenia and tardive dyskinesia i take geodon and congentin for this.

I decided to work out on the 7th and it was not a good idea I started to work out and I started to sweat than stopped and started getting goose bump and got really dizzy so I stopped and sat down, aparently this combintaion of medication blockes the ability to sweat and put the body temp very high!!! so I decided I would not take this medication anymore....

Today is my fifth day on Geodon and I have been doing massive research on it to find out as much as I can about its pharmacology and effects. My question is: if Geodon causes constipation, will taking a stool softener decrease its absorption? Also: I understand it must be taken with food, what fiber/fat gram goal should be met before taking it?

I just started on 25 mg seroquel and I'm weaning myself off Xanax .5mg. I was taking 4 or more a day because I was so anxious. I've noticed that I crave a lot of sugar (generally ) and when I started the seroquel I craved it even more. For the last two days I've eaten 2 bars of chocolate at night ( waking from sleep just to put a bar in my mouth and munch on it. Now, I weigh 83lbs as of now and height 5'1.

i'm on geodon, lamictal, amitryptiline, trazodone, and occasionally ativan or xanax for anxiety... are these meds safe to take while prego? i'm 8 weeks & 3 days.

ve been feeling suicidal and a bit depressed. Has anyone else had the same experience on geodon? Is it the geodon or Just depression emerging? I really appreciate the help.
