geodon and anxiety

I also increased the Geodon to 40 mg a day for the depression and am experiencing worse anxiety and obsessive thoughts, which I haven't had since the last time I was on 40 mg of Geodon. I can't find anything on the web that connects obsessiveness with Geodon. All of this is under my psychiatrist's guidance and he does not know why I'm experiencing this. Can you help?

I take 80mg Geodon. It does not cause anxiety for me and does not help my anxiety unless i'm in an up swing to mania. Then it calms that down. Give it some time. If you are that anxious and lost that much weight, I would call your pdoc and see if he can help you out. Sometimes medications can cause a side effect in one person and not someone else. I don't have any problems at all with the medication.

I went a few months without any medication, before receiving a prescription for Geodon. GEODON IS A TERRIBLE DRUG. I took 20 mg a day for four days, and during those four days (and for several days after) I experienced lightheadedness/feeling faint, headache, nausea, loss of appetite, akathesia, irregular/rapid heart beat, racing thoughts, EXTREME anxiety, insomnia, and flu like symtoms. All of these were so debilitating, it was difficult for me to even get up and walk around.

t get metoprolol for just having Sinus Tachycardia and everything else is fine. It also sounds like there is anxiety involved? Even anxiety and running around in a stressful situation or being scared will cause the heart to pound. If it is sinus tachycardia with withdrawal, and you have a healthy body with everythng in nomal ranges, I can only guess the metoprolol is only prescribed while you are going through withdrawal, which doesn't last forever.

I successfully weaned off Remeron without any problems. I started to taper Geodon from 60mg to 40mg and got really bad anxiety. Is this my anxiety returning or is this withdrawal? I've had the anxiety for about 5 days now. At what point to decide to go back on my original dose of Geodon or should I stick it out in the hopes that the anxiety passes?

I just tapered down from Geodon and I'm completely off of it now. I was feeling panic, anxiety, depression, overall feelings of doom. My pdoc told me that he thought I was having bad side effects from the Geodon, so now I am off of it. Right now, I am taking Lamictal 400mg per day (for bipolar 1). I still feel confused, sedated, and overall just bad. I feel like I have the flu almost. This has gone on for months and I can't seem to shake it.

I then took Seroquel for several years and my weight stayed stable, but still overweight 60 lbs. I then took Geodon (Zeldox) and within a year I had lost 30 lbs without changing anything in my diet or exercise. For the first 10 months I felt great. I had so much more energy, I felt like I was coming out of a long period of being a zombie. Unfortunately I had to stop Geodon because it started causing anxiety.

I have been experiencing severe depression and anxiety for about a week and a half. It is driving me crazy and makes me want to isolate at home. I would love to hear any suggestions you guys might have. Is there a better diet I should be working on or supplements. I am currently on 160mg of Geodon, 200mg of Zoloft, 5mg of Abilify, 2mg Klonopin, 60mg of Propranolol. I also suffer from major tremors that are pretty much constant and very noticeable to others.

I had my appt with Pysch. I diagnosed me with Rapid Cycling Bipolar, and Anxiety with dilusions. He put me on Geodon. What side effects should I expect? Tonight I felt dizzy, blurring vision, and sleepiness.

So I'm taking 40mg of Geodon for bipolar, though no psychotic symptoms. Now I know bipolar alone should deter me from taking mushrooms, and honestly I'm sure it will. And I know mixing recreational drugs with psychatric meds is a bad idea. Nevertheess, I have a question concerning the interaction between Geodon and psilocybin. From what I've read, psilocybin is an agonist to the 5HT2 serotonin receptor, which I assume means that it increases serotonin.

Be very careful.and go back on the geodon and come off slowly tapering in half in 2 or 3 weeks. I came off in 3 days 40mg and it threw me into chronic anxiety with tremors and quivers I still have today. Don't take a chance and stay cold turkey. It causes temors and chronice insomina when you get off it after more thana week. or even less...Please beware what geodon does. It is a highly potent drug. songwriterdelta.

I am on the lowest dose of geodon, but I am worried about taking more because it gave me body aches, and I had to start taking cogentin again, and if I take more of the geodon it might increase my chances of getting more yucky side effects. I feel like I am stuck between a rock and a hard place, lol.

150 milligrams of trazadone at bedtime, 120 milligrams of geodon at bedtime, 1milligram 3 times a day of lorazapam and 150 milligrams of wellbutrin 2 times a day.

I was also recently put on geodon. My side effect is also anxiety and I feel like I cannot catch my breath. Like scary .... I am so short of breath like I cannot get enough air in. Do you have this side effect?? I am also on Clonidine for anxiety and high blood pressure. Maybe it is the combination of the two? I am so confused. The medicine is supposed to help anxiety not cause it!!

im having a hundred different emotions from that situation as well. has anyone had similar side effects from taking geodon and luvox and what are some side effects if any that i should look out for?

I was prescribed Geodon 40 mg x1@night for anxiety related to PTSD 2 weeks ago & have untreated hypertension that has been running extremely high the past 2 days & nights. What are the chances that Geodon's the cause?

Geodon was a horrible drug for withdrawals..... She should NOT stop cold turkey, but under the guidance of a pdoc slowly taper down... I was only on it for about 2 weeks and it as one of the worst experiences I've ever gone through....

so i have been diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression. i only get depressed when i am severly anxious. i constantly worry and dwell over one thought. i usually dwell until i get an answer! i have recently developed floaters, but have been told that is because of anxiety, they're annoying as heck! anyways i recently went into the hospital (state hospital) and lied about being suicidal because i thought i was losing my mind!!

Geodon is a great mood stabilizer for many people. It has a low incidence of weight gain and very few side effects. I was on it for 4 weeks but unfortunately it didn't work for me but most people have success with it. I switched to Abilify and it works great for me!

Has anyone made the switch back to seroquel after being on Zeldox(geodon). I think its what i need to do to stop the anxiety and irritability i've been having. I know there's a chance of weight gain again, but at least i'll sleep again without waking up at 3 in the morning. To be honest i don't even know if the zeldox helped me lose any weight.

Does anyone know a way to decrease the anxiety when tapering off Geodon? I'm already taking Klonopin, and Benedryl doesn't help. I've been on 20mg with breakfast and 40mg with dinner for six months now. Doctor has no further suggestions. Please reply if you know how to control the rebound anxiety!

I am currently taking Geodon, Cymbalta, Lamictal and Geodon. Recently I've had times when I've seen things that weren't what they really were. I'm wondering if this is psychosis. They're not like hallucinations, just sort of like I'm in a fog, not with it. I also have trouble with my understanding when someone is saying something to me, like a delayed reaction, feeling kind of slow. I really wonder if I need both mood stablizers.

I was going to take the Lamictal with the Geodon, and and only take the Geodon long enough to get me to the theraputic dose of lamictal. However, the Geodon made me really hyper and irritable (at only 20 mg), and gave me a ravenous appetite. So now I'm trying a very small dose of seroquel with the Lamictal. And yes, the dr. I'm seeing is a psychatrist who specialises in eating disorders. I love my family doc.

My main issue was the binge eating at night when i was on geodon and seroquel. Ive been on geodon for 10 years and eventually was On such a low dose 40 mg that I just quit cold turkey. I did up my seroquel to 400 mg to eliminate the withdrawls. (im quite the pharmacist) I have actually been loosing weight rapidly. So glad I found the right cocktail! i'm 29 its about damn time!!

he/they said that he heard me crying and was trying to get to me and they wouldnt let him (it was another patient that was crying right after I had left he said it sounded just like me) it took 4 mantaince workers and 2 security guards to get him strapped down so they could give him a sedative and then the doc put him on geodon and said that he is bipolar...the 1st doc he saw said it was anxiety..

I'm bipolar 1 and have been on 160 MG of geodon for 16 yrs and it has stopped working for me.

But what has truly made a difference in the anxiety (and the weight gain related anxiety issues with the Seroquel) is exercise..... The Geodon was such a nightmare that it still makes me nervous, but then again, I know I'm over reacting to that... It just seems hopeless to be hopeful about not being on medication.... I'd love an alternative, something natural, but until I really get a breakthrough with the cognitive therapy, I think I'm stuck on meds for awhile.....

I have had anxiety for over a year now. Lately I started geodon and take 3mg of klonopin a day. I also take warfarin for a blood clot I had in my lung. The past week or so my eyes have been dilated and it is scaring me. The Doc's say there is nothing wrong, but they haven't done any tests. Has anyone had this with anxiety or panic disorder or from meds. Please let me know. Thanks so much!!!!!
